ABZ President Fr Frank Bwalya says he is ready to accept a job from President Edgar Lungu.
In an interview, Fr Bwalya stated that there is nothing wrong in accepting a job to serve in President Lungu’s administration.
He however said the amount of campaigning he did for President Lungu in the run up to the January 20 election should not be seen as a way of positioning himself for a job.
Fr Bwalya also maintained that he will consult with his party membership in an event that he is offered a job in President Lungu’s administration.
‘There is nothing wrong with accepting a job from President Lungu. Sometimes people want to make it look so bad when one is appointed. I will gladly accept the appointment but off course i will consult with my party members first,’ Fr Bwalya said.
‘I can tell you that there is nothing wrong in serving the Zambian people because this is what we all strive for as politicians,’ he said.
And Fr Bwalya has defended President Lungu’s decision to go for holiday, three weeks after assuming the office of President.
He said there is nothing wrong with a human being deciding to rest after a rigorous work or travel schedule.
‘Let us now blow things out of proportion. President Lungu is a human being just like all of us and deserves rest. He has been inundated with a lot of responsibilities sometimes combining four key positions in the recent past and i don’t remember him going on leave like other Ministers used to do. Now that he is President, i feel he needs time to go and reenergised.’
