Inspector-General of Police Stella Libongani has confirmed that police have received the warrant of arrest for Director of Public Prosecutions Mutembo Nchito.

Commenting on reports that the DPP faces arrest following a warrant issued against him by a Chongwe magistrate’s court, Mrs Libongani said that the police will execute warrant.

Mrs Libongani said that the warrant issued by the Chongwe subordinate court can be executed by any police officer.

She noted that the warrant is not addressed to a particular police station, adding that usually she would know which police station would do this.

Mrs Libongani said she needed time to study the documents and that she would issue a comprehensive statement on the matter when she has all the details.

The warrant was issued yesterday by the Chongwe magistrate’s court for alleged abuse of authority of office, procuring execution of documents by false pretences, uttering a false document and fraudulent contracting of debt.

    • RB gets the last laugh. He is enjoying the benefits of financing Kaminamisa Lungu’s campaign. Nchito was Sata’s friend and appointee.

      Away with Sata’s vision.

    • I am so distraught about Lungu’s foray, how can you ‘ prosecute the prosecutor’? This is a bad presedence for our YOUNG DEMOCRACY. My hate for this Chagwa Kachasu man is growing each day that passes by. I am so infurriated, what institutions is Kachasu man trying to set?

    • Stella! You look great in that dress and your hair is all done up. Good to see her looking great, that police uniform doesn’t do you any justice my love.
That aside, I pity this woman. She is in between a rock and a hard place. I would advise her to resign gracefully if she feels she is being used by the powers that be. Its better to live a quiet life enjoying the little you have saved and invested than to be tossed about by people who prefer to remain in the shadows while they use your name to persecute others.
“As wise as a serpent but as innocent as a dove”. Peace to you.

  1. This no laughing matter. Zambia is exhibiting extremely serious symptoms of a failed state! The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing! It would have been better to fire the DPP than the state to allow such an unoffice to come under such confusion/direspute/manipulation behind the curtains by everyone knows who! At the rate thing are unfolding, I doubt if this govt will last 12 months!

  2. Will there be more surprises in tomorrows cabinet announcements? this man is being told what to do,,,even the way he walks suggests so, clasping his hands, bowing down, bending over,..he is sending a subtle messages to his bwana’s saying..’yes bwana, what next?’…..i’m beginning to doubt his humble persona

  3. The 2015 presidential by-election opened EVERY ZAMBIAN’S eyes and in 2016 will have more young ones REGISTERING as VOTERS who will vote for UPND.

HH would ve brought quality leadership for our great Zambia. Its sad tht Lungu stole VOTE but still UPND showed the Kachasu man that power can slip at anytime.

The battle is still on we can not let our COUNTRY BE RUN by clueless clowns of Kachasu Chagwa’s calibre. I am hurt people.

  4. People complained when Mutembo was appointed DPP. He’s being pushed out, the same people still complain. What do we want as a country????

    • People did not say arrest Nchito on cooked up charges or bring of offfice of DPP insuch disrepute> The simply asked for his resignation and paying back DBZ loan thus maintaining sanctity of DPP’s office. What is happening is DPP’s being pushed by hands that are even more dirty than the DPP’s. Basically an aggravated robber calling a fornicator criminal!

    • those who are complaining belong to one bitter political party with 100% hatred for Lungu and his govt. Lungu warned the cartel way before he joined hands with RB. He publicly denounced the cartel at heroes stadium during sata’s funeral, and at his campaign rally in mandevu when RB was then MMD presidential candidate.

  5. IT ALL SOUNDS POLITICALLY ORCHESTRATED! MORE OF THESE CASES ARE COMING UP AGAINST INNONCENT ZAMBIANS. DO YOU REMEMBER HOW INNONCENT PEOPLE WERE BEING DEPROTED FOR NO APPARENT REASON WHEN THE NOW PRESIDENT WAS MINISTER OF HOME AFFAIRS? NOW IT IS REVENGE TIME FOR LUNGU AND RB. SADLY WE HAVE A MARIONETTE IG.

  6. Stella where were you when the country was crying over these misdeeds by your uncle Sata who appointed DPP for you to accept this nonsense in Zambia. No wonder God called Sata early and his soul is not resting in peace because of this nonsense.Today you want to acknowledge this corrupt element when you have been seeing all these.Country men and women should we just watch and observe our country being reduced to this level because of voting on tribal lines?
We only have One Zambia to protect from these visionless leaders like Lungu who was even Justice minister.

  7. Mutembo Nchito needs to face the law. A good way to send a message to Fred Mmembe that he is next.
“This is chess not checkers, these are warning shots, after your next move we will give you what we got”

  8. The same police that dropped all charges against Mutembo Nchito prior to his appointment to the office of the DPP are today jostling to arrest him in total disregard of the provisions of the rule of law.

There is time for everything indeed!

  9. In the first place Nchito was not even supposed to be the DPP. It is only right now to put him where he belongs. We Zambians are very poor in keeping records, this gentleman is on record that todate with his colleagues owe the people of Zambia som good K14 billion they borrowed from a named bank. So far most of the staff in that BANK who are supposed to give evidence on the borrowed money have been since chased. How do you fogive such a reckless selfish individual, who derives pleasure in seeing malnutritioned children of Zambia. Let him go to the gallows, to reconsider his life style.
