Zambia face hosts Niger in must-win CAF U17 Cup tie

Share

Zambia must beat hosts Niger in the two sides second match at the 2015 CAF Under-17 Cup on Wednesday night if they are to remain relevant at the tournament.

This game will kickoff at 20h00 Zambian time.

The Junior Chipolopolo are smarting from a 1-0 loss to Guinea in their debut CAF Under-17 Cup in Niamey on Sunday.

Niger are equally wounded after succumbing to a 2-0 loss to Nigeria in the competition’s opening game on Sunday.

Chris Kaunda’s boys will also tackle favourites Nigeria in their last group match.

But striker Kenny Sinkala said Zambia was ready to face both Niger and Nigeria.

“As a team we are not scared of any opposition here, we remain focused on the reason we come here for which is to qualify to the World Cup first then focus on winning the Africa Cup,” Sinkala said.

Nigeria, who have a better goal difference, jointly tops Group A with Guinea on three points as Zambia and Niger continue to sweat for their first points at the tournament.
