Northern Province PF secretary Everest Chela joins Rainbow Party

Share

PATRIOTIC FRONT(PF) Northern Province secretary Everest Chela has left the ruling party in favour of joining former party secretary general Wynter Kabimba’s Rainbow Party.

Mr Chela who has now cloaked himself as Rainbow Party provincial chairperson chose an odd venue for announcing his resignation which he opted to do in at Mungwi’s Natasha Hall instead of his area of residence and PF strongjold Kasama.

Mr Chela credited his resignation to alleged undemocratic practices that came upafter the demise of its founder President; Michael Sata.

Mr Chela who claims to be a founder member of the PF, said it pained him to see fellow founding members such as Guy Scott, Emmanuel Chenda, Wylbur Simuusa, Miles Sampa among others either being side-lined or given deputy ministerial positions in preference to outsiders.

He is however, clinging on to his position as Bululu Ward councillor.
Other nondescript officials and members who resigned from PF party to join RP accused their former party of having lost direction.

United Party for National Development committee member at provincial level Lazarous Mwiçhe also decided to announce his defection to to the Rainbow Party.

Mr Mwiche, a former UNIP member of central committee who intends to contest for the Malole parliamentary seat in 2016, said the party he had defected to was a unifying factor.

Northern Province PF treasurer Webby Chipili said Mr hela’s resignation was inconsequential and urted him to also give his civic seat

  1. This rain party is always fishing from the pond or basket ,cant they manage to fish from dam, river or lake. Why always targeting and confusing PF members? When one is defecting he or she starts with uncoordinated condemnations of his house but find themselves defecting alone or insignificantly.

    • It takes a village to raise child. Strategic inclusive politics is a prescription for polarization. President Lungu is on course of uniting and developing the country through his consensus leadership. All those appointed by the President and paid by the Zambian taxpayers are fellow Zambians. They have every right to be involved in the growth and stability drive of our country. Political party affiliations cannot and should not deny capable Zambians to be involved in national affairs if the state security has cleared their records as no threat to national security.

Ba Chela, some education + Wisdom=happiness in life. Otherwise, you risk proving that you are club of some disillusioned LGBT sodomites. All the best in Rainbow but careful of the LGBT community schemes coded in Rainbows.

    • I have hope that UPND might carry the day in 2016 despite Lungu giving RB some concessions but the people in the East will need to see fruits of voting for Lungu.

PF is slowly dying in Northern, Luapula and Muchinga more especially that Lungu is not Bemba.

PF might shift its support base to eastern province from its traditional strong holds if and only if Lungu plays along with the wako ni wako RB is trying hard to introduce in PF.

Alternatively, PF might be forced to work with Rainbow party, now that MMD is a finished party come 2016.

I see an alliance between PF and Rainbow most likely to happen in 2016 because they are both violent parties and know that no one will emerge the winner if battle it out separately.

There will be a lot of defections in 2016 .

    • @Senior Citizen,
When are you going to comment on the following statements by your president or are you going to pretend that you are not aware of them?
‘I will instruct the police to arrest and crush those who oppose me’.
‘I am president of Zambia and all those who are not happy with appointments must leave Zambia’
‘ I will fall on them like a ton of bricks.
Senior Citizen, I think Zambia now has a tin-pot dictator ruling the country by decree and more is on the way. Is this what you call uniting and developing the country? How does Lungu unite the country when he wants some citizens to get out of Zambia?

    • LET HIM GO,THOSE ARE THE PEOPLE KABIMBA PLANTED IN THE PF.KABIMBA IS NOT A FACTOR IN ZAMBIAN POLITICS HE HAS GOT THAT HABIT OF FORMING POLITICAL PARTIES WHICH DONT MAKE SENSE.
HE WAS WITH LIMA PARTY,HE FAILED UNTIL RESURECTED FROM THE DEAD BY SATA,PF SECRETARY FLASH ALL THOSE KABIMBA ELEMENTS OUT OF THE PARTY.

    • If it was a matter of life and death, I would die a hardcore UPND member than vote for Rainbow whatever. But since its a democracy, I will remain neutral.
@senior citizen, I know about rainbows and this one particularly I do not like. I am with you there.

    • You think Kabimba can divide the people in the Northern Zambia? Wake up, Chella is nothing and a nobody in Kasama that is why he feared to resign from Kasama and did it from Mungwi for fear of being lynched. He was talking a lot of nonsense but now let us see if he will pull the crowd for Kabimba the man who has never won any seat in a competitive election in Zambia. Kabimba will only attract his bantu Botatwe tribes men. Zambia is a Christian nation and no witch will ever rule Zambia.Kabimba was in Lima Party with Guy Scot it died, he went to ZRP with Masebo it died and he went into oblivion until bashikulu had to salvage him. He grew big headed like Satan and started positioning himself as the next President. Remember Guy Scot was even calling him Boss until he was cast out like Satan .

    • Mr Chella is not influencial but a troubled soul, and seemingly good at being used. And one fact of Zambian politics he is deliberately brushing aside is that it is one & easier thing to start a Party and it’s another to have it sustained. Some of the Evidence & examples of failed political arrangements are ZADECO, ZRP, LIMA Party and the Leader of Rainbow Party himself.

    • you dont know what you are talking about, people are joining RAINBOW PARTY you think they are playing wait for 2016. politics is about numbers, PF has lost CHELLA whether you like it or not.

  2. Am afraid we cn only underate this rainbow thin at our own peril, this thiin seem to b gainin a lot of ground and we definatwly need to put a stop to this asap.

  3. Rainbow party most likely to cannibalise 50 percent of the strong holds for PF. This projected growth for rainbow party will weaken the PF further. At the moment the in fighting in the party has the prospersity split to undermine the party leadership and cause a lot of problems on movitating and maintaining loyalty amongst the membership. Whilst UPND will remain united and much stronger in their strongholds.

    • For UPND its the same resolve. In fact we have said everyone whose vote was stolen will multiplied it by 10. Just encourage friends who are know are knowledgeable like retired civil servants to vie for local government positions on UPND tickets to make a change in some cases.

  4. we r not surprised but just know that Rainbow is PF incarnate, the same problems you have left have started budding in rainbow

  5. Mr Chela who claims to be a founder member of the PF, said it pained him to see fellow founding members such as Guy Scott, Emmanuel Chenda, Wylbur Simuusa, Miles Sampa among others either being side-lined or given deputy ministerial positions in preference to outsiders: NON OF THESE ARE ORIGINAL MEMBERS OF PF. KNOW YOUR HISTORY.

  6. CAN THESE “POLITICIANS” OF OURS DO ANYTHING ELSE IN LIFE?

AT LEAST RESIGNING FROM ONE COMPANY TO TAKE UP ANOTHER

JOB AT A BETTER ONE MAKES SENSE TO ME.

    YABAA

  7. …PF is in trouble!! The talk that engulfed the nation that Wynter was creating parallel structures is now coming to the fore.

Going by what has been witnessed in terms of defections, one can safely say that we expect mass defections to RAINBOW soon after dissolution of parliament.

What does this mean, this means that PF will lose votes in their stronghold as these are the areas that Wynter congitated on in terms of creating structures.

As such, UPND just needs to consolidate on their strongholds and hope for a frustration vote from PF left overs and this will be game over in 2016

    • No all those that are leaving now are the ones who joined PF but under Kabimba’s parallel structure. Since Rainbow party did not have a presidential candidate most of those who were supporting Kabimba voted for HH. In 2016, I for see problems for both HH and WK as both will be fishing for votes from the same bucket.

    • No wonder mwanawasa told you at one time that u re always behind, for your only lmformation Pf is ahead of under five upnd, you are hoping for a frustrating vote for upnd to be in power you can not organise a party on your own.In the just ended 20th Jan presidential polls PF had a lot of problems within the party but they carried the day, hope you were looking for a frustrating vote again, PF in 2016 will be more organised and United Game On.

  8. The rainbow is more prominent during rain season. After the rains the party will disappear and swallowed by UPND, an all weather and united party. Pf will work with the remnants of MMD.

  9. Rainbow party is never a factor and it wont be!!!the dull people joining it leaving mighty PF will regret doing so!!!Wynter Kabimba’s party can never ever split votes in PF or UPND strongholds!!!this is just a ka noise maker party being promoted by Fred M’membe whom we know as chief of the cartel!!!any learned politician cannot join this party from popular parties like PF or UPND!!let this rainbow party contest Chawama,Masaiti and Senga Hill seats to proof its popularity!!!IF THEY DO TAKE PART,THEY LOSE BADLY!!!!MAJORITY ZAMBIANS CANT VOTE FOR EVIL WYNTER KABIMBA AND HIS PARTY,MARK MY WORDS!!!

  10. Chella, just resign and keep quite. You have been to school, but you are not educated! How can you expect a ministerial position or a position higher that where you are in a competitive era! It is long gone when some body could just shout and come up with a party slogan and offered a very high job. And such individuals ended up dozing in offices because any work in the office was above their thresh hold. You have not lost anything by leaving the party and neither the party has lost anything for your leaving. It is like dropping a needle in the sea that can go unnoticed.

  11. This rainbow party should not be underrated. You know this Wynter very well in Lusaka but not in other parts of the country. This is how this guy managed to push PF even to winning the 2011 elections. To me I like one thing about this guy;

    (1) He openly denounces violence which thing the P.F coffin carrying mockers did not like. Unlike our current President who defends cadres on matters of violence Wynter denounced that completely.

    (2) Whatever opinion you have about this guy, he openly denounced corruption not the kind of quietness we are getting EL. At least even Sata was very clear on corruption.

    • @KAVUYI spot on , i wonder why not our president edigar Lungu don’t talk about corruption and condemn violence even in his inauguration speech? in short he support all that if not denouncing it period

  12. This progress!

MP’s that resign and move on to happier pastures! We commend these people highly. People who consider themselves sidelined because they did not attain an appointment in cabinet need to remember that His a Excellency himself toed the line.

It is good to consider where one is happiest. Rainbow for you? Bonne Chance!

  13. Rainbow is a joke and Mmembe knows it. It is because Mmembe has no where to go. He has annoyed UPND and PF. He destroyed MMD. But Zambians have understood him and his aim. To get to the treassury using a rogue and malicious newspaper.
If Rainbow is factor let it try the upcoming bye elections. You will see that they will be last. The whole country celebrated the sacking of Kabimba. Imagine Parliament, NGO,s and ordinary people were relieved when Kabimba was sacked. Do you think Zambians will drink the vomit Kabimba. Maybe Hyenas like Chella. GBM’s thought was the favoured one to take over from Sata. This is why he is bitter with EL.

  14. People want to use the Sampa factor to divide the party. Sampa cannot beat EL even himself knows it unless Scott was allowed to rig. EL was petitioned by 72MPS to stand as PF presidential candidate. Which MP petitioned Sampa. My advice to Sampa is to learn that leadership is virtue not a vice. Loyalty and humbleness paves ways. I can assure you. See how Lubinda behaved. He was abused and bruised through Kabimba’s moves. He kept quiet and never complained. Two people in PF already are showing virtue which Zambians will petition for leadership in 2027. It is Lubinda and Kalaba. They have something which Sampa must learn from. Forget HH in 2016 and 2012. EL will win.

  15. Sorry I meant Forget HH in 2016 and 2021 (not 2012).
Kabimba was divisive and arrogant. GBM and Kambwili were also on the list to be hounded out. Kabimba started creating a parallel party structure knowing that Sata was dying. These are the people you are now hearing that they have resigned because PF is a panga party. Pangas were rife at the helm of Kabimba’s tenure as PF SG. Our memory is not too short to forget so easily and early. The only reason why many cannot remember is it suited Mmembe and Kabimba that time. It is not possible that PF became panga party and tribal after Kabimbas sacking in September 2014. This is about being bitter because the project failed. This is it. Finito

  16. As things stand, Luapula. Northern and Muchinga may turn against PF. Just as it happened to Ruphia Banda. Ruphia mistreated Sata and people thought ok let it be known. Lungu is not Sata or the current PF is no longer PF that Sata found. It a mixed PF . Lungu may be right in what he is doing / constant travelling to make allowances as he has 18 months. Rainbow party is a real threat to mixed PF /MMD
