Musonda Mwape makes Orlando Pirates debut

Striker Mwape Musonda finally made his Orlando Pirates debut on Wednesday.

The ex-Konkola Mine Police striker came on in the 74th minute after replacing scorer Kermit Erasmus in a 1-1 away draw at fourth from bottom Free State Stars.

This was Mwape’s second game for Pirates after he was an unused substitute a 3-1 home win over Polokwane City on February 28.

Pirates are fourth after the draw.

Elsewhere in South African PSL mid-week action, defender Joseph Musonda played the full game in fifth placed Polokwane City’s 1-1 away draw at eleventh positioned Chippa United.

On Tuesday,striker Christopher Katongo was on the bench for second placed Bidvest Wits in their 1-0 win over Mamelodi Sundowns.

Goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene was on the bench in that match for the defending champions Sundowns who are down in third position.
