Former President, Rupiah Banda has commenced legal proceeding against former Justice Minister, Wynter Kabimba, the Post Newspapers and its proprietor, Fred M’membe, in the Lusaka magistrate court.
Mr. Banda has accused the three of having published a contemptuous and defamatory statement.He has complained of an article allegedly issued in the Post Newspapers, by Mr. Kabimba.
The article in question suggested that President Edgar Lungu’s government is framing suspended Director of Public Prosecutions to cover Mr. Rupiah Banda’s wrongs.
Mr. Banda has said the article labeled him a criminal when the courts of law still consider him innocent.
He has explained that the matters complained of are capable of interfering with the cases that he is currently facing before the courts of law.
This is according the affidavit in support of the complaint filed by Mr. Banda in the Lusaka Magistrate court.

The late Chiluba your friend failed to take the Post to court when he was accused of being a thief because he knew that the Post would plead justification and reveal things that we did not know.

Banda might just as well win with the Lungu/Banda made judiciary. Come 2016 people will release that voting PF was a mistake. You are only guilty if the courts find you wanting but when you are stealing in daylight people are watching ,the courts might be useless or bought so they might find you innocent. I think Banda is a criminal, see what is happening with Nsanda, if you steal from the poor people that is what you get. Mr. Banda will never be happy in the few years left of him. Innocent ECL is being used by the old chap, if ECL wants to live few more years he should not tolerate being used otherwise his ending will be worse than kanitundila. He has got a point! We are in deed convinced he is a criminal! I don’t know that suing them will help in changing our view on Banda, ultimately, but it is worth to watch this axis of Zambian intrigue for top soap drama.

Guy Scott was not in charge. He was there to make EL lose elections. But alas he failed. What is happening is Mmembe who thinks he is in above Zambians. This should send a message to those who argue for reduced presidential powers. Mmembe wants Zambians to elect president of their choice and then he declares himself as supervisor of the president. But it is a matter of time.
Banda is just an rushing the heat on his own. Kabimba and Mmembe have more data about the wrong doing of Banda more than Lungu. Lungu was an outsider during the reigns of Sata . Therefore those from Eastern shouting loudly will hold their heads in their hand with shame. Lungu must take tame Banda as things start happening at the neck speed . It’s Lungu who is seen as weaker and no foresight. Banda wants Mutembonout they used kangaroo law and backfired. The case is in court why Lungu constitute a tribunal? Was Lungu not part of the PF that ratified overwhelmingly Mutembo? Where was Lungu all these three years ?
