Nkana record first win, Power rout Napsa

Share

It was a good day for Nkana who won their first game of the 2015 FAZ Super Division season to join their town rivals Power Dynamos with a win on Saturday.

Nkana beat National Assembly 1-0 away in Lusaka while Power defeated Napsa Stars 3-0 in Kitwe.

At Woodlands Stadium, Austin Muwowo headed in Nkana’s lone goal in the 63rd minute to ease the pressure on coach Beston Chambeshi.

The win came just four days after assistant coaches Zeddy Saileti and Gift Kampamba were fired.

Nkana had picked up just one point from their previous three league games heading into their Week 4 away game this weekend.

And at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe, Felix Sunzu opened his Power Dynamos account with a brace, both goals from headers, in the 19th and 39th minute.

Power were clearly not missing their top marksman Alex Ngonga who is away on trials at CF Mounana of Gabon just a week after they eliminated the Kitwe side.

Jimmy Ndhlovu completed Power’s good day at the office with the third goal in the 67th minute.

Power have maximum 6 points two games and another two matches in hand.

  1. It was a tough victory for Nkana and Bestone Chembeshi was insulted badly by Nkana supporters at woodlands stadium!!but all the same congrats Nkana!!

  2. It’s still early days. I am not particularly worried that we have started slow, its the finnishing which really matters. Most of the teams occupying the top slots are just warming them up for others examples: Choma Eagles, Nkwazi, Mighty etc
