LUSAKA, APRIL 25, 2015 — Zambians must condemn United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Mr. Hakainde Hichilema’s refusal to recognize the presence of His Excellency President Edgar Chagwa Lungu today at Heroes Stadium where Seventh Day Adventist members gathered in celebrating 1 million church membership in Zambia.
Political maturity demands statesmanship and rising above pettiness, a test Mr. Hichilema failed to pass with his conduct. Zambians must be worried that Mr. Hichilema seems to be the only citizen who has refused to accept that President Lungu was given the mandate to rule Zambia on 20th January 2015, no wonder even his analysis of the President’s first 90 days in office is pregnant with envy and jealousy.
Zambians should worry that Mr. Hichilema he has arrogated to himself as the source of all knowledge and wisdom. In regard, we are not surprised that he does not see anything positive about President Lungu’s administration.
Zambians therefore do not deserve such moral slippage from Mr. Hichilema which has sadly become a deluge. His latest behaviour therefore exposes the arrogance that Zambians have always feared, resulting in his four (4) consecutive losses. Zambians have continued to demand that politicians will rise above personal differences especially during such significant religious events and this is the opportunity the SDA Church event provided for Zambia, today.
PF therefore calls on Mr. Hichilema to reflect on his conduct of today and discern correctly the times Zambia is living in. Zambians have resolved to live in unity, harmony, reconciliation and forgiveness.
This is what President Lungu has continued to preach, including hope and aspiration for the vast majority of Zambians. It is therefore up to Mr. Hichilema to rise to the challenge and cease conveying messages of discontent and disunion. Surely, his behaviour of today was not just any other moral slippage but a deluge.

The more he brings out his unorthodox behavior, the more he consolidates a public perception that he is a sly political opportunist masquerading as idealist.
Senior citizen is a desperate individual who believes in powers or things nobody can prove. This is true ignorance which blind people follow and think well to do people have sold their souls out of envy. Sadly people have believed this nonsense even during elections. Shame!

If he attempted to come, Lungu and his peope were prepared to denie him visa entry into Zambia. The PF sees the SDA President to be sympathetic to HH hence the reason why the sick president had to attend the function despite vomiting through out the night to to swapping of HIV/AIDS drugs he is taking.

Edith Nawakwi is the President of FDD, an opposition political party just like HH’s and often attacks the government as an opposition political party should do but when it came to greeting the President she knelt down which is the accepted protocol. In some cultures in Zambia an elder person who is seated cannot be greeted by a young person while standing. President Lungu was seated. In Britain you have to curtsy when you greet the Queen. The British take offence when this is not observed. HH cannot be forced to greet the President but it does give the impression that he takes their political differences seriously.
