FINANCE Bank chairperson Rajan Mahtani has been summoned to appear before Police in Lusaka.
Police spokesperson Charity Chanda said in an interview yesterday that Dr Mahtani would appear for questioning in a fortnight as he was currently out of the country.
Ms Chanda did not state the reasons for Dr Mahtani’s summoning stating that details would be divulged when he appears for questioning.
“We summoned Dr Mahtani on Wednesday unfortunately the summons did not reach him in time as he had left the country. He has however communicated to us that he will report in two weeks time,” she said.
Ms Chanda said a comprehensive statement would be issued when Dr Mahtani appears before police.”
Efforts to get a comment from Dr Mahtani’s lawyer John Sangwa proved futile by press time.
