Evangelical Youth Alliance reverend Moses Lungu says Zambian Voice executive director Chilufya Tayali should not celebrate his acquittal for rape charges because his behaviour allegedly exhibits immorality.
Reverend Lungu said in an interview yesterday, that there is no freedom when Mr Tayali is aware of the wrongs he did with the woman he had an affair with.
He said Zambia is a conservative society and that it is unfortunate that Mr Tayali was proud to state that he moves around with a condom.
“There is nothing to celebrate about his issue. there is no freedom when he admitted that he had an affair with the young lady. Where is morality in the things he said and did?” he said.
Rev Lungu said Mr Tayali’s behaviour exhibits disrespect to women and that he should be condemned instead of being described as a free man as there is no freedom in what he did.
Mr Tayali was last week acquitted of rape charges by the Lusaka Magistrate’s Court.
And Rev Lungu is disappointed that Rainbow Party president Wynter Kabimba has been attacking the judiciary when he is part of the legal fraternity and is also a former minister of Justice.
He said Mr Kabimba should not attack the judiciary now because he had the opportunity to correct any perceived problems when he was minister of Justice.
Reverend Lungu alleged that Mr Kabimba made a lot of wrong decisions when he was in office.
It is difficult to comprehend what the EYA Reverend is saying given the circumstances that led to the issue of Tayali becoming public knowledge. What were his expectations of a Tayali response? How else would he have defended himself when he was been prosecuted by the press and politicians? Using condoms is now being touted by all manner of NGO, schools and anybody else who cares to stop the spread of Aids and he has not condemned that.
Hypocrisy in Zambia needs to come to an end. Listening to this rev would give an impression that Zambia is largely full of morally upright people and tayali belongs to the very few exceptions. We all know this is not the case, the level of immorality in Zambia is staggering. In fact tayali’s transgression is child’s play compared to most of the stuff that goes on there,,,, including the stuff committed by the so called men of the cloth! Enough with the pretence already. Can someone remove this pretentious Christian label nonsense.
Tayali, you have brought all this upon yourself. You should only blame yourself for what is around the corner. Eating with the cartel” is probably the biggest mistake you have made and it will land you somewhere young boy. Be careful. The reverend’s comments are okay to some of us, unfortunately, most Zambians can’t analyse issues in depth, no wonder we are cheated by politicians and *****s like Mmembe all the time, and we will continue to wallow in poverty.
Mmembe and Nchito are thieves, they have stolen from the people of Zambia. If it was another group of people that refused to pay the DBZ loan, Mmembe would have overblown his Post vuvuzela and he would have called them all sorts of names. This hypocrite, Fred Mmembe and his fuc. mate Mutombe Nchito are shameless liars and day light thieves. They call others thieves but that is what they are as well. Now this idi.. Chilufya from Tanzania has also joined them. Time to find a lasting solution to Mmembe. The govt. should do something about these thieves, ask the Americans how they get rid of anyone who stands in their way, they will tell you what to do.
Comment on Rainbow President is right on but not on Tayali. Of course anyone would celebrate considering what happened to Gen Kanene. I would throw a big party and hug the magistrate if permitted. What Tayali did (fornication) has been done even by brothers and sisters in the Lord. The only difference is not being found out or dragged to court. How innocent is our Rev. Only the Lord knows. We leave it there.

I applaud Tayali for moving with a condom. Zambians are hypocrites thats why aids tayakapwe. Mumone Ba MBA na tuma Side plate, Mumone ngabaya kuma workshop…kutombana fye kwabako. Lets be real if you don’t carry a condom on your person you are HIV positive and are hell bent on spreading the virus. Bad manners.
This Rev. Lungu should just keep quiet and leave this issue to Tayai alone. Too much of these pretenders masquerading as men of God. He is a free man and he has the right to be happy. If this moses had any morals he would even be discussing this issue anyway. Too much holier than thou in Zambia!
