The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has said the rescheduling of the dates for the commencement of the voter registration exercise has nothing to do with lack of funding from Government.
The Commission has attributed the rescheduling of the voter registration exercise to delays in the procurement of equipment and materials.ECZ Public Relations Manager Crispin Akufuna said the assumption of lack funding from government is only but wishful thinking.
Mr Akufuna said the commission has funds available for the procurement of equipment for the voter registration exercise ahead of the 2016 general election.He explained that there is a lot involved in the procurement process and that is why the commission opted to postpone the voter registration to allow the process run its course.
I want to mention one thing that I have never seen such kind of behavior where by you start registering on one side and proudly say Northern and Muchinga have over 65000 people registered while other stronghold of your opposition that it will be in September. This is anarchy and the world is watching you. Northwestern and Luapula rains starts as early as September and then you continue denying enough time for registration!!!!!!!!!!.
Akufuna and your team will be blamed heavily for bad works.
ECZ is very corrupt and disorganized. The last presidential election proved to the world how corrupt ecz is.
The next government should retire some of these guys for poor planning and lack of focus, they cannot see that t what they are doing is retrogressive and the Zambians are watching and know that they are favoring the PF. What is so special with that region where everything is required to be initiated that side first. Zambia is not Luapula and Northern plus Muchinga.
Why are you just concentrating on a particular region?,club for women, registration, road work etc, it’d be better if. Could balanced this ataaaa!
