Share

Zambia has dropped eight places on the FIFA rankings released on Thursday.

Chipolopolo plummeted from 60th in the World to 68th as of June 4, 2015.

Zambia’s fall follows their failure to defend the Cosafa Cup in South Africa where they were eliminated at the quarterfinal stage by Namibia 5-4 on post-match penalties before finishing 6th in the Plate final where they lost Malawi.

Malawi who beat them 1-0 in the Plate final moved up two places from 97 to 95 while eventual 2015 Cosafa Cup champions Namibia have jumped nine places to 105.

Meanwhile, Zambia are 17th on the CAF rankings for June.

Zambia’s 2017 Africa Cup Group E qualifiers opponents Congo-Brazzaville are 47th in the World, Kenya are at 123 while their guests on June 13 Guinea Bissau are at 155.

    • how can a nation with a chi useless coach in the name of Dishonour Janza have a better standing on the FIFA ranking. Dishonour Janza is the most useless coach on planet earth.

    • They are useless Let Kalusha also Go, He is corrupt. How would Zambia do better with such nonsense..

  1. How do we acknowledge FIFA ratings, when their closet is so full of skeletons that it can’t even close? These hoodlums have killed the good spirit of international football.

CAF rankings even make more sense to me.

  2. Zambia’s performance is compounded by lots of national problems as a whole and can not be narrowed to only coaching, players and administration of soccer. A national overhaul in totality of I do not know exactly what will make the sport tick once again! However the overhaul should start with each and every individual and the way they perceive the environment around themselves.
