The Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI) says it will continue to work with government and other stakeholders to promote and develop economic activities including trade.

ZACCI President Geoffrey Sakulanda said his association is committed to develop and promote commerce and industry with all stakeholders by speaking authoritatively on behalf of the business community.

Mr. Sakulanda said ZACCI will also continue to act as a link between the private sector, both large and small and government and other organisations having similar objectives to those of ZACCI.

He said this at the Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry 58th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Lusaka yesterday.

And Mr. Sakulanda has praised government for making efforts to improving the business environment and improve the competitiveness of Zambia in the region and internationally.

Mr. Sakulanda said his organisation values the efforts government is making in creating a conducive business climate and by stabilising the economy.

He said ZACCI also acknowledges government’s commitment on growing the private sector and diversifying the economy from mining to other sectors such as manufacturing and tourism.

Mr. Sakulanda has meanwhile reaffirmed his association’s commitment to continue dialoging with government on polices that impact on the growth of the private sector.
