PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu introduces PF candidate in the Petauke Central by-election, Dora Sliya, at a rally held at Kaulu Day Secondary school in Petauke

PRESIDENT Lungu has called on the electorate in Petauke Central Constituency to rally behind Patriotic Front (PF) candidate Dora Siliya to enable them to expedite development which they have been denied for almost two years.

He has also called on traditional leaders in Petauke District in Eastern Province to embrace opposition leaders campaigning for their candidates in the Petauke by-elections.

Addressing a rally at Kaulu Day Secondary School in Chief Kalindawalo’s chiefdom yesterday, Mr Lungu asked the voters to give him Dora Siliya for “effective development”.

“Much as electorates have a choice to choose a candidate they want, I also have a democratic right to choose which MPs to work with and while I have been criticised that government should not be selective on who to work with, I will favour the PF,” Mr Lungu said.

Other candidates contesting the seat are Allan Zulu of the UPND and Ignasio Phiri of UNIP.

Mr Lungu said voters in Petauke should not be cheated by the opposition that the Tuesday elections are meant to change government because he is still President.

President Lungu also warned that he will not tolerate PF members who marginalise new members. He said the party is for all.

He said those that feel they can not work with new members should leave the PF saying the late President Michael Sata taught him to be accommodative of new members.

The President said he differed with a lot of people prior to the Presidential elections in January but has since embraced them.

“Those against new members are lucky because I am not in the mood to show my strength. I am just watching them and they will be judged based on their work and dues given on merit,” he cautioned.

The President has further advised Ms Siliya to ensure that she focuses on her developmental programmes after being voted into office.

He reiterated the need to end the talk on tribalism and to have peaceful campaigns.
He said Petauke will benefit from the 920 boreholes donated by the Chinese government and equipment for making dams and rehabilitating roads, among others.

Meanwhile, the President said he is not pushing an agenda for him to run for a third term because Zambia has no shortage of leadership.

And Ms Siliya has commended President Lungu for providing good leadership within the few months he has been in office.

The President also addressed rallies at Petauke Secondary School and Minga Stop Primary School grounds.

He also stated that the PF is looking for politicians who can ably articulate issues in Parliament and that he will continue to choose people to work with.

President Lungu has said chiefs should receive opposition leaders with open hands as they are their children but cautioned them against influencing voters.

Speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Chiefs Mumbi and Kalindawalo of the Nsenga people of Petauke District, Mr Lungu said as much as chiefs may have their own preferred candidates they should not influence electorates on who to vote for.

“Zambia is a democratic nation and as such, tenets of democracy should be allowed to prevail in the June 30 by-elections. Let democracy prevail and ours is democracy that builds,” he said.

The President said he has received reports of certain chiefs and villages supporting certain candidates but appealed to them against influencing electorates, but to promote peace.

And responding to the traditional leader’s calls for relief food owing to the poor rainfall pattern experienced in the last farming season, Mr Lungu said the office of the Vice-President has already done a needs assessment for areas that are in need.

He said Vice-President Inonge Wina has already assured him that her office is addressing the matter.

The President also stated that concerns by the chiefs on effective management of the crop marketing process by the Food Reserve Agency will end as government is re-introducing the co-operatives in rural areas to handle the exercise.

Senior Chief Kalindawalo appealed to the President to address concerns in the disbursement of youth empowerment funds in Petauke.

He also said late President Sata had assured them of a university in the district and appealed for the construction of a stadium.

Chief Kalindawalo also appealed for the elevation of Petauke to a municipal council.

Chief Mumbi thanked President Lungu for going back to his home area to discuss with traditional leaders the developmental path of the district.

    • Something is very wrong with Zambians. WHY is that guy in pictures a president…. what went wrong? Did someone die and there was no option?

    • Dora epitomizes the end of PF. This is the end of Sata’s PF. People should not forget that Dora insulted Sata with impunity. She claimed homosexuality would be legalized by PF, but politics being what it is even scam bugs like Dora can aspire for office. @Nastradums, even I ask the same question. This guy even said he had no vision and he became president.

    • The only thing I see in Edgar is lack of direction. The man stands for nothing. The pipo they demonised yesterday as corrupt today he wants to work with them. The man is willing to tag even a disgraced person like Lewis Mosho and he sees nothing wrong. RB is now a hero. The best way of paying back Edgar is by not voting for him.

    • No ALUNGU epitomized the fall of PF , DORA is the final nail on the coffin of the boat. SATA will now make the final turn in his embassy park Grace coffin. MHSRIP.

  1. That s%%$t of “my TRIBE is”.. make Dora even more disgusting than ever. From using her finished matako now uses tribe for campaign. The all pictures are so dirty, no inspirations, no life, pure evidence of hypocrites.
Why RB, ka Mwale, Dora licked someone’s, is it because of their tribe?

  2. Lungu you are mixing with criminals Dora has corruption cases I court what are you going to do about them? We are watching your every step .

  3. # lungu

All those are bandits , simple question why vote for that foolish and corrupt ladie ? What has she done in her provinces ? Seen the schools in eastern provices , hospitals, government offices , water , electricity nothing . If those people vote for this bandits again then education is backwards in Zambia and close all the schools and universities worst of money . 50 years since independence, got any manufacturing plants to export around the world? 50 years making one road called great esterern road . She’s just a corrupt, selfish ,arrogant lady.

  4. BIRDS OF A FATHER FLOCK TOGETHER. THEY ARE ALL CRIMINALS AND PLUNDERERS. WHAT THE UNFORTUNATE COUNTRY. IT’S MMD 4 RULING.

  5. PF CANDIDATE “DOLLAR YASILA”. KEKEKEKE. CHAPWA BASENDA PF!!! THIS WAS THE FINAL MOVE. INTRODUCING ” DOLLAR YASILA” AS PF? EDGAR HAS TAKEN THE DISRESPECT FOR SATA TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL. I AM STARTING TO THINK THAT LUNGU WAS ALWAYS AN MMD OPERATIVE PLANTED IN THE PF! ANY WAY ITS TIME TO LISTEN TO THE WORDS OF PILATO ” AH LUNGU ANABWERA”. BA PF “DOLLAR YASILA” IS NOW OFFICIALLY YOUR BOSS.

  6. What a grotesque sight even a dog does not eat its own sh*t ….this lazy bum Lungu has utterly no vision and no integrity at all absolutely nothing.

    • And when you insult like that at leaders you even expect people can vote for yours. The answer is nay. No wonder kk told you that you are a single cell brain with an English golem.

  7. The writing is right on the boobs for all to see, PF’s chauvinistic divide and rule tactics have been exposed, they are now trying to cover that with deceptive messages, they tried to paint UPND black, but Zambians are realizing that it was just a hoax to unsurp power from MMD and to hold on to it, unfortunately these power hungry thugs have literally divided our country into two, creating enmity among friends, families, neighbors even at church, and in their quest to continue clinging on to power they have embarked on this botched and futile exercise to do some damage control. A waste of time because Zambians know them now and know what to do in 2016.

  8. Voters ask yourselves ” SINCE THE PF CAME TO POWER HAS LIFE IMPROVED FOR YOU OR ONLY FOR THE PRESIDENT AND HIS FRIENDS?”
    ZAMBIA VOTE WISE!!!!

  9. RB told us Dora was smart, Edgar has no choice but to endorse. The country is finished, let’s just sell it back to the British and just share the money amongst the 14 million of us Zambians

  10. We want quality Mps like Dora am not saying she is 100% perfect every can make mistakes.viva Lungu!viva Dora;

  11. Democracy establishes rights. Right to choose our leaders is the most sacred of those rights. Take it lightly and you will bare the consequences. BE TRUE TO YOURSELVES. IF YOU CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT LIFE IS BETTER FOR YOU UNDER PF THEN VOTE PF. HOWEVER IF YOU BELIEVE ZAMBIA CAN DO BETTER THEN SEND A MESSAGE TO LUSAKA VOTE ALTERNATIVE.
    ZAMBIA VOTE WISE!!!!!

  12. LET SOME ONE EDUCATE ME FELLOW READERS.
    1. ARE THESE LEADERS WE HAVE GOD GIVEN AS WE CLAIM?
    2. WHAT REALLY ARE QUALITIES OF A GOD GIVEN LEADER?
    3. IS A LEADER WHO GRABS POWER THROUGH BLOOD COUP GOD GIVEN?
I HAVE ASKED SO BECAUSE CHRISTIANS TEND TO CLAIM THAT ALL LEADERS ARE GOD GIVEN WITHOUT CONSIDERING HOW THE ASCENDED TO THAT TOP OFFICE, WAS IT BY BLOOD COUP OR JUST IMPOSING THEM SELVES.
ON DORA SILIYA ZAMBIANS REJECTED HER AND HER MMD IN 20111.
THIS TIME SHE IS BEING IMPOSED ON PEOPLE TO BE THEIR REPRESENTATIVE. THIS IS NOT FAIR.
NO WONDER MUSLIMS CELEBRATE THE DEATH OF SUCH LEADERS WHO IMPOSE THEM SELVES ON PEOPLE FOR THEIR SELFISH BENEFITS NOT TO WORK FOR THE PEOPLE.

    • God does not appoint leaders for us. What he has given us is the power or authority to choose who we want. If you choose wisely you will prosper and if you misuse the choice, the consequences are yours to bear.

  13. ITS UPTO THE PEOPLE OF PATAUKE! IF YOU BELIEVE LIFE IS BETTER FOR YOU SINCE THE PF CAME TO POWER, THEN VOTE PF. HOWEVER IF YOU KNOW IN YOUR HEART THAT ZAMBIA CAN DO BETTER THEN VOTE ALTERNATIVE.
    ZAMBIA VOTE WISE

  14. Why is DORA being introduced? Does Dorika, sorry DORA need to be introduced to any Zambian? DORA wants to be VP in PF possibly President so that she can loot the country. She thinks Edgar is f.oolish and hd is not looting enough. Edgar you’ve sold your party and soul to SATA’s foes. You are an evil man who has abandoned everything the man who formed the party stood for. You have abandoned the people who had a vision for mother Zambia.

  15. DORA TYPFIES WHAT PASSES FOR ZAMBIAN POLITICIANS THESE DAYS: UN PRINCIPLED CLUELESS INDIVIDUALS MOTIVATED PURELY BY PERSONAL GAIN AND GREED. LOYALTY TO IDEOLOGY OR POLITICAL PARTY IS A THING OF THE PAST. SHE IS NOTHING BUT A RECYCLED MMD.

  16. No matter what you UPND cadres are saying here,Dora Siliya will 100% win Petauke under PF,so just stop disturbing your hearts!!come 1st July 2015,Dora will be MP under PF-mark my words!!

    • We know that she is winning because you imposed her on the electorate or the people of petauke. You are like dogs going back to their vomits. shame on you. Now you want elections to be held after 10 years. What’s you fear. All the favorites of our Late President MR SATA MHSRIP ARE BEING DISSAPOINTED BY YOUR PRESIDENT AND BRING BACK THOSE SATA REJECTED. ARE YOU SURY NOT ASHAMED OF THAT? AND WHICH LEGACY OF SATA ARE YOU UPHOLDING? THEN YOU WHERE NOT HAPPY WITH SATA. YOU WHERE WISHING HIM DEAD SO THAT YOU JOIN FORCES WITH THESE CRIMINALS. YOU WILL BE ANSWERABLE ONE DAY.

    • Deputy Minister Kampyongo in pic 3 greeting with one hand while Lungu has extended both hands. It has never happened before in Zambian politics. If junior Ministers can show such disrespect to the president then what does that mean? Ministers have no confidence in Lungu and this means disaster and rebellion within his own ranks. Believe me the fight in 2016 will not be Lungu vs. HH but Lungu vs. the original PF. PF pangas are being sharpened against each other.

  17. ?Obatala Anabwera,

Dora is an individual… one of the many people that insulted Sata. Some even went further and beat up Sata. Sata himself would be doing what EL has done … to welcome Dora in PF just as she was taken back to Parliament after insulting (middle finger) she raised remember?.

Zambia is a Christian nation with tolerance whereby even wrong doers are given a second chance. My friend your cry is in vain specially that everything is pointing to Dora’s win tomorrow. Dora is PF now, and there should be no bygones come back.

  18. It is very sad indeed. May the soul of HEMCS rest in peace. Even if you have to accommodate new mebers, l do not think Dora qualifies under this amnesty.
