The Anti Corruption Commission has confirmed that former President Michael Sata’s press aide was yesterday questioned on allegations bordering on corruption.

ACC Acting Public Relations Manager Dorothy Mwanza confirmed that an inquiry against Mr Chellah has been set up bordering on corruption.

Ms Mwanza told a quarterly news briefing in Lusaka that Mr Chellah was questioned yesterday and that investigations into the matter will continue.

She said she could not divulge further details for fear of jeopardising investigations.

Meanwhile, Mr Chellah has threatened to sue Radio Phoenix for yesterday reporting that he was questioned by ACC investigators.

Sources confirmed that Mr Chellah phoned and threatened a Radio Phoenix Reporter with legal action for covering the story.

And Ms Mwanza has revealed that the ACC is reviewing the acquittal of former President Rupiah Banda involving a Government to Government Oil deal.

She said the Commission will study the matter to see whether to appeal the acquittal.

I think the ZP does better job that that ACC. Lungu should just delete ACC, if he wants to be remembered by some Zambians.

    • Chellah, why threaten to sue Radio Phoenix when their report was factual? Newsflash; you don’t have the clout you had when Sata was alive.
Chellah should be the one getting sued for those little text messages he would release to the Zambian people purporting his master was jogging in Central Park.
Chellah treated the Zambian people like idi0ts when he was press secretary. At the time, Chellah was the most arrogant and condescending SOB I knew! Word to the wise; never sleep with a politician, when they turn their back, they take the duvet with them!

  3. Yes, if Chellah is found wanting, please arrest the BANDIT!

However, justice should not only be used on the selected few, BANDIT RB is now flee. Let Chellah be investigated, let the rule of law be followed until proven so on corruption as alleged. Otherwise, corrupt elements should NEVER be tolerated, save the “rotten” judiciary ops! George Mpombo, Stephen Masumba & many more BANDITS are now FLED, as the judiciary is not independent as it should be.

Poor Chellah is reaping what he sew, next its the PF BANDITS in collaboration with MMD BANDITS having a hideous time in PF the visionless party.

For now its Chellahs time, otherwise 12 months left for PF to be dethroned democratically.

We all know that your spellings like your viewpoint are skewed, but least try and string a sentence together without childish errors!

    • How about you write in your native language? You might be able to express yourself a little better…as you seem to have only a skeletal grasp of English. There’s really no shame in expressing yourself in a language you’re more comfortable with…English doesn’t seem to be one of yours.

  4. It’s is this mode of openness that will win PF the trust and support of the electorate.

ACC must proceed with full force in look into the the Banda case and the potential to appeal.

We wish Mr Chellah well, and understand his desperation not to be defamed although a humble manner is best into these procedures. We wish him well.

    • The PF and their late leader shared all the land at State Lodge which Kenneth Kaunda had reserved for the expansion of housing for Special Duties Police.

The land was never advertised for all Zambians to compete. Sata dubiously allocated this land to himself and to PF Leaders only, possibly including George Chellah. It was then serviced with tarred roads, water and electricity. The allocations should be reversed and the land should be sold on the open market for Chongwe Council to raise finances for Council operations.

So as the ACC investigates George Chellah they should also investigate if he did in fact obtain serviced land at State Lodge and how much he paid for that prime land which was already allocated to the Police Service.

  5. No need to study the case just appeal. The case is a prima facie one. The 2.5 million USD WAS POCKETED BY Rb’S FAMILY SO WHERE IS THE PROBLEM. IF YOU ARE STILL IN DOUBT PROVIDE EVIDENCE TO SHOW US WHERE THE MONEY IS OR SHOW US THAT THE CONTRACT WAS A PRIVATE TO Government ARRANGEMENT AND NOt gvt to gvt.

  11. Is Fighting corruption is selective in Zambia. Mwanawasa brought others to book whilst he shielded Dingamo shielding Bulaya.
RB had no time for fighting corruption because he enjoys it.
Then Sata came with pomp and flare indicating that he was allergic to corruption and lifted RB’s immunity. However, he openly castigated the ACC when they wanted to investigate Kabimba and GBM.
Now it’s ECL. Kaizer Zulu, the “Special State house assistant for Corruption” was found wanting by the ACC after he solicited for and received $200,000 gratification for securing an investor an appointment with ECL. Whilst Kaizer is shielded and even continues to fly on the same plane with ECL, after his case was mysteriously dropped by the ACC, the “orphan” Chellah is being investigated. RB is also a darling…

  13. Ms. Mwanza, regarding politically induced “prospect” of re-reinstating ex-president immunity, can you please also investigate Varun Beverages (Zambia) Limited case in obtaining illegal incentives.
After all, Commission of inquiry did find that it was illegal act and all related documents are attached to that Final Report together with witnesses statements.

  14. ACC needs capacity building. It should start nipping most of these corrupt acts when they start to rear their ugly heads AND not when the filthy corruption wound is festering, it stinks…!
