RESPONSE TO SUNDAY CHANDA ON HH’S UTH VISIT
At times we don’t really think it is worth responding to the PF Media team headed by Sunday Chanda under the supervision of Secretary General Davies Chama and Deputy Mumbi Phiri that are daily damaging PF’s reputation and image.
Perhaps the day they will engage in civilized debate that affects our people is when we shall be constructively engaging each other.
On UPND President Hakainde Hichilema’s visit to UTH on Sunday evening, Chanda and his fellow PF leaders, that are currently enjoying high quality medical facilities abroad and don’t know how local hospitals are, must first have checked and gotten his facts right.
The newly appointed UPND Secretary General, Hon Stephen Katuka, was involved in a road traffic accident on his way to the Muvi TV interview.
On being informed after the interview, Mr. Hichilema, Vice-president Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) and team went to visit the injured SG and his driver.
And naturally, while awaiting to ascertain the condition of SG Hon. Katuka and his driver, Mr. Hichilema and team went to greet other patients, including those that were sleeping on the floor due to lack of bed spaces at UTH.
But in a typical and non-caring attitude by PF, instead of wishing our SG Hon. Katuka by sending a goodwill message and quick recovery, they clearly wish he never survived and have now resorted to the usual useless rantings of how much they have done to the healthcare delivery system in Zambia.
Did the PF leaders who clearly have no idea how people are suffering in those local clinics and hospitals surely expected Mr. Hichilema and team to abandon the human nature in him and shun those that may even have recognized him as a leader?
What kind of heartless individuals are the PF leaders who would rather rush to evacuate themselves for luxury specialized treatment and medical reviews abroad while the majority of the citizens are laying on UTH corridors on the floor?
Instead of addressing real issues, Sunday Chanda and PF leaders would rather be boasting about how much has been corruptly spent on scanners etc, in the health sector without addressing the critical question of whether these are accessible by people.
Sunday Chanda and PF leaders currently loitering all over the world, should tell us how real people’s lives are being uplifted in the health policy initiative not money they have been stealing through over priced contracts such as fertilizer supply, oil procurement deals, and road contracts, among others.
Sunday Chanda should further tell us why patients at UTH and other hospitals are sleeping on the floor when the country has held the highest number of PF induced by-elections in the history of Zambia.
If the PF government was caring as he is trying to portray, they should have spent the money they have been borrowing is being allocated to expenditures like increasing patients bed spaces at UTH.
A few weeks ago, we challenged Sunday Chanda’s surperviors such as Mumbi Phiri to report Mr. Hichilema to the ACC if they have any evidence of his illegal dealings during the MMD’s privatization programme.
Todate nobody has taken Mr. Hichilema to any law-enforcement agencies but just keep yapping on a dead issue with a view to divert people’s attention to the economic problems at hand.

Kakoma again missing the point. Sunday chanda was talking about patients privacy unlike the way they conducted themselves by posting pictures on Facebook even for patients who didn’t give them consent. And on funding face lift for uth Sunday again was clear on that one.
How do you know they patients did not give consent? Did the patient complain about it? Again making false assumptions. Sunday’s issue was HH politicizing his UTH visit, which a politician should do….
What patients’ privacy? Patients needing privacy are in ICU. Our hospital wards are public spaces.
I thought Friday night Chanda said he and his crew are not losing sleep over HH and UPND yet he gets a major hard on every time HH smiles, sneezes, wakes up or coughs. Ba Chanda it seems to me you are not sleeping I can donate some piriton or phenegan with some whisky kuoneka wavutika daddy. That ka 2 page response you did isnt in line with someone who isnt losing sleep.

And by the way, patients were excited upon seeing HH and naturally started complaining to him about their suffering sleeping on floors and having no medicine. Debate the bigger issues not petty things

And Lusaka Times did not report that UPND SG was in UTH during HH visit?
I agree with Hon Kakoma, I agree with Sunday Chanda, I agree with HH’S UTH visit, but ALL you f.o.o.l.s have one thing in common “Power”. Patients have been sleeping on the floor not just at UTH, but all GRZ run hospitals. You act to expose these substandards when not in power, once elected into office it’s a different game. Again, it is a shame for a government to cherish outside hospitals when resources are available to revamp local health institutions. No wonder – Poverty mindsets.
The entire UPND media team strikes me as dull. Actually most UPND members are dull despite some of them having acquire formal education up to university level. I feel bad that at one point I actually thought they had some brains, but NO I was mistaken. Kakoma looks dull just by looking at him. They have the likes of Larry Mweetwa, aka Wanzelu, who have gone to school but their level of analysis and critical thinking is below par.

I am very sorry to inform you that yes Miss Mary Tembo you are HIV positive. I will send you some leaflets on living with the illness and hope you stay strong. Any inconvenience is deeply regretted.
I was in Chilanga some weeks back and a friend was hit by a car and we rushed him to the health post only to find the ambulance driver had knocked with because they had no fuel in the ambulance to take people to a bigger hospital. the clinical officer just looked at him prescribed panadols as usual and told us to find our own way to UTH if we suspected internal injuries. Just an example. I don’t know which country this Chanda is living in.
I am PF and really civilised,meaning I will never call UPND names. Our party officials in PF think everything has to be a fight. No bane, let’s always engage our colleagues in opposition in a much more responsible manner
As usual, HH being a political prostitute will take advantage of any situation to show off. It was not out of remorse but personal gratification the he visited UTH. This is the HH we know.
Saying that Chanda should have wished this guy well, how many times have you UPND guys wished other people dead when they fall sick. You guys have no remorse and want others to give it to you. You only get what you give.

Talking about seeking political mileage out of a mistune. This is a classic. I saw Mrs Lungu wailing on ZNBC main news the other day at one of the Mopani Miners funeral homes, was it necessary on camera or was it just posturing for publicity, did she really care?I remember one Chagwa behaving the same on TV after President Sata’s death. Next he was claiming he was the anointed one! Visiting funeral homes is tulesa but kalilidwe. Contrast with the dignified manner Mama Inonge conducted herself earlier at the same funeral homes.

You should not even waste time responding to this jobless and unemployable Sunday Chanda. He is Zambia’s worst irritation for his thoughtless press releases. I pity ZNBC that has become a huge outlet for this rubbish.
Sunday needs to advice his boss to also visit hospitals instead of being a tourist in other people’s countries. Good works leave a lasting impression. The sick need visitation too, let the party in power lead by example instead of being jealous, why don’t you also visit the hospitals. Our healthcare problem require everyone’s contributions. Let’s no politicize health, people’s lives are more valuable than cheap politics.
This is what happens when a ruling party becomes useless. they spend millions of dollars evacuating politicians to South Africa but they can’t buy beds for patients to sleep on at UTH. Why condemn HH and his team for visiting the sick & taking photos. What privacy is this cadre Chanda talking about. Zambians need to see where people are sleeping in the highest hospital. PF wastes money on byelections, medical trip and more money in their pockets while the people suffer. Shame of Chanda.
Some bloggers suffer from mental health. Please check the article and debate the issues there. It’s that simple. Don’t be like MPs as exposed by Lusambo and Hamududu. Zambia is bigger than ECL or HH. We deserve better whether PF or upnd
Some patients are sleeping on the floor at UTH (University Teaching Hospital) in Lusaka? Zambia has really gone to the d***. A normal ruling party must be ashamed of such things but not the Zambian PF. So what is patriotic about PF if even a mere medical checkup for the president has to be done in South Africa? What a shameless bunch of “leaders”!
