Patriotic Front (PF) has said that it has information that former Kasama Member of Parliament, Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba9(GBM) will not re-contest the seat. Deputy Secretary General, Mumbi Phiri said that Mr. Mwamba is scared of the eminent embarrassment of losing the by-election.
Mrs. Phiri was speaking in Lusaka during the launch of Meet the President Dinner Dance to be held on August 19, 2015. Mrs Phir said that Mr. Mwamba is no longer popular in Kasama hence the decision not to contest.
Mrs. Phiri said it was laughable that Mr. Mwamba who is now UPND vice president for administration is now working with the party that belittled him.
An effort to get in touch with Mr Mwamba proved futile as his phone was not reachable. But UPND Deputy Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa could neither confirm nor deny. Mr. Mweetwa said that his party has not yet started the process of selecting its candidate for the pending Kasama Central parliamentary by election.
Meanwhile, PF Media Committee Member Benjamin Siwila said that former PF members who are issuing negative statements in the media about the PF are doing so because they are bitter for not having achieved their selfish motives when they were in the party.
Mr. Siwila said that it was not a secret that some former PF Members had selfish motives while they were members of the party. He said that Zambians should not take such people seriously because their selfish motives have been exposed.
He said President Lungu is delivering to the Zambian people in line with the PF manifesto and that all those issuing negative statements should be ignored.

HOW DO WE TRUST THIS MAN, WHO WAS NOT RUSTED BY HIS FELLOW LUNATICS? If HH has failed he should go,because he is leaning on Article 79 of the Party Constitution which allows a party president to contest for unlimited times (even though you keep losing)…He need to urgently amend the constitution because article 79 is undemocratic.
Why don’t you just join the PFools instead? You might be happier there.

It is laughable for GBM to work with UPND a party that belittled him but it is not laughable for PF to work with Dora Siliya after she insulted PF and called it a xenophobic party. Talk of double standards from the face of PF! Zambian politics are a real cesspit now.

Very clever move by Mumbi Phiri. This will force UPND to deny the fact that there will be no democratic process of selecting who stands in Kasama. Which of course will annoy GBM after being promised that he will automatically re-contest his Kasama seat.

GBM is now Vice President of an important Party. He does not need to stand as an MP because his duties are far much more above an MP. It is like asking HH to stand in Monze or Kabwata constituency……No need to stand. This woman has been thriving on telling lies and insulting men…….She is no use to anyone apart from finishing off what has remained of PF.
I would like GBM to re-contest the Kasama seat. That way I can sit back and enjoy the drama – imagine the insults from GBM to Mumbi and vice versa, then there is Chama and Kambwili. Bwafya sana.
Fight of words make no one bleed and I personally do not like it especially when it incorporates insults. If GBM has withdrawn, let it be. Whom we want is a person who shall coordinate with the relevant authorities to extend development to that part of Zambia. Those that stand for truth do agree with me that the country is transforming into better with all the roads, buildings and indeed the shopping malls which have created jobs on construction and in their running. We shall judge GBM as to whether he was working hard enough for Kasama when the NEW MP is voted in. Lastly, I urge PF to analyse their plan and if necessary make adjustments to suit peoples desires. I said ANALYSE.
Madam Phiri, two things;
1. A bye election is not a popularity contest, its designed for servitude ( quickly get a dictionary madam, check the word Servitude), I always hear PF talking about a popularity contest. You can only test your popularity if everybody voted, not the way it is where only PF members are voting and others have lost hope in voting due to high poverty levels and PF think people are voting for them.
2. Talk about your party and not about GBM, the guy has left your party. It is called civility to talk about your issues and not your neighbours (check the word civility in the dictionary again)

THE UPND said the PF will have a rude shock after losing the Kasama seat.
UPND chairperson for strategy & mobilization Request Muntanga said the PF structures in Kasama have collapsed after its former MP, GBM, was appointed UPND VP for administration. He said the ruling party was living in denial that a popular political figure had ditched them…..
Muntanga said the assessment by the party had shown that UPND were headed for victory.
