Kitwe United legend and club assistant coach Chisala “Njonginjo” Mwandama has hailed the ever demanding supporters for accepting a frustrating 1-1 draw against FQMO Mining in Sunday’s FAZ Division One North match at Garden Park Stadium in Kitwe.

Kitwe came from a goal down to force a draw in this Week 22 match watched by a sizable crowd.

In a post-match interview, Chisala said club supporters did well to remain peaceful when their club was down for most part of the match.

“I want to thank our supporters for being peaceful even when we were down. They kept cheering us and were peaceful,” he said.

Mwandama described the home draw as disappointing for the Buchi Boys.

“We are not happy with this result because we planned to win. We are in a tough league so we need to win home games,” the retired striker said.

Mwandama added:”We are now looking forward to our next match against Gomes Wanderers in Ndola.”

Ninth placed Kitwe have 31 points, 14 points behind leaders Kalulushi Modern Stars as at Week 22.

Kalulushi maintained their top spot after a 1-0 win over Gomes Wanderers thanks to a solitary strike from Cephas Handavu in Kalulushi.
