Kalaba features in Khartoum defeat

Share

Rainford Kalaba was the only Zambian star in action for TP Mazembe in the CAF Champions League on Sunday in Sudan.

The Zambia captain played the full 90 minutes in Mazembe’s 1-0 away loss to Al Hilal in Khartoum in both teams penultimate Group A match.

His compatriots midfielder Nathan Sinkala and striker Given Singuluma were both on the bench.

Mazembe are second in Group A tied on 8 points with Al Hilal.

A draw for the DR Congo club in their final game against third placed Moghreb Tetouan of Morocco, who recently signed defender Aaron Katebe on a two-year deal, on September 11 will be enough for them to advance to the semifinals.

  1. Does it mean our players are becoming rejects? Look in southafrica the number of zambian players is shrinking and look at mazembe coz we used to hav many zambians players but now only three,:

    • Maybe it is the sign of changing PF government. Performance of a government can be measured in many ways. How can a player concentrate and shine at his foreign club when his family back home is always asking for help? Can imagine how many family members depends on Emmanuel Mayuka, how can be a consistent? PF must go.

  2. Zambian Football is finished …there no vision at FAZ for nurturing youth or grassroots just corrupt power hungry empty suits at Football House in it for personal gain.
