MMD National Women’s Affairs Chairperson Faustina Sinyangwe has urged MMD leader Nevers Mumba to immediately step down as party leader.

Ms. Sinyangwe argues that Dr. Mumba is a loner and has failed to sale and re-organize the former ruling party.

Ms. Sinyangwe has told ZNBC News in a walk in interview in Kitwe on Wednesday that the MMD under Dr. Mumba is doomed adding that the later can never win any election.

Ms. Sinyangwe says the recent decimal performance of the MMD in recent parliamentary by elections is a source of worry.

She adds that the MMD under Dr. Mumba might never win the 2016 General elections.

The MMD National Women’s Affairs Chairperson said the MMD is still a popular party with a lot of followers and as such needs a new leader.

But MMD Spokesperson Rapheal Nakachuinda has told ZNBC News in a separate interview that Ms. Sinyangwe is an expelled MMD member.

Mr. Nakachinda says Ms. Sinyangwe has no right to comment on internal matters in the former ruling party.

  1. REVISION OF ELECTRICITY TARIFFS
Notice is hereby given that Zesco proposes to revise its electricity tariffs from 1 November 2015 by more than 200%. Wapya Munzhi

    • Critico, It is not caring. The adjustment is inevitable considering that it is being applied to the consumers outside the T1 100KWH to 500KWH band. This will allow for investment in electricity generation if tarriffs are realistic.
Now on the article, Ba faus, nabakota, but still I agree with her MMD is not going anywhere with Nevers Sekwila Mumba driving it into the wall!

  2. REVISION OF ELECTRICITY TARIFFS
Notice is hereby given that ZESCO proposes to revise its electricity tariffs from 1 November 2015. Inflation of untold proportion and economic collapse of this Country. Check the Times of Zambia newspaper for today.

  3. what has killed MMD is failure to accept reality by the leadership and unwilling to listern to members , above all unnecesary sturbonness by leadership. at the rate events are moving, MMD is following the foot steps of UNIP. If nothing happens, MMD will be just a name like UNIP. Leardership in MMD must do self introspection and act accordingly otherwise, they may find their names listed among the failures which may not auger well for their future engagements. just an Advice

  4. MMD should blame RB, Muhabi & his cohorts. we advised them to elect Felix Mutati to led them out of the woods. but the fell for the sweet talker. Political parties are not churhes where people are scared to contribute tithe or something bad would happen. No it requires mobilisation & outreaching far beyond for resources. MMD take a leaf from Britains’ labour party. They are working to:-)come out of the dodrums.:-)we need MMD. I still remember the 1990s wind of change. brought by food riots & unza students.

  5. MMD was not going to bounce back into state house immediately. So the strategy behind closed doors should have been long term (post 2021) but then most of our leaders’ attitude is to live for the day.
Raphael is also wrong. MMD is a national institution. You don’t need to be a member to comment on it.

  6. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IN MMD IS THAT IT HAS BEEN MADE OF MEMBERS WHO REALLY DO NOT BELIVE IN DEMOCRACY. IF THE PERSON THEY WANT DOES NOT WIN AN ELECTION THEN THEY DECLARE ‘KANSHI NAFILEKA’ AND LAUCH ASSULTS TO MAKE SURE THAT ELECTEDPERSON FAILS.

LIKE OBAMA, NEVERS CAME AS AN OUTSIDER AND WAS NEVER EASILY ACCEPTED BY MOST OF THE SENIOR MEMBERS OF THE PARTY BUT WAS ACCEPTED BY THE GRASSROOTS. IF THE SO-CALLED SENIOR MEMBERS, COULD COME DOWN FROM THEIR HIGH HORSES AND HUMBLY ACCEPT THAT NEVERS IS THE NEW LEADER AND GIVE HIM ALL THE SUPPORT, MMD WOULD NOT BE THE WAY IT IS TODAY.

IT’S NOT TOO LATE. THEY CAN ALL RALLY BEHIND HIM AND MAKE THE PARTY STRONG AGAIN. BUT RIGHT NOW EACH ONE OF THEM IS WEIGHING HIS OR HER CHANCES IN OTHER PARTIES. OGHER PEOPLE WILL RISE UP AND RALLY…
