Man assaults pregnant sister

Share

pregnant-bellyTHE Ndola Magistrate’s Court heard that a 33-year-old man allegedly assaulted his pregnant younger sister who was keeping him when she warned him about taking strangers home.
This is in a matter where Rashid Ibrahim, a truck driver, is charged with assaulting his sister, Zeinab Ibrahim, 27. It is alleged that on July 6, this year, in Ndola, Rashid assaulted Zeinab, thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm.
Narrating her ordeal, Zeinab, of plot number 1, on Mushili Road, told Ndola magistrate Moffat Phiri that she was the guardian to her elder brother, but a problem arose when she admonished him against taking strangers in the house considering a lot of break-in cases in their area.
She said Rashid then dragged her from her bedroom and hit her face against one of the door frames. Zeinab, who was pregnant at the time of the incident, said she bled profusely through her nose.
Agness Mulushi, the mother of both the complainant and accused, testified that on the material day, Rashid phoned, informing her that she needed to travel to Ndola with a coffin to bury Zeinab who he was about to kill.
Ms Mulushi, 55, who lives in Kapiri Mposhi, said her son also abused her verbally and called her a witch who does not answer his phone calls.
She testified in court that she immediately started off for Ndola because she was disturbed by the call.
She arrived at Zeinab’s house around 21.00 hours and found her lying in a pool of blood. Ms Mulushi said she immediately rushed her daughter to the hospital because her pregnancy was at an advanced stage.
But in cross-examination, Rashid said his mother and sister were telling lies against him because they never liked him and wanted him to go to jail.
He also said he was a Muslim and that fighting was not allowed in his religion.
But Zeinab said she did not want her brother to go to jail but rather wanted him disciplined for his deeds.
Trial continues and Rashid is remanded in custody.

  1. ati fighting was not allowed in his religion. Tiyeni uko, when you’re busy strapping yourselves with bombs and blowing up innocent people and decapitating those that are different from you. Mtschew!!

  2. A loser of a man. At 33 years old you’re living in your younger sister’s home and then you don’t even have enough respect for her to follow the house rules. It’s her house and she wants it to be the way she wants it to be. You want to live in somebody’s house and do whatever you want with no regard to how the owner feels? Ala. Ukutumpa! Let him go to jail because next time it’ll will be too late to call the police; She will be dead.
