Mighty fails to beat Nakambala

Mufulira Wanderers and Nakambala Leopards on Friday afternoon battled to a 1-1 draw in a FAZ Super Division match at Shinde Stadium in
Mufulira.

Both goals came through in the first opening 15 minutes of this round 27 match watched by an encouraging crowd in Kantanshi.

Wanderers led just after a minute with forward Eric Chibuye finding the back of the net to excite home supporters.

However, the home sides lead lasted for 14 minutes as Nakambala equalised through Elijah Banda on 15 minutes.

It was a game in which both teams missed some great opportunities before settling for a stalemate.

Wanderers and Nakambala have now failed to outwit each other as the first round match finished with the same score-line on June 6 in
Mazabuka.

Meanwhile, this draw has pushed Mighty from sixth into fifth place with 42 points from 27 matches played.

On the other hand, relegation-threatened Nakambala remain stuck in 15th place although they have increased their tally to 24 points.
