Zambia beat The Mambas Mozambique 3-0 to move on be step closer to securing their first CHAN qualification since 2009.

The win at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Saturday means Zambia need just a draw away n Maputo on October 24 to ensure they end a seven-year hiatus from the competition they missed in 2011 and 2014.

All three goals came in the last 15 minutes of the second half to hand Zambia a comfortable advanatge into the final leg on October 24 in Maputo.

Winston Kalengo headed in the first goal in the 77th minute off a Spencer Sautu cross.

Three minutes later, 18-year-old Lusaka Dynamos striker Conlyde Luchanga, who replaced Festus Mbewe in the 69th minute, made a dream debut when he headed in the second off a Charles Zulu cross.

Sautu completed rout with a fine volley in the 90th minute.

A draw this coming Saturday in Maputo will see Zambia back at CHAN since winning Bronze at the inaugural tournament hosted by Cote d’Ivoire in 2009.

  1. Poor poor poor reporting and editing. What schools operate in Zed kanshi? What the **** is this: “Zambia beat The Mambas Mozambique 3-0 to move on be step closer to securing their first CHAN qualification since 2009.” And the editor the proof reader the autocorrect all couldnt detect such blatant mistakes!!
Then the reporter goes on to say: The win at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Saturday means Zambia need just a draw away n Maputo on October 24.
I bet he calls that interpretation but it is half baked inept interpretation. The win means Zambia can afford to lose 2-0 in Mozambique and still go through. Drawing would of course mean they go through we all know that.

    • @Ridgeway Liwena:
Who the fu.ck do you think you are on the English language! English is all about communication and nothing more than that! To the Editors, proof reader, etc English is a second, third or even fourth language and they are doing their best to keep idi.ots like you doing cleaning jobs in the diaspora informed and entertained.
It is disingenuous and inde.ed utmost stupid of your to make disparaging remarks about our poorly paid journalists. In fact even your English is hopeless and below par – given your horrible accent, no English person can even hear what are saying! Just an ar.sewhore you are!!

    • Ngaimwe boss. You have used “interpretation” twice in the same short sentence. Ninshi you know English better?
And what do you mean by “the autocorrect”? Te Chibembafye cho nomba? Na kasungu kaingilamo ati “nabomfya big word apa nomba”. Lol.

    • Ba Ridgeway Liwena
You wrote, ‘And the editor the proof reader the autocorrect all couldnt detect such blatant mistakes!!’ I believe we can say alot about your sentence construction boss!

    • A study conducted by world linguistic agency rates Zambia as 2nd best English speaking country in Africa after Uganda, what a shame?

    • Ridgeway Liwena is very right. Chilyata is the arse-hole here. He is so jealous of people in the diaspora he cant respond rationally but only through insults. Tebaku blokele ukuya. Any language is about communication so anyone who becomes a communicator in that language has to be excellent not average, let alone below average. These guys are in the communication business in English language and as such they need to polish their communication skills to the utmost. If they are poorly paid that doesnt warrant poor reporting. Elyo imwe ba GK a critic doesnt need to be better otherwise you should sack all those sports journalists. Autocorrect is a term used in IT to mean an automatic word corrector. Reminder: Insults should come out of the arse not the mouth.

  2. Comment: Before we fast and pray we r able to wire them like that what about after fasting and praying, it will be ma 10 to 0

  4. WELL DONE BUT MOZAMBIQUE WERE BETTER THAN US BALL PASSING,MIDDLE FIELD,ETC WE NEED TO STOP~BEING SELFISH WANTING TO MAKE A NAME BY SCORING(ITS ALLOWED BUT NOT SAME PERSON FIRING HIGH BALLS ONE AFTER THE OTHER ~HIGH BALL FROM BEHIND TO FRONT,WE WERE LOOSING POSSESSION~SHOOTING AT THE GOAL VERY POOR WHICH IS NOW 1/20 WILL BE GOOD SHOT~POOR PASSES.GOOD SPEED, TEAM WORK AND SKILL ARE OKAY. KEEP IT UP.

  5. LT

The third goal was not a volley. A volley is a ball that is hit or scored in mid air after a pass from another player. In short volleys are not hit or scored whilst a ball is rolling on the ground.

Another point ba LT. Please do not publish your articles before you proof ready. The are a series of typographical errors. Please email me to proof ready your articles if you dont mind.

  6. You are wrong ma Guys about the English language. Do Indians know how to speak the Queen’s language? What about Chinese and other Asians? Imwe you think by speaking English sometimes even better than the English you believe you are educated? Ukutumpa indeed ukutumpisha! Ine if I was in leadership, I would encourage my Zambian children to STOP learning the English language atase bushe abasungu bena balishiba ukulanda ichibemba and/or Tumbuka?

  7. Balumendo nothing wrong with condemning the author how do you think they will improve ofyo tatuwinina ama international journalist awards our journalists are shit.

  8. Journalism at its worst; next the writer will be reporting if Zambia wins this weekend they will qualify for the next two World Cups automatically.
