Ex-FAZ treasurer Kelvin Mutafu: What he said

Share

Here is ex-FAZ treasurer Kelvin Matufu’s statement from earlier in the week prior to FAZ reaction.

BY KELVIN MUTAFU
FAZ Treasurer

Morning people, I thought to share with you something for the day.

Early last year I made an attempt to share part of the MTN money with the lower division teams. This received a lot of resistance from certain circles within the executive.

After my investigation it was revealed that a deliberate policy was in place to make lower division teams financially unsustainable so that some people can continue to donate cheaper balls and jerseys for their popularity.

Come next year the league sponsorship money has to trickle down to lower teams whether some people like it or not for as long as I will be treasurer.

For those who attended the last AGM an attempt was made to push K220,000 to be allocated for replicas. As an association we have never made any profits from these sales as it benefitted a few selfish members.

I reversed it at the last AGM, a move which was not liked by some people and allocated that amount to women teams because I knew the beneficiaries of that allocation.

This did not sit well in the minds of some Exco and tension between me and them continued as I was blocking most attempts to siphon funds from the association.

Currently a huge syndicate of ticket sales is underway as they have blocked Vane Technologies/Shoprite to go Compu ticket.

Institutions I had concluded deals with to handle e ticket sales at the a preference to lifting tickets from South Africa.

We have continued to make losses as tickets cant reconcile as the huge part go in wrong hands at the expense of the association. This move which I have been fighting led to my being removed as Match Organizing Committee Chairperson.

Brethren let us not condone thieving. The people who are busy hosting clubs are using stolen money and can’t survive without FAZ as it is their livelihood.

Help fight this by pushing for my retaining because I won’t rest until we expose the shoddy deals.

We lost the Nike deal because of allowing one individual to reproduce the kit from China of which sales were being shared among individuals as a result we have no kit supplier.

Nike was the best deal as we were the only African team dressed by Nike.

To lose it because of corruption pains. Let us wake up gentlemen and call a spade a spade and not a big spoon.

Have a lovely Wednesday and let us focus as we play our last games and say no to corrupt individuals at Football House.

  1. Now that we know that FIFA is not above reproach, it is time for ACC and the Audit General’s Office to investigate these issues raised by the former custodian of FAZ money. It has gone on for too long.

    • You don’t even need a AG office to investigate..you simply need a one man accountant firm and he will show you the money train as Galu is too pompous and arrogant to think he can be investigated anybody hence the reason he is now trying to be near the president and the gov’t at every opportunity. In all honesty where in World of football have you seen Nike making such awful jerseys and how come we have changed the jersey but the training and off pitch gear is still the same…its day light robbery.

  2. If you have evidence courier the same to the American Government investigating fifa or is it after chewing you have been dumped why didn’t you give this information to the ACC when they investigated your president after all investigations are still on….

    • What evidence do you want him to give you the man was an accountant for Association…for f£$ksake…do you want someone to show you evidence that a sugar daddy is sleeping with you daughter? What is wrong with you people…can you not see everything he has stated in that article is evidently clear…do you want him to steal ledgers and invoices?
You are happy to be robbed as you are docile people happy to wallow in your ignorance of hero worshiping.

  3. You see you docile zombies when tell you that Zambian Football has been hijacked by the selfish Galu and company…they will resist any advancement in development as it cuts in the share as FAZ is a gravy train for them….here is a treasurer who has had enough do you know the significance of that before you call him bitter and jealous. This is the selfsame reason why grassroots football doesn’t develop in Zambia because the are crocodiles eating everything.
When are you docile people going to WAKE UP and stop tolerating this corruption and day light robbery by Galu.

  4. Read the last paragraphs and let it sink in your domes on what the national team is wearing if they don’t have Nike deal any more, I’ll copy and paste below it if you are too lazy to scroll up;

    • @peter njobvu
You have a miniature little brain of very small lizard that only sees two things either prey or predator….do you not see the bigger picture here? This is the selfsame thing I have been highlighting time and time all along; sponsorship money does not trickle down as it ends up in pockets of administrators and contracts end up going to friends companies…do you not see retrogression there. Modern Associations have subsidiary companies that deal with management side of things..not administrators. Does everything need to involve a woman or a mistress in your myopic world for your to feel the pain…useless waste of space..I wonder why I’m replying to you anyway!

  5. This is the legacy of Kalusha. Corruption allegations by FIFA into his personal account, bailiffs harrassing FAZ, FAZ failure to pay salaries for a coach, FAZ insisting on tickets being obtained in SA instead of the process using e tickets from centers in Zambia.
Bwalya is as corrupt as lungu, that FAZ he runs by remote control is in a mess. just from TV rights, ticket sales and sales of kit to the public, FAZ and football in general should be flourishing in Zambia but corruption and missmangment are taking their toll.

  6. It is frightening how Zambians shove politics into everything. Peoples’ quality of life has deteriorated precisely because of this attitude of putting good [big] men ahead of good laws. I fret when I think that simple things are always superseded by personal aggrandizement and useless posturing. And for what!? It is as if you were designed to live forever! Disgusting. In the meantime, this Treasurer must turn whistleblower because I am sure he knows more than he has just uttered here. Even his statement is dodgy – like he is speaking Bemba.

  7. He is campaigning. !!…if you can’t fight from inside, how do you hope to fight from outside? This guy is a coward, take them on and ensure the right thing is done. You are the Treasurer, do not release the money if you are not convinced about any project. And don’t use social media to complain, write letters to the GS of FAZ,with your concerns so that you get official responses. Document everything officially. When the crunch comes, you will be able to show the effort that you put in to stop bad things from happening. How can you be Treasurer for FAZ and you don’t have control of the accounts, if tickets don’t reconcile, you are responsible for that. Stop passing the buck! !!!
