President Edgar Lungu has said that he will invite all stakeholders across the country to witness his assent to the Constitution of Zambia Amendment Bill.
Speaking in Kasama shortly before he left for Kawambwa yesterday, President Lungu said that the PF government has fulfilled its promise to give the people of Zambia a constitution that they wanted.
“The PF means business and you can see what happened recently when they thought we were playing, but we gave them the constitution. Now they are backtracking and asking for some of the clauses approved by Parliament to be removed,” he said.
He said he will sign the document as soon as he returns to Lusaka and if the Government Printing Department and the National Assembly have completed their part.
He also reiterated his appeal to Zambians to preserve and maintain peace.
President Lungu said the police also deserve the support of all citizens to discharge their duties of maintaining peace and order.
He thanked the people of Northern Province for being peaceful and urged the youth to ensure that they remain calm.
“I want to thank you the people of Northern Province for maintaining law and order and this is the way it should be and you should not despair but stand on the truth and always seek peace. We are the ones that can maintain peace. Some of the opposition leaders are cowards and they are not wise, you can’t blame them for that. So, when they want to come back, just welcome them,” said President Lungu.
Meanwhile, President Edgar Lungu has said that Rainbow party leader Wynter Kabimba is not a factor in Zambian politics.
President Lungu wondered how Mr Kabimba rates himself in politics for him to tell Zambians to vote out the PF government in the 2016 general elections.
The Head of state was responding to questions from journalists shortly after his arrival at city airport on Wednesday evening.
President Lungu said that he is happy that people are appreciating his leadership style which he said is inspired by God.

Chachine, I have done my research and analysis which I cant disclose here, its GAME OVER for HH and UPND and they know it to well. Remember even the registered numbers in Southern Province will be reduced drasticall after ECZ does the verification because we all know that they were double registrations and under age, all those have to be cleaned up by ECZ. Southern Province doesnt have those numbers and ECZ has to do its work professionally before the final register is stamped on.
Can you honestly belive that Southern Province can outnumber Lusaka, Copperbelt and Northern Provinces? One will collapse when ECZ announces the verified registered numbers, crooks wont work for HH and UPND.

Its the process of bringing about the new Constitution that was in contention – and still is, in my books. A referendum based Constitution is less subject to future ‘willy nilly’ amendments. The fact the clauses were put before those MPs is what was frightening in terms of the legitimacy of the Constitution. If many of the clauses have remained, its only a coincidence. The methodology could have easily seen a rejection of the significant submissions that people made. For me, this was still a mere amendment exercise in terms of process.
Now its the issue of stakeholders why -too primitive . This is a BIG invent pipo need to know that changes have been done. Actually its supose to be in a stadium where the president can address the nation announce what has been done and what is remaining,how it will be done and how pipo can help so that it is done ie in coming election + referendum. A rift is looming in the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) following the passing of the running mate clause in the constitution bill by the National Assembly last week.
