It is unfortunate that some politicians have continued starving Zambians with important information regarding their respective political parties. This is evidenced by UNPD leader Hakainde Hichilema’s failure to address the people yesterday when he featured on the Hot FM’s special program.
Mr. Hichilema failed to provide the necessary information that is important to the Zambian people but has instead continued to attack the current government baseless. He failed to provide leadership and solutions on the current challenges facing our country but instead continued with the politics as usual mentality of just attacking for the sake of it.
Much as I appreciate that Zambia is currently facing challenges both social and economical, it is not an excuse for the UNPD president to encourage Zambians to become swindlers by telling them to get money from the PF and ask them to vote for the UPND instead. The people of Zambia are looking for quality leadership that will govern the country in a corrupt free manner and ensure that peace and unity is promoted in the interest of one Zambia one Nation.
As someone vying for the highest office in the land, Mr. Hichilema should stop encouraging Zambians to be corrupt in their dealings as that is tantamount to promoting corruption and electoral malpractice in the nation especially that the country will soon be going to the polls. Mr. Hichilema should also not mislead Zambians by claiming that only an economist like him can be trusted with the running of the country’s affairs.
I want to remind Mr. Hichilema and indeed other politicians that what the Zambian people are looking for are solutions and not mere rhetoric and the blame games which have continued among politicians. Mr. Hichilema accused President Edgar Lungu of having failed the Zambian people especially on the constitution making process. I find it strange that Mr. Hichilema has seen everything wrong with the just amended constitution which has the clauses that he himself wanted in the first place such as the 50+1 and presidential running mate among others.
Much as we may not be completely happy with what has been done so far regarding the constitution, I believe that there is need to give credit where it is due. It is highly unfair for Mr. Hichilema to claim that no positive result has yielded from the constitution making process. Politicians should realise that mere politicking and condemning government alone will not help address the challenges being faced in the country.
I want to end by urging all political party leaders to desist from issuing hurtful statements and be truthful as they engage the electorate ahead of this year’s tripartite elections. If the opposition feels that president Edgar Lungu and the PF government have failed to run the affairs of the nation, it is only wise that they are seen to be providing solutions instead of merely criticizing. I therefore challenge the political parties to tell the Zambian people what they will do for our country.

We all know the electorate is poor and PF will entice them with gifts. It is unrealistic to expect them to refuse these gifts hence our encouraging them to accept the gifts and vote the other way just like Sata did.
If your political opponent is lieing and bragging that he has improved the lives of Zambians, the best way to stop him in his tracks is to attack him head on, that is why we are attacking Lungu. We will not allow him to tell lies to gain political mileage. That’s how politics works

This is not the first time HH has failed to sell himself. I have listened to him several times on radio. All i get from him is mere politicking and criticism. He has failed to categorically provide credible solutions to the many challeges the country is going through. Upto to now, I am still waiting on what he will do about ZESCO load shedding. All he says is that there PF cadres running ZESCO, thats why we have load shedding. There are a lot of other questions HH has failed to give credible answers to. I am not happy with the state of affairs in my country, and i want change. But to vote for HH,hmmmm, am not sure.

HH this, HH that, not even other opposition leaders such as Nawakwi, Mumba, etc are not mentioned. This HH is something else. Who doesn’t know him? Who doesn’t want to mention his name? Many are earning a living and raising families from mentioning, insulting and just talking about HH! E.g. the likes of Tayali, Mumbi Phiri, Chama, Sunday Chanda. Zambia has 7 official tribes and out of those, 5 of them overwhelmingly voted for HH in Jan 2015 and yet there is one tribal grouping which believes it is more Zambian than all the other tribes and that only someone from this tribe (or a stooge of theirs) should rule this country. They call others tribal and yet they are the worst tribalists in Zambia. I’m glad that ECM has sidelined this tribal grouping and included all other wellmeaning Zambian tribes in his Govt. Viva ECL!!

Like Miles Sampa said the only opposition threatening PF is UPND. HH lost by 35 000 people during the 20th Jan 2015 election. Southern province has registered more 400 000 people. Copperbelt people have lost confidence in PF, only miners drive the economy in the minning areas like copperbelt.

I wish to respect your faith in Lungu at the outset. Looking at the level of suffering, despair and disillusionment in the Zambia of 8th January 2016, it will take a miracle to have Lungu as president for this country after elections. Kaunda and Rupiah overrated themselves and failed to figure that Zambians can overreact to economic doldrums. What we face today is worse than what we faced in 1991 and 2011 and if you are honest and sincere, you will agree that the economy has been gravely mismanaged and for a person of your high caliber to still have faith in the sham called PF is simply troubling to say the least.

@katongo nsambe, have you done an opinion poll to determine that Nevers has overtaken HH in public perception? With his party cleaved in two and RB getting the biggest portion, how is this going to happen?. Just a year ago, the number of votes Nevers got were less that the rejected ballots! Nevers may have appreciated in the public eye, but not to overtake HH. It takes a long time my man to get a public nod, the road is long and torturous. Nevers has always been a job seeker, that is why despite being gassed in Lundazi, he still found himself trotting to the stadium. Sata would not have done that, and neither would HH. Nevers is looked at by PF as largely harmless, that is why all PF guns a trained at HH and not him. Get your facts right, if you have any.
