Republican President Edgar Lungu says the inclusion of the 50% plus one vote clause in the constitution will enable all political parties to work together.
Speaking in Chikankata district when he addressed Residents after inspecting infrastructure projects in area today, President Lungu, however, said that some political party leaders will be consigned to the bench forever after the August 11th General election.
He says it is worrying that some political party leaders who claim to have a lot of wealth have failed to even construct a simple clinic or community school.
President Lungu says rich politicians want to be in power so that they can protect their businesses and get richer than the majority Zambians.
And President Lungu says people should not panic over who will be his running mate because there are so many people to choose from who can deliver according to the expectations of the people.
Mr. Lungu has also pledged that the PF will demonstrate that it is a peaceful party by conducting peaceful campaigns because the people of Zambia want peaceful elections.
Speaking earlier when he met Chieftainess Mwenda and Chief Nalwama, President Lungu thanked the two traditional leaders for welcoming them amidst reports that the PF Government is not welcome in the area.
President Lungu says he is delighted that chiefs in the country do not discriminate anyone on any basis saying they are there for all people.
And Chief Nalwama says such reports that the PF Government is not welcome in Southern Province are misleading because chiefs support the government of the day.

Dull president. Lungu doesn’t know that its the private sector run by businessmen like GBM and HH that builds the economy through taxes and employing people. Zambia is the only country in the world that does not honour its hard working businessmen. Any rich man in Zambia suddenly becomes a Satanist. We are so resigned to being poor that hard work has become a curse. Nigerians are proud of their Dangote. Zambians would rather waste their time dancing for Lungu hoping for handouts instead of spending time building themselves and families through hard work. Zambia never used to be like this. We have sunk so low that I feel confused about just what hit us.

Lungu does not inspire me at all with his utterances and he seems to believe alienating himself from the rich is the best way to govern. If anything he should have been promoting policies that would encourage more Zambians to generate wealth! He behaves like the rich do not enrich through taxes the national coffers where projects he exalts himself with draw the funding needed! Just like the way he does not listen to the commercial farmers who contribute more than 65 % to the national food basket! This Lungu is one very divisive leader who up to now has not awoken from disbelief that he presides over national welfare. Failing to make the grade as a top flight lawyer on the Zambian scene should not be passport for him to disparage others who have made it through working hard!
So nothing was said about the infrastructure development that was being inspected? Then this was a compaign. By the way, where is Lucky Mulusa who was employed for such?
My advise to Jameson and other beers Lungu is that cut down in your drinking and socializing and who knows, you may just accumulate wealth like HH. iWE lUNGU, understand that HH is an individual and not an institution. You were inspecting government funded and not Lungu funded projects. HH pays more tax than you will ever pay and that money went towards funding those same projects you are using as campaign material.
