Today’s Message: Make the Right Plans

Today’s Scripture

“May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.”
(Psalm 20:4, NIV)

Make the Right Plans

The Bible tells us that faith has action with it. A lot of times people say they believe something, but with their actions, they’re doing just the opposite. For example, some people make plans to get the flu. They believe it and speak it. They say, “Every year I get the flu.” Or, “It’s going to be bad this year.” They expect it, and a few months later, they’ve got it. Their faith worked!

Instead of making plans for the worst, why don’t you make plans for the best? Why don’t you make plans for the Word of God to come to pass in your life? The scripture says, “No weapon formed against me is going to prosper…a thousand may fall at my side, ten thousand at my right hand; but it will not come near my dwelling!”

Today, make plans according to the Word of God. As you make right plans, you’ll see right things come to pass in your life. You’ll rise up in victory and enjoy the blessings God has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today

“Father, search my heart. Help me see any area where my faith is working in the wrong direction. Let my plans be Your plans so I can walk and live in the abundant life You have prepared for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

    • What is the point of prayer? Surely your god knows what you are going to pray for beforehand – and has already decided on his course of action. Is it not absurd to think that you can persuade god to change his mind?

    • Religion is the cry of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people.

The abolition of religion as the illutionary happiness of the people is the demand for their real happiness. To call on them to give up their illusions about their condition is to call on them to give up a condition that requires illusions. The criticism of religion is, therefore, in embryo, the criticism of that vale of tears of which religion is the halo.

    • @lenshina, you are entitled to your opinion. I am rich, educated but I believe in God and his son Jesus Christ. You are probably the one oppressed as you struggle to make ends meet in the diaspora

    • There are thousands of different religions in the world, and in the vast majority of cases people follow the dominant faith of the culture they were born into. Is it not arrogant and self-centred to think that your faith is the “true” one and all the others are false?

  1. Just because the Bible is old does not mean it’s true. Believing it is wishful thinking or lack of critical thinking skills

  2. I practiced Christianity devoutly for 20+ years Slowly but surely, things I once believed just disappeared before my eyes. I simply no longer find it believable.

  3. SINKAMBA WISDOM – Almighty heavenly father our God and Mighty king of kings. To day this morning I do pray that let president Edgar Lungu stop endangering the lives of peaceful ns. Stop ECL from inciting Zambians to rise against each other.
You are a God of mercy tell Lungu to stop the life of pretense. Let Lungu speak the truth matching with his deeds. As Zambian people we are praying for peaceful elections but PF and ECL with their panga boys are diving the nation. See what happened at Ndola airport where a Zambian citizen and other foreign and business people where made to be stressed for Pf cadres taking control of the airport. God of mercy I pray for powerful nations like USA, Britain, Germany, Russia, etc, to quickly warn Lungu to cease behaving like a cadre but be a president…

  4. Research has shown that just as there is the Law of Gravity in natural Science, there is the Law of Belief in Psychology. Just as a free falling body will accelerate at 9.81m/s2 towards the centre of the Earth in natural science, whatever you believe with feeling, to the degree to which you believe, becomes your reality in Psychology. Man was wonderfully created with this free mind, like a special computer program but much much more smarter. And yet in the grand scene of the universe, Earth is like a spec of dust. Awesome!

  5. Oh Lord, my plan is to serve others in your name. Except for prayer, I have no other means. Hence, I pray that you hear my prayer that all Zambians unite and pressure the government of Zambia to accord Joseph Mubanga, the little boy with the unknown growths, medical treatment at the clinic in South Africa where all the children of God from the Christian nation of Zambia are entitled to go. In the name of Jesus, I pray, amen!

  6. This is great advice and there’s nothing wrong with thinking positive. Sometimes life has a way of surprising us so that even the most carefully thought out plans have to change. But if you orient yourself towards God, you might find things work out even better than you could have planned!
