Catherine Phiri excited after WBC troumph

Catherine Phiri is still soaking her win in the wake of her WBC women’s bantamweight title victory.

Catherine beat Yazmin Rivas via a 7th round technical knockout after the latter suffered a cut on her following a but of heads.

“I am very happy and can not explain this excitement,” Catherine told Fightnews.com

“I have achieved what many boxers in the World have failed to do.

“I thank my coach, my manager and everyone who supported me.”

Catherine’s win came in her first return to the ring since May 2, 2015 when she suffered her debut professional defeat to relinquish her WBC interim title to Christina McMahon whose reign lasted just that fight before losing to Alicia Ashley of the USA in New York on October 29.

Her record is at 11 wins and one defeat.

Meanwhile, Catherine is expected to arrive back in Zambia on Tuesday an immediately after landing meet President Edgar Lungu at State House.

Congrats to Catherine …my advice to her is to get another trainer if she wants to hold on to that belt; I am not a trainer but any challengers have observed by now that the girl exposes her self every time she punches and she can also put more power in those punches just by swinging those hips…watch Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard or Marciano on YouTube you may learn a thing or two.
