Veteran politician Vernon Mwanga has charged that the Zambia Centre for Inter-party Dialogue has become moribund and has questioned what the officials at the institution are doing.

Dr Mwanga said political parties in the country have not had any inter- party dialogue since 2001 when ZCID was established for the specific reason of promoting dialogue among political parties in the country.

He explained that the centre should be more active in bringing political parties together and ensure that they talk to each other as opposed to the current situation were parties are continually talking at each other.

He observed that political violence can be reduced by bring political players including those from the ruling party to a round table and agreeing on a number of things as leaders which can be implemented in all political parties.

The veteran politician is however hopeful that the centre will be activated in the nearest feature so that it can start hosting meetings and bring together both the opposition and the ruling party on a round table.

He said the centre was created to help broker peace and promote dialogue among political parties but that it has become inactive because the ruling party seems not to be interested in dialogue.

  1. I thought Dr Vj retired. started young and very promising its like the end if not careful will be …….. the other way round if not properly advised. pliz VJ be national not regional. join the group of elders that all political parties can see as fountain of knowledge.

    • What’s regional about dialogue? Please don’t use your tribal codewords for Tongas. At least he is not a thief!

  2. The comments & advice VJ gives is non partisan. Do you know its your tax that pays for ZCID. What’s wrong with asking them to do what they are paid for. You would only recognise his retirement if the guy was singing praises for Kadansa.

  3. GOOD COUNSEL DR. MWAANGA. YOU ARE REALLY PROVING TO US AS A TRUE POLITICAL VETERAN. YOU ARE GIVING POLITICAL STAKE-HOLDERS FREE ADVICE. WE ARE PICKING A LEAF FROM YOUR TIMELY ADVISES. YOU INDEED HAVE NOW CHANGED INTO AN HONEST PERSON WHO WANTS TO SEE A PROGRESSIVE ZAMBIA. VIVA CHANGE VIVA! WE SHALL SOON GET THERE.

  4. Who is not playing partsn politics? Who doesnt know that VJ suports HH? Do you have a heart for this man? look at how you are describing our president now if we do that to VJ becoz he is exposing himself to firing range. VJ and HH have bad records the best they can do is to allow pipo like mwitwa with clean names to grow.

  5. One wonders what some people S heads contain. Why attack VJ when he simply gives valuable advice to all and for the benefit of the nation

  6. Do these comments attract insult? All we are saying is VJ should start working on how best he can mend his name. We know how desprt you are for HH’s win but think of what happens if he loses . How is VJ going to look in the eyes of PF suporters? He should take a role of an elder not a cader.

    • @Peters: give us a break. Nobody is insulting Lungu, if we say, Lungu stole from his client, or he is a chakolwa. Those are facts. Try and refute them instead of throwing mud at innocent people. PF are panicking because Lungu narrowly won the last election. Since then his incompetence and lack of leadership have become obvious to all. He now has a track record of pathetic failure.

  7. ulelanda nga imbwa ifwele, who does not know you ba shikulu ba ba mwaanga with your dirty hands njala yamunyokola manje ayamba ma politics uzanya

  8. VJ is not giving free advise, he has an eye of an eagle. He is after something unless you are myopic or dont understand local politics. He has retired a few times but still comes back were he sees a chance of benefiting.

    • It is free advice because you don’t have to pay for it. We are fed with daily lies and rubbish from PFools who are on govt payroll and paid handsomely by the Zambian people. VJ has every right to express his opinion. You can listen to the “wisdom” of your PFoolish thugs if you want to.
