Chief Government Spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili says government has prioritised the construction of new power stations in Luapula and Northern Provinces that will end load shedding.

Mr. Kambwili, who is also Information Minister, says government has embarked on a number of power projects which are expected to produce over six thousand megawatts.

Meanwhile, Mr Kambwili has disclosed that government has in the past four years constructed 120 secondary and 34 hospitals.

Mr. Kambwili said this when he addressed a public rally at Independence Square in Kalulushi this afternoon.

And speaking at the same event, Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Rayford Mbulu said Kalulushi has in the past four years seen massive development.

And Patriotic Front Copperbelt Province Chairman Stephen Kainga has called for unity among ruling party members if they are to win this year’s general election.

And Patriotic Front Copperbelt Mobilisation Chairman Joe Malanji says President Lungu has managed the

transition period from 2015 to 2016 in an orderly manner.

At the same rally, scores of defectors from the opposition political parties joined the ruling party.

  1. Comment:Yes it duty of govment to devlop the country. Pf you hav tried within 5yrs as comparin to previous parties the project you hav under taken. we shall giv you more 15yrs so that you prov to us may GOD guides zambians.

    • Why aren’t you telling Zambians about the drought this year ? You selled the Mazie to your selfish friend mubage. This power stations will on work if dull Zambians vote for corrupt (PF) poverty family? So the will be Woking after elections? We aren’t dull . Zambia government is bankrupt due to corruption with (PF) poverty family in government. It’s 2016 not 1888 telling lies you dull , corrupt, known vision government.

    • FACT CHECK! “Mr Kambwili has disclosed that government has in the past four years constructed 120 secondary and 34 hospitals.”

It’s on a point of correctness on what Kambwili wants to make believe! Government may have completed the construction and/or repairs of secondary I believe “schools” and hospitals as a program started under the MMD government and still ongoing. The numbers can’t add up if Kambwili wants t tie the achievement to his PF government as if construction is from scratch. Otherwise I’d want to challenge him to give a listing!

    • Completion of a power plant takes 3-7yrs.. What is Chimbwili talking about?

Dr Mwaba has revealed that the ministry spends about US$330,000 (about K3.6 million) on having one patient treated abroad. Dr Mwaba, in his written submission to the PAC, which is chaired by Luena ADD member of parliament Getrude Imenda, had noted that K14.5 million was in 2014 spent on patients seeking treatment abroad when what was budgeted for, for such an undertaking was only K5 million. Commenting on Dr Mwaba’s claim that about K3.6 million was used for only one patient’s treatment abroad, TIZ president Lee Habasonda said the cost did not make sense. “It doesn’t make sense at all. I mean, that budget can build a hospital. How can you spend it on one person? I think it is a very sad situation. It’s only…

    • I DON’T LIVE IN ZAMBIA BUT I AM ALWAYS ON THE GROUND WITH INFORMATION AND COMMENTS ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENTS TAKING PLACE FROM ZAMBIANS, THEMSELVES. THIS HAS EVEN ENCOURAGED ME TO EMBARK UPON A PROJECT OR SO. IT’S REALLY ENCOURAGING TO NOTE THAT ALL THE DUST ROAD I USED IN 2009 ARE TARRED. WHEN I WENT TO ZAMBIA IN THE ABOVE YEAR I WAS SO DISCOURAGED BY THESE DUST ROADS WHICH MADE THE JOURNEY 10 TIME LONGER THAN NORMAL. BESIDES, BY THE TIME YOU REACH YOUR JOURNEYS YOUR BODY AND CLOTHES TURNED RED. IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT IS NORMAL, AND THINGS ARE EVEN GETTING BETTER. VIVA PF, VIVA LUNGU, VIVA LATE SATA, VIVA ALL HAPPY ZAMBIAN PEOPLE.

    • JUST A CAUTION ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF HYDRO POWER GENERATORS ON LUPULA AND CHAMBESHI RIVERS. GRZ SHOULD PLAN WELL IN ORDER TO CONSTRUCT MEANINGFUL POWER OUT PUT DAMS FROM EACH RIVER. THIS IS BECAUSE LUAPULA RIVER ITSELF IS ABLE TO PRODUCE EVEN UP TO 40MW OF POWER IF A GOOD INVESTMENT CAPITAL IS INVESTED IN THE PROJECT. IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THIS THE GRZ SHOULD EMPLOY REALLY GOOD SURVEYORS WHO SHOULD SURVEY THE RIVER(S) IN ORDER TO DETERMINE SUITABLY WHERE SUCH A DAM COULD BE CONSTRUCT IN ORDER TO PRODUCE THE HIGHEST POWER GENERATION RESULTS. THIS APPLIES ALSO TO CHAMBESHI RIVER.

    • PF are able to hold public rallies while the opposition sits idly by

This is really taking advantage of the system

      Opposition do something

    • If it is over flowing why have the spillway gates not been opened otherwise if the water overflows on top of the dam the structural integrity of the dam will be compromised? From past experience it took years for the dam to fill before the spillway gates could be opened. The dam was never designed to fill in one rainy season let alone a bad one. I can see one blogger has ticked your thread who must also be equally ignorant.

  2. DOES CAMPAINS STARTED BCOZ WE HEAR LUNGU WAS IN NAMWALA KAMWILI KALULUSHI BT PF WHAT U RE DOING IT’S BAD EVEN GOD WILL NT GIVE U BLESSING AND U RE JST WASTING YO TIME THE TIME HAS COME TO CHANGE AND DT LIE PIPO THAT THEY WERE DEFECTORS THERE’S NO NORMAL PERSON WHO CAN DEFECT TO PF U RE GOING, GIVE OPPOSITION PARTIES PEMITS SO THAT THEY START CAMPAINING ASWEL

  3. Ati 6000 megawatts..you are joking,on which rivers??? Only the gullible and un-informed can believe the stupid lies by these charlatans.

    • The total hydropower potential in Zambia is estimated at 6000MW. So that means every hydropower potential site in the country is being developed. Our installed capacity is about 2000 MW and that leaves a balance of 4000MW. What are we going to do with all that power? Export it? Ba Kambwili that is an overkill.

  4. Why would someone on the copperbelt in their right mind defect to PF when they have no jobs, No food, no school fees?? Come on gentlemen people on the CB are yet to face untold misery under the PF govt. The crack is from bottom to top meaning you just have to raze down the PF structure and rebuild with UPND

  5. Gara@ HH has a bigger hand in lose of jobs in mines. Just wait for 11 August you will be shocked. Why should I vote a promise leaving what I have seen?

  6. Comment:Conmen are going round cheating people when they have drastically failed zambians. Chishimba hippo chimbwi at one calling in program conducted by Lucifer frank bwalya proudly mentioned of no loadsheding in 3 yrs to come but it is worse now. Ubufi bulaya nokubwela. We need a leader with a clear, sober and visionary mind to redeem us. People do not be cheated that people defected. These dogs are busy biting even after losing track. Jobs are being lost every day and they are busy cheating of job creation. Let’s kick them out of power. Amashilu as stated by Lucifer bwalya have regrouped, my prayer is for voters to vote wisely for HH who is practical in prosperity.

  7. Comment:Firstly HH refused to be presdent appointed by the Late. Then God raised one amidist you .what you chose was not God s plan. Thats why HH came second it is missed opportunity.Only 5yrs projects hav been implemented despite plans were made by others but PF has done it. for drought its nature controlled. What kambwili is sayin is a plan and it. wil be implemented.Any way you ar in opposition so contnue doing the job but what you have been promised is encouraging you waf everything .if povert is in your home use plan B . i tel you lungu is stil a president and wil be after August.

  8. Up and down just want there own to be presido.they can’t accept anything.full of insults, when for once are you going to change?
