Ikelenge MMD MP Elijah Muchima has accused the PF government of trying to hoodwink people in his constituency into voting for them even after failing to deliver on their promises in the last five years.

Speaking in an interview Honourable Muchima said PF have failed to deliver development in his constituency but that have now taken heaped road construction equipment because they have realised that this is an election year and think that they can hoodwink the people in his constituency.

He said he has time and again called for the construction of the main road which connects the area to Mwinulunga as it becomes impassable during rainy season but the PF government has ignored his pleas.

He said compared to the previous government of MMD, the PF government has done literally nothing apart from putting up foundations in his constituency.

“Compared to what MMD under Mwanawasa did in my constituency before his second term, PF has done literally nothing apart from putting up foundations. Our priority in my Constituency is the road but what do they do? They wait until during election that’s when they go and heap equipment, during rainy season and it rains heavily even if they go to launch they want to hoodwink the people,” he said.

He added that people are not foolish and understand that the launch is meant to hoodwink them into voting for them.

“People are not foolish and understand, all this five years were have they been? We have simple things like bridges are being washed away, cassava fields are being washed away by the rains and school roofs are being blown away day in and day out and the government is unable to attend to those challenges,” he said.

Mr Muchima further bemoaned the lack of materials and teachers in schools in the constituency saying there is a serious shortage of teachers due to erratic distribution of teachers in his area.

He said even the introduction of computers in schools is ill timed as almost all the schools have no power of any kind hence making it impossible for anybody to teach computer classes.

    • Bottom Line Muchima is winning .
PF no go area for North western Province .
Whether you like it or not Mwinilunga and Ikelengi both Mps are winning .
      Just feeling his heavy weight.
      Rest my case
2016 August it’s Hon Muchima and Hon Katuka.
      Bye Bye PF

  1. Elijah Muchima has been an MP in MMD for more than 10 years and he wants to blame a party which has been in power for 4 years! Why didn’t he and his MMD do all these things he is talking about? He says the PF has put up foundations,at least there are even foundations -on foundations buildings will rise! Foundations were not there before! Levy,MMD were boasting of developing NW and have been voting for them so those are the people you should blame for your under development because with PF at least all districts in NW are being connected to the national grid which has never been the case before. Now you accuse government of piling equipment to hoodwink people? You want road construction to start without site mobilisation? Even cassava fields being washed away you blame PF!!

  2. But he is saying MMD in Mwanawasa did something better than PF. So MMd at least did something. What has PF done apart putting up Universities in areas where they were voted and nothing for North Western in spite of the economic activities in the province. What is really in Muchinga to deserve that which is not in North Western?

    • @ Kambwili, the University in Muchinga is for the whole country not for Muchinga Province that is why government has asked the UNZA to start running it. The development in Chinsali is because it is a new provincial HQ and similar infrastructure projects are going on in Choma which is new provincial HQ. All provinces have been promised Universities but they can’t all be built at once but it as to start somewhere! Connecting districts to the national power grid is one bid thing and just today Chief Nyakaseya of the same Mwinilunga was praising PF for starting to tar the Mwinilunga-Jimbe road for the first time since independence. Development has to be spread evenly and asking “What is really in Muchinga to deserve that which is not in North Western?”

    • ….continued from 3.1..asking “What is really in Muchinga to deserve that which is not in North Western?”asking “What is really in Muchinga to deserve that which is not in North Western?” – is quite misplaced. The people on the Copperbelt did not ask why certain types of development were taken to other parts of Zambia leaving their rural areas underdeveloped when the bulk of the wealth came from there! Why then don’t you ask ” What is in Western Province to have the most expensive road (road bridge) in Africa if not in the world constructed to link Mongu and Kalabo? Let us be fair with our judgements!

  3. Ba Honorable after five years you have just seen that today. What about the Constituency Development Fund(CDF) which is given to all constituency mwaliponganya mwa. Mwasensela elyo kawa.

  4. Where were you all this time only to come out and complain in an election year. Yes Pf will tell voters that they need to vote for a Pf mp so that they can align themselves with development not promises.

  5. Muchima, you the oposition stand in the way of development in your constituency. A brand new grader and a tipper truck remain unused at the Ikelenge council, yet the 20 km road btn Nyakaseya and Jimbe is a hellish one-and-half hour drive by proper four by four vehicle in the best of times! Just focus on running your Zambezi SourceLodge in Kabwe if you can’t work with govt. On this one wanama… wabepa …wabeja!

    • I beg to differ on that one. A government is for all Zambians regardless of their political affiliations, in fact they should work harder in areas where there is an opposing m p so that they can win favour from the electorates. Money used for projects is not party funds but government funds

    • At least he has a lodge than nothing .
      Mps lobby .
He’s winning whether you hate him
Both Mwinilunga and Ikelengi the sitting mps are returning their seats .
Go Go Muchima ‘ll vote for you mwani

  6. I laugh when l hear statements like this coming from Muchima. Very unfortunate!!! He is to blame and the pipo of ikelengi….you think by voting against PF you are doing yourselves a favour. Continue voting for the opposition and live with consequences as other areas keep developing! Be thankful now to PF that you are development projects; being connected to national power grid….after 50years of independence! You done even have a filling station to say the least!!! Wake up and vote wisely!!!

  7. Too much Mu kabanda!!!! I laugh when l hear statements like this coming from Muchima. Very unfortunate!!! He is to blame and the pipo of ikelengi….you think by voting against PF you are doing yourselves a favour. Continue voting for the opposition and live with consequences as other areas keep developing! Be thankful now to PF that you are seeing development projects; being connected to national power grid….after 50years of independence! You DONT even have a filling station to say the least!!! Wake up and vote wisely!!!

  8. It is zambian politics where an MP is working against the GRZ in his area so that GRZ appear to fall to gain political millage for himself at the expence of the people he represent. Mr MP why are u bring this issue now when the tearm is finishing. Very few people even knows you as an MP because you have not been speaking and what you are doing now is to react to the good that GRZ is trying to do.

  9. Yaba, does this man listen to himself? He wants every Government to do some thing in his constituency only and not other areas Why? Amazingly he says cassava fields are being washed away and roofs are being blown off does he want the Government to stop the rains? Indeed he was in Mwanawasa’s Government as a minister why diidnt he do what he is talking about today? Some people are just cry babies……..

    • Bring 100 PF mps against him ,he ‘ll beat them with a wide margin .
Viva Muchima Wami you had to lobby for Ikelengi to be a district ..
We are enjoying the jobs created because of d dermacartion let the fools hate you as we do love u here in Ikelengi and NWP as a whole
      Muchima wami
Viva Viva and Mwinilunga Katuka .Men of steel not these kambwangaz wanting to stand .

  10. Meanwhile his constituents are probably complaining about the amount the gov’t have borrowed to develop infrastructure in Zambia. I think we are now in agreement that PF has not borrowed carelessly, there is still need for more borrowing to get all provinces covered.

    • Why do they cook them if it’s not for Mps to munch .That’s y it’s called Parliament motel it’s for parliamentarians to munch ok mwanvera .mwaumfwa .Kwamana
      Viva HH kachema wanga
      Viva NWP
      Viva CBU and Unza students
