PF Deputy Spokesperson Frank Bwalya says some political leaders in the country project themselves as gods to their members and they have fallen into the trap.
In an apparent reference to the opposition UPND Mr Bwalya said members of one of the parties in the country are willing to defend their leader with their lives because their leader has brainwashed them into thinking that he is a god.
He said there is a lot of intolerance from the members of a particular party who do not want their leader to be criticised.
“There is a lot of intolerance from members of a certain political party who do want their leader to be criticised. Some leaders in this country project themselves as if they were a god and their members have fallen into that trap so anything criticising their leaders they came out so strongly that you can’t believe that they are just trying to protect a human being, it is nothing short of religious abomination for instance,” he said.
And Mr Bwalya said the police acted on intelligence information when they arrested UPND cadres on Saturday.
He said he was sure the Police had information especially that the President mentioned that he had information that UPND was training a militia.
He also accused the opposition party of always pointing accusing fingers whenever they are cought doing wrong things so as to divert the attention of the public.
“Whenever UPND is doing something wrong including criminal activities such as training a militia and so on they always try to divert public attention from what they are doing by pointing a long accusing finger at PF. I have been accused of training militias, I have been accused of procuring gums but no one of the UPND cadres has reported me to the police. Procuring guns is a very serious crime but they have never reported me instead they just talk at their meetings and its just reported on Zambian Watchdog and many other mouth pieces that they have all over,” Mr Bwalya said.
On the whether the PF is contradicting government over the issue of diplomats going to UPND President Hakainde Hichilema’s house Mr Bwalya said there was no contradiction as government had only issued a diplomatic statement.
He said what the diplomats did was wrong as they are in the country to represent their governments who have an understanding with the Zambian government.
He said what some of the diplomats did in the country can never be allowed in their own country adding that they did not come to Zambia to get involved in the country’s politics.
Mr Bwalya said this when he featured on a live phone in program dabbed the Oxygen of Democracy on Prime TV.

Ask your finance minister to normalize the liquidity in the market to the levels you found at August 2011. Then you will understand what your PF has done to this country. The little value remaining in the kwacha is at the expense of a lot of people not having access to liquidity (currently at 50 -60% normal levels), average of K560m instead of K1.2billion per day. This means children going to bed on an empty stomach thanks to poor PF economic policies.

What I find very difficult to understand really is what type Christianity most of those in the leadership of the PF practice. If indeed Mr Bwalya and many of his friends believe in God and are better than the man they denounce everyday shouldn’t they be in the forefront preaching love and unity?
