Elias Chipimo speaking at the press briefing at the NAREP Secretariat

NAREP leader Elias Chipimo has refuted reports that he has applied to stand as Member of Parliament for Mporokoso on the PF ticket.

In an interview, Mr Chipimo said the rumour circulating is baseless and unfortunate.

He said he has no intentions of ever standing on the PF ticket anywhere in the country.

Mr Chipimo said his main preoccupation is to build NAREP into a strong political party.

β€œIt is shocking that the PF has peddled this rumour and several other rumours that I have applied to stand on the PF ticket, unfortunately it is very difficult for me to respond to every rumour but I can tell you the truth that I am not standing on PF for any seat, be it in Lusaka, Lunte or even Mporokoso,” Mr Chipimo said.

  1. Seems rumour mongering is number 1 in PF’s manifesto. First PF were boasting that Nalumango is joining them, now they’re claiming Chipimo has applied to contest on their ticket. Come on, get back to work and deliver on your promises

    • Rumor mongering and we’ll hear more of it by PF is aimed at disorienting opposition party membership and followers of anyone targeted! Its all part of a propaganda scheme by PF and citizens would do better to ignore rumor and focus on what they hope to do at the pools on August 11, 2016.

  2. BUT, BA UNCLE YOU HAVE BELITTLED YOUR PARTY BY JOINING HANDS WITH SAMPA’S. YOU WERE COMING UP VERY WELL WITH FEW MISTAKES, OF COURSE. HOWEVER, JOINING HANDS WITH SAMPA MAKES YOUR PARTY AND YOUR ALLIANCE LOOK LIKE A TRIBAL ARRANGEMENT AND INDEED IT IS. YOU SHOULD HAVE THOUGH TWICE BEFORE MAKING THAT SELF-DESTRUCTIVE MOVE. SAMPA GREW BIG-HEADED AFTER SECURING THOSE BONDS WHERE HE WENT THERE MAYBE AS A KA CHOLA BOY. HE STARTED THING THAT HE CAN BECOME A PRESIDENT OF ZAMBIA. THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA WERE LOOKING UP TO YOU AND YOUR PARTY AS FUTURE ALTERNATIVE GOVT

  3. Elias you squandered your chance of rising to the helm had only waited towed the line have not heard that the adage that says patience is a virtue. You started off very well but couldn’t parservere enough you spoilt ur chance and will be twice difficult to salvage ur political career if anything to go bye.You should ve thought hard about the move u made cos the combination doesn’t really make sense in today’s political dispensation where people ve now realised that tribal politics has no place into days world. The Zambians will not be cheated into believing the trips rhetoric that was designed and incalculated into making believe that it exists when in actual doesn’t @ all.Like everything in life takes time u should ve natured what u started and would let it blossom and grow the vision…
