United Party for National Development UPND National Chairperson Mutale Nalumango has dismissed social media reports suggesting that she intends to join the ruling Patriotic Front.
Ms. Nalumango says the Patriotic Front has never been attractive ever since it formed government in 2011.
She says she remains committed to UPND under the leadership of Hakainde Hichilema contrary to social media reports.
Ms. Nalumango states that the UPND under its leader Hakainde Hichilema has already resolved to liberate the country from the numerous challenges being faced by focusing on persecuting poverty.
Meanwhile, UPND president Hakainde Hichilema says youth day is a day to join hands and acknowledge youths’ great contribution to Zambia’s development.
Mr. Hichilema says his party recognizes that the weight of the Country’s future rests on the shoulders of the youths.
He says in a statement that the UPND has worked tirelessly to create a plan of action that empowers youths.
Mr. Hichilema has observed that under the PF government many people have become frustrated and disillusioned following broken promises and empty rhetoric.
He notes that today the unemployment rate for those aged 20-24 years old is 5 times higher than that of older Zambians and youths are facing extremely hard times when looking to get a job.
