A group calling itself PF Generals has called on the opposition to stop alarming the nation on food shortages so as to avoid panic buying in the country.

In a statement issued the to the media the group said they have carried out independent investigations which have revealed that the country has enough food stocks in the country.

Below is a full statement from the group.

We the PF Group calling ourselves PF Generals wish to urge the opposition to stop alarming the nation on matters of food security to avoid panic buying.

The PF Generals have carried out independent investigations which have revealed that Zambia has enough food in stock.

We would like to thank and commend His Excellency The President of The Republic of Zambia Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu for the resolute efforts towards the development of the Agriculture sector.

The Minister of Agriculture Hon Given Lubinda, The Food Reserve Agency, Millers Association of Zambia and the Zambia National Farmers Union have all indicated that the country has enough cereals and mealie meal.

The challenge of mealie meal has widely been attributed to careless talk by some opposition leaders who predicted a food shortage.

To such leaders we urge them to remain sober because they are causing misery among innocent Zambians.

The PF Generals also urge Zambians to look out for people smuggling the essential commodity and immediately report such to relevant authorities.

  1. Oh my belly aches today! A group calling itself PF Generals….

No one will be alarmed if they are fed, Generals. Stand down. There are far more qualified people available to conduct ‘research’.

  2. PF Generals should be charged with treason. How does Zambia have PF party generals when the nation only has Zambia Defence forces generals. PF is traing its own generals and militias to disturbalise the nation. We call upon the Zambia security force to investigate these PF generals and be brought to book. The Zambian security is being compromised by PF government. PF cadres have already taken over the Zambian police force. Where will the Zambian public seek protection.

  3. IF I SAID I AM ANT-PF GENERAL, FRANK BWALI WITH HIS MALNUTRITION FACE LIKE A HEALTHY BABY WHO SURVIVED FROM INSALA WILL RUN TO PF POLICE CADRES AND SAY ARREST HIM.

DONT SAY WE HAVE ENOUGH NSHIMA WHEN IN SOLWEZI PEOPLE ARE BUYING AT K90 AND ONLY SHOPRITE IS SELLING K85 UBWAKULWILA. MAY YOU FLOOD THE FRA MAIZE ON THE MARKET IF YOU CAN. TUKANAYE UBWELE PAMELA GOT FINISHED DURING MMD BUT THE POOR FARMERS HAVE BROUGHT THEM UP

  4. This is now chaos to say the least. Which authority are the so-called PF Generals using to issue sensitive statements on mealie meal to the entire nation? Pronouncements like this must be left to the Republican President, The VP or Minister of Agriculture, they are the ones entrusted with authority.
People will not panic to buy mealie meal if it is readily available in shops. If your research shows that there is enough maize in stock, stabilise the supply of the staple food so that the prices can be stabilised. Blaming the opposition for alarming people is a wrong approach, people can see for themselves that there is a shortage of mealie meal, they are not dull or babies who can not discern what is happening.

  5. I was laughing when I saw Chola Kafwabulula paraded by these generals on deadNBC. I think being a professional has become an indignity in this country.

  6. Why worry if there is sufficient, stock? Bring it out.wnd avoid shortages then you can convince the nation. Wccually, alarming the nation is the so called pf generals! zambia wake up, pf is modeling its electioneering tacticks after zambabwe zanu pf, which mugabe is using to terrorise opposition and suppress the people.

  8. LOL The notion that Opposition is bulk buying mealie meal and hiding it to cause a national shortage is as dull as saying the opposition is causing power shortage. The fact of the matter is wages of lying to people day in day out, making U-turns on promises day in day out, selective justice day in day out etc… is loss of confidence. People have simply lost confidence in the current Govt. Full stop.
Confidence is EARNED and not forced on people.
The ONLY way to rebuild confidence and normalise the situation is to flood the market with mealie meal. Merely talking on national TV and making more false promises, when you know very well you are a record holder in breaking promises, creates more panic, not confidence. Trying to assure people not to panic BY RESTRICTING them into BUYING ONLY…

    • Cont’d …. ONLY ONE bag at a time when they have all along been buying the quantity they wanted, creates more panic, not confidence. Running Milling plants at 60% of their capacity for weeks on end at a time like this creates more panic, not confidence. Blaming opposition instead of flooding the market with mealie meal simply creates more panic, not confidence

N/B – Obviously these job seekers (Mealie Meal Generals) are up to no good, but trying to wangle a way into Tax payers’ money.

  9. So it’s OK for of to have a military wing while busy witch hunting the opposition who are simply acting in self defence against them thugs? Animal farm indeed at play, no wonder Africa is where it is because of compromised morals, lack of shame and impunity compounded with mediocrity. Perhaps Trump was right, we do not know how to govern ourselves, we need to be recolonised for 100 more years. What a shame Africa oh my Africa I pray that our struggle for independence was not all in vain when we can barely feed ourselves and secure sufficient and affordable food on people’s tablesfew. This blaming game of is not helping let’s face the situation as it is and pray for wisdom and grace from above to come up with practical solutions to our crisis.
