  1. @1 on Qatar Airline topic: ARE YOU SCARED OF COMPETITION? COMPETITION PROMOTES THINKING/INNOVATION. ZAMBIA IS WHAT IT IS TODAY BECAUSE FOR AGES THERE WERE NO COMPETITION AMONG BUSINESSES SINCE ALL WERE PUBLICLY OWNED BUSINESSES. AND MIND YOU ZAMBIA WILL PARTNER WITH FRANCE WHICH WILL USE ITS AIRBUS COMPANY TO EQUIP THE RE-ESTABLISHED AIRLINE. THIS IS A VERY GOOD AND HELPFUL GESTURE FROM THE FRENCH PRESIDENT Mr HOLANDE TO ZAMBIA. YOU CAN’T HAVE IT BETTER. HE HAS PROMISED TO TRAIN ENGINEERS, PILOTS AND OTHER RELATED EXPERTS USING AIRBUS ITSELF. UNLESS WE ARE *****S. THIS SHOULD GIVE ZAMBIA AN OPPORTUNITY TO FLY TO DESTINATIONS WITH HIGH POTENTIAL FOR TOURISTS.

  2. OBVIOUSLY, 500, 000 elderly Zambians against an overall population of 14 to 15 million is a drop in the ocean. In terms of the social benefits from the aged the GRZ can ably look after the aged first through a monthly wage for our grownups. However, to limit fraud to minimum levels, a national database for the aged must be designed and implemented and elderly issued with debit bank cards of nominated banks or post office for their electronic money transactions. Collections of elderly Zambian should be done through chiefdoms, etc. Zambia is slowly losing the respecting and loving of our elderly culture to the west. To bring those values back, social studies should introduce topics of aging and how to take care of our aged. Effective policies must for the aged must be enacted and the time…

  3. To bring those values back, social studies should introduce topics of aging and how to take care of our aged. Effective policies must for the aged must be enacted and the time to do these things is , now.

  4. The PF manifesto promised a pension scheme that is related to inflation. Imagine if KK had been getting his 1991 salary he would have been a destitute. But oh no the politicians know how to look after their own kind. A former president gets 80% of the salary of the incumbent president and all the incumbent presidents have increased their salaries while in office. Mwanawasa not only did he get his pension he got his gratuity as well together with MPs. To me no party is sacred from attack if I see it is doing something wrong. HH is right in condemning Lungu’s salary increment at this particular juncture when most Zambians are suffering and hopefully he will not u-turn if voted into office.

  5. KK had cultivated a culture of respect for elderly people, but now all that is lost. A nation without culture and traditional values is a dead nation.

  6. A parent who fails to adequately provide for his or her children can be charged with an offence for child neglect. Adult children who fail to provide for their older (60+ years) parents should also be charged with an offence.
