President Edgar Lungu is this Saturday expected in Muchinga province on a two day working visit. President Lungu will grace the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Kenneth Kaunda Secondary School on Saturday.

The President will be accompanied by First Republican President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda. Muchinga Province Minister Mwimba Malama and Provincial Permanent Secretary Bright Nundwe have confirmed this to ZNBC News.

Kenneth Kaunda Secondary School has attained 50- years from the time the school was named at Dr. Kaunda. President Lungu will also check on some developmental projects in the district in the province.

Mr. Nundwe said people in the province are appreciative of the various developmental projects the PF administration is undertaking in the province. Meanwhile, Mr. Malama has urged all former pupils to contribute towards the refurbishment of the school.

The President is expected back in Lusaka on Sunday after concluding inspection of projects in the area.

Meanwhile, the Zambia Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) in Muchinga Province has praised government for constructing and rehabilitating roads in the Province.

Muchinga Province ZCTU Regional Coordinator Nondo Kasanda told ZANIS in an interview in Nakonde that the union is happy that road construction such as the Nakonde-Mbala road has been successfully completed.

Mr. Kasanda said the road will help improve the lives of people working in rural areas especially teachers.

Mr. Kasanda said before the road was constructed, many teachers shunned working in schools along the Nakonde Mbala due to its poor state.

He said many teachers and members of the public faced challenges to travel using the road as public service buses were not available.

Mr. Kasanda said bus fares have since reduced from K150 to K50 from Nakonde to Mbala adding that traveling on open vans has also reduced due to increased number of buses commuting between Mbala and Nakonde Districts.

Mr. Kasanda has since appealed to government to quickly complete the construction of the Isoka/ Muyombe Road saying the project has taken long.

Meanwhile, Nakonde District Commissioner Field Simwinga has warned people vandalising the road signs on the Nakonde-Mbala Road of stern punishment.

Mr Simwinga said anyone found vandalising the road signs will be arrested and prosecuted.

The 180 million United States dollars Nakonde Mbala road was recently commissioned by the President Edgar Lungu.

    • He should be prepared to leave state House after August 2016. He has failed to fix the ever collapsing economy while concentrating on commissioning projects which have been existed even before PF took over. Overspending in PF without analyzing the effects has killed our Zambian economy and only HH seems to be promising to fix it. With the way things are moving Lungu will not be able to fix the economy given another tenure of office.

    • Ba President wesu ni ba Lungu. hh, sampa and all of you losers get ready for your biggest tears yet plus erectile dysfunction from stress!

    • God bless his Man servant one ECL raised for my country at a peculiar time such as this one. More wisdom with temperament even as canal minds fall in droves.

    • These schools for Kaunda??? Which one is David Kaunda (DK) is it the same as this one keneth kaunda? I thought DK is in Lusaka? Sorry i am confused

    • @House fly
DK is a national technical school based in Lusaka and is named after president Kaunda’s father while the school in Chinsali is called KK (abbreviation for Kenneth Kaunda). President Kaunda’s father was David Kaunda (DK). Just thought of helping you with a bit of social studies.

    • Why vote for PF in memory of a dead Man. Why not just let the dead Man rest in peace while we carry on behaving like jerks

    • EDGAR LUNGU IS SIMPLY A TIME WASTER AND A SPACE FILLER INDEED. KAMWENDO MUNJILA IS LUNGU’S PROPER DESCRIPTION OF WHAT HE IS, JUST WASTING TAX PAYER’S MONEY AS HE GOBBLES A LOT OF ALLOWANCES FOR DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. MEANWHILE OUR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS ARE LANGUISHING IN THE STREETS, BECAUSE LUNGU REFUSED TO PAY THEM A MEAGER MEAL ALLOWANCE. I SEE NO KINDNESS AND SYMPATHY FOR OTHERS IN LUNGU’S BEHAVIOR. LUNGU IS SUPPOSED TO SPEND A LOT OF HIS TIME AT HIS STATE HOUSE OFFICE BUSY PLANNING FOR THE NATION ON HOW WE CAN GET OURSELVES OUT OF THIS ECONOMIC DOLDRUMS. ZAMBIA IS CURRENTLY PERISHING BECAUSE THERE IS NO LEADERSHIP AND NO VISION FROM EDGAR LUNGU. KICK LUNGU OUT THIS AUGUST.

  1. No one cares what you do really Mr. humble meno meno. Too busy lining up for mealie meal see and of course waiting to kick your skinny butt out of statehouse come August.

  2. Whta a lazy President never in the office, my foot inspection of project when its juts campigning thru out. Please just call elections maybe he will work

  3. Kaunda should learn to rest. Every ka event he has to pick up the third leg (walking stick) to attend. Hope this is not some careless whispering from me as usual

    • I hear you but you complain too much. The school is named after him and is celebrating jubilee so what do you expect. Wrong timing for your whining.

  4. ALL MUCHINGA PROVINCE VOTERS SHOULD VOTE ECL AND PF. THE PROVINCE HAS BEEN AND CONTINUES TO BE ONE OF THE MAIN RECIPIENTS OF INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT. VIVA ECL, VIVA PF, VIVA MUCHINGA PROVINCE PEOPLE AND VIVA ZAMBIA AND ABASH TRIBALISM AND REGIONALISM.

  5. When wicked leaders fall, people rejoice even the currencies strengthen. The people of South Africa are rejoicing today by the land mark ruling that their president failed to uphold his constitutional obligation. He thought that he was above the law but constitutional court found otherwise and castigated parliament for failing to hold the president accountable. Soon after that judgement, the rand strengthened considerably high.
I believe the day Lungu would be voted out things will begin to change economically, the people all over the country will be celebrating like the people of South Africa are doing today. These working trips are just a way of Lungu making some money before he leaves office in August. I wish all the people of Zambia can wise up.

  7. Be careful…policies of UPND, PF are the same – Kabimba By Mukosha Funga 31 Mar,2016 ,11:39:19 WYNTER Kabimba says people must be careful with the choices they make on August 11 because they will end up with a government that is worse than PF. – , Kabimba cautioned Zambians against voting on impulse on August 11. “Zambians have voted in the past. Just going back to 1991, they voted out UNIP and brought in the MMD. At the end of the 20 years of the MMD, it proved to be worse than the UNIP government that they had voted out

    • If any one but Kabimba had said that it would mean something but that tin pot arrogant dictator’s words are worth zero. You wouldn’t listen if a prostitute starts preaching chastity or the devil preaching the word of God, or Lungu advising against alcoholism, would you?

  8. This Lazy Bum Edgar couldn’t stay in his office he is off campaigning after his salary increase..doing absolutely nothing…his colleague in Tanzania John “Bull dozer” Magufuli is doing the opposite reducing his salary, salaries of top officials, reducing external debt so as to reduce dependence on the enslaving donor aid. • “..Mr. Kasanda said bus fares have since reduced from K150 to K50 from Nakonde to Mbala adding that traveling on open vans has also reduced due to increased number of buses commuting between Mbala and Nakonde Districts.”
What more can you ask for!

  9. How did we end up with this bum masquerading as a leader?? Because people were looking but not seeing. Edgar assumed the leadership of the Patriotic Front through violence. It was there for all to see and there was no attempt whatsoever to conceal it.

  10. Mujinga province is a laughing stock of the swahili speakers of neighbouring Tz due to its poverty, ignorance and backwardness.

Stay there permamnently coz you won’t be re-elected Bwana Lungu.

  11. ECL just does not endear himself to the population with this gallivanting. What’s the point of this visit. He only just returned.
