Court hammer

A LUSAKA business man has begged the Kanyama Local Court to dissolve his one year marriage, saying he caught his wife having sex with the landlord.

This is in case which Brian Sikolo, 29, sued his wife Maureen Sikolo, 25, for divorce. Bride price was not paid. The couple have no child together.

Brian, a security guard said on March 11, he saw his landlord whom described as Chanda together with his wife heading towards his house around 23:35 hours and watched how his friend started undressing his wife and started having sex.

He said on that fateful day, he got permission from work because he was not feeling too well.

Further, Brian said he never wanted to disturb the duo because he wouldn’t have proper evidence in court adding that he wanted to film the entire scene, hence approaching them after they had finished having sex.

But Maureen who could not hold back her tears admitted the claim and begged her husband to forgive her. “I was seduced by our landlord, “she claimed.

The defendant told the court that she agreed to sleep with Mr Chanda because he had promise her that she would stop paying monthly rentals.

Passing judgment, the court dismissed claim for divorce because bride price was not paid.

  1. So, according to this magistrate, the Landlord has no case to answer because this Security Guard had not paid any bride-price….What a nincompoop of a Magistrate!!!!

    • Think he is saying that as bride price was not paid there was no marriage and hence divorce is irrelevant. This was supposedly a traditional marriage

    • Very archaic. Oh, no! I can see the logic by the court. The judgement is meant to chastise the husband for failing to pay the lobola. It’s the bitter pill he must swallow. Let him sue his landlord for damages, instead. He will prevail.

  2. I think Bootyful you’re right, but I thought Zambia laws says if you live with someone’s daughter for over six months your deemed married?

  3. Is it the magistrate or the auther who has left us in suspense? I guess one of the two gets his wife believe me he will learn to end the case/story

  4. Do u have to watch yo wife enter the house with another man so that u have enough evidence of them having sex? Why not stop them as they head towards the house?

  5. …I have always wondered why the courts do not discard the case on registration….if bride price hasn’t been paid then why go ahead hearing the details of the case….it seems the court workforce enjoy the drama which comes with such cases…but what a waste of man-hours….
….the main character in the episode wanted to film his ‘wife’ being f’ckd as evidence in court…im sure the magistrate had to enjoy watching the evidence first before trashing the case…kikikiki

  6. Comment:you man why can’t you chased her instantly with no further discussion or hearing its adultery no mercy led handed ahahah
