  1. Batubulu kwa aye do not get over excited accidents happen on these roads.

  2. Well done PF,
A thoughtful, caring, insightful government at work.
I hope Zambian people remember this.

    • It has nothing to do with PF. Credit should go to RB and Situmbeko Musokotwane. Actually PF wanted to axe this project in 2011 immediately they came into power. Mukanga then, Transport Minister even suspended construction in October 2011. He called it an unnecessary and expensive ‘political project’. It was saved by the fact that the contract Musokotwane had entered into with the Chinese was for the Chinese government not to release money to the Zambian govt but to be paying the Chinese contractor directly. The trunk road projects and bridges in Western Province are all the brain child of RB’s MMD. The PF found these projects already funded and under construction. The PF didn’t need to do anything. The Projects PF promised to the people of Western Province are yet to see the light…

    • This is an overpriced project that is going to cost us the taxpayers dear and has made some politicians and RDA officials very wealthy in the name of infrastructure development…..simply ask yourself why they are eager to build roads than buy equipment for the police or front-line services.

  3. GOOD WORK GRZ. PLEASE CONTINUE. WHEN ROADS ARE DONE START ANOTHER MASSIVE/AGGRESSIVE ECONOMIC MENDING. U’VE SHOWN U CAN BE AT IT WHEN YOU WANT IT DONE TO GET IT DONE.

  4. Any one can build that with borrowed money. Don’t get too excited. You generate wealth using the countries potential, then you cam start the praises.

  5. I say this again and I say it again there was absolutely no thought process from the designers of this road that cost us a whooping jaw dropping $350m; this road should have been a pro-cyclist road I counted over 21 cyclists in just that clip alone….there is no sign of any traffic calming technology implemented; any physical design and other measures, including any narrowed roads and speed humps, put in place on that selfsame roads for the intention of slowing down motor-vehicle traffic as well as to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
For the money we spent I am not impressed ….any numpty in a car or HGV or Bus would be doing 200km/h on that road with no care for overloaded cyclists heading in the same direction. Instead of hastily selling contracts to the Chines for…

    • to the Chines for kickbacks RDA should make it policy to involve local input in the design process.
To the untrained eye this is heaven…please let us thrive for perfection in everything we do!!

  6. …can someone confirm that EIZ is functional…..im sure this design passed thru their offices and they okayed it….
..to start with this is no ordinary road,,,the entire stretch in this video is a bridge…..
….I don’t see any visible speed limit signs
…no hard shoulder…..when a HGV breaks down anywhere along this stretch,, disaster …
…the area where there is a right turn was supposed to have been widened to accommodate another lane for traffic turning to the right
…I don’t see any ‘SLOW’ prints on tar when approaching what seems to be a layby or bust stop….

    • In 8-10 years time this will need widening and redesigning…as someone from this sector I am disappointed that you can spend $350m on an ill thought design on 2nd attempt meaning that this project has cost us almost half billion dollars.

  7. i really do wish there was a sidewalk for pedestrians impressive project but still an impressive project

  8. No fault to find here! His is progress. No need for dangerous boats to cross to this remote area. Think of all this Agricultural products being transported to the rest of the open world! PF has lead down the infrastructure to facilitate Trade and transportation of citizens.

  9. WITH ALL DUE RESPECT AND PRAISE TO THE PF GOVERNMENT. HATERS KNOW VERY WELL THAT THE ROAD THAT WAS DONE PREVIOUSLY WAS WASHED AWAY TO THE LAST GRAIN OF SAND BY THE FLOODS.

  10. Well-done Zambia. It is just sad that the road has no shoulders and people on foot are risking their lives walking on this road. We need a second road by this one so that we can start a new culture of dual carriageways to make intercity traveling safe in Zambia. God bless you Mr. Lungu and thank Mr. Sata too!

  11. The second road to run by this one must have the shoulder for the safety of walkers. Well-done Zambia!

  12. Fantastic Roads in Zambia usually have no road markings but this one has them throughout its length.
