Zambian musicians Maureen Lilanda, Wezi , James Sakala and Mumba Yachi collaborated on a song about protecting our wildlife.

The song is produced by Jerry Fingers. Music Video produced and directed by Fortress Media. Conceptualized by John Mwanza, Mojo Music and Game Rangers International with additional footage from Phil Jeffery, Jeffery & McKeith Safaris.
Filmed on location at Lilayi Lodge and Musekese Camp, Kafue National Park, Zambia.

“Zambia is home to important wildlife populations which need our protection before it’s too late. This song is a call to Zambia and the rest of the world to support conservation efforts and celebrate the people and organisations who are making an impact. Sending the message out to everyone that we are the generation with whom the responsibility lies: to report wildlife crime, reject illegal bush meat, value our wilderness areas and support the men and women risking their lives on a daily basis to protect our wildlife.”

  1. its a good cause fellas. but your picture should have depicted conservation. your dressing look like people who are relaxed. Conservation is a serious business and rakes in millions of dollars. Take a leaf on Kenya, Tanzania & south Africa. Zambia would do well to privatize most national game parks. African parks has done well in Western province – Liuwa National Park & the Kasanka Trust.

  2. Good cause indeed keep up the good job , but sadly we have no taken cases of conservation seriously in Zambia , a lot needs to be done as forex can be earned if properly managed and hence easy on the dependence of copper a wasting asset.

  3. TROUBLE IN ZAMBIA IS THAT EVEN IF THERE’S A RESOLVE TO DIVERSIFY THE ECONOMY INTO SECTORS OF CONTINUOUS ASSETS SUCH AS TOURISM RESOURCES THESE ARE BUT LIP SERVICE. WHEN ALLOCATING OF BUDGET FUNDS COME TOURISM AND FARMING WILL FURNISHED WITH A SONG. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ZAMBIA CAN THIS TIME ROUND TOURISM AND FARMING BE GIVEN REAL MONEY. TOURISM IS NOT CHILD’S PLAY (TEKUBUTA IYO). TOURISM IS A MULTI £BILLION SPINNER. IF THAT IS TRUE, THEN IT TELLS US THAT EVEN THE INVESTMENT INTO TOURISM (AND FARMING) MUST EQUALLY BE SOMETHING THAT AIMS AT ACHIEVING SUCH TURNOVERS. JUST WAIT AND SEE WHAT TOURISM WILL BE GIVEN.

  4. Great song, great voices, massive message. Lets go back to the Kaunda days of Chongololo clubs. On a lighter note, the song is done in Bemba and Nyanja. Is it confirmation that these two are notorious for poaching and the message in the song is directed at them?

  5. Zambians please take your holidays at game parks, enjoying your wildlife, it’s not just for European Tourists. You need to support the wildlife industry so gov’t can get tax income towards GDP.

It’s a good cause behind this song, but the emphasis should be on Africans reconnecting with this beauty and gift, instead of allowing Western people to make money out of our resources AND then alienating us from our resources by picturing us as Poachers who must be kept away.

  6. UNTIL THE LOCALS TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THESE RESOURCES & BENEFIT FROM THEM.ALL THIS SINGING WILL AMOUNT TO NOTHING.THERE IS A MODEL IN NORTHERN NAMIBIA WHERE THE LOCALS EVEN “HARVEST” ELEPHANT TASKS!,THEY SELL & PAY TAX TO THE GOVERNMENT.THE ELEPHANT POPULATION IS EVEN INCREASING!!THE KENYA MODEL WHERE THE LOCALS ARE EXPLOITED IS THE CAUSE OF THIS POACHING RISE.
