Nkana on Wednesday secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over struggling Mufulira Wanderers at home to stay top of the FAZ Super Division table.

The win in this Week 11 encounter pushes Nkana to 23 points 10 matches played.

The Wusakile club led in the first minute with striker Walter Bwalya tapping in from close range to beat Wanderers keeper Robert Mwanza.

However, Nkana needed a late winner from substitute Spencer Ngalande to overcome a determined Wanderers side at Nkana Stadium in Wusakile.

Ngalande, who had replaced Chanda Mushili after the break, slotted in a Guily Manziba pass after 76 minutes to register his first goal for Nkana since his move from Nico United of Botswana.

Four minutes earlier Wanderers had equalised through Progress Kalenga to scare the home side.

Both sides missed several scoring opportunities much to the dissatisfaction of both sets of supporters.

This is a huge relief for Nkana who lost 3-1 at Green Buffaloes prior to the 1-1 draw against Power Dynamos in last weekends Kitwe derby in Wusakile.

  1. By now Mighty should know that they are in very big trouble this year. They may even be relegated. You cant go this long without a win and you think its normal.
