Today’s Message:Resist Fear

Share

bible
Today’s Scripture

“Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset—rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined]…”

(1 Peter 5:9, AMP)

Resist Fear

The very moment you first feel fear, you have to resist it and act against it. If you make the mistake of dwelling on your fears and start thinking about all the reasons why you can’t do what God is telling you to do, then it won’t be long before you develop a negative mindset that will keep you stuck right where you are.

In the Bible, when God told David to go fight Goliath, it says that David moved quickly toward the battlefield. In other words, he didn’t think about it. He didn’t allow fear to grip his heart and talk him out of it. He just did what God wanted him to do.

So many people today are just sitting on the sidelines of life. They have tremendous potential on the inside, but they keep letting the enemy talk them out of doing what God wants them to do. Every time they get a vision of victory for their life, the enemy brings fear; and they just swallow his lies hook, line and sinker. Don’t let that be you! Instead, obey quickly. Resist fear and boldly embrace every blessing the Lord has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today

“Father, today I resist fear. I choose to receive Your love. I believe that with You, all things are possible. Thank You for giving me the power to live in victory in every area of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

  1. If you want to control a population and keep them passive, keep beating them over the head and let them look somewhere else….
Give them a god to worship.
    Noam Chomsky

    • So, according to your analysis, former World boxing Champion Muhammad Ali was passive because he believed in God? You my friend have NO IDEA what you are implying.

  2. The christian slave master of the New World (Africa) had two hands. In that, he was human. One hand held the Bible, the nother the whip. As the hand that held the whip started its work, the other hand that held the Bible made connection the master’s voice. As the hand did the flogging, the mouth uttered divine words, ” the one being whipped is condemned to that fate”

THE CRACKING SOUND OF THE MASTER’S WHIP AND THE CHURCH CHOIR’ SONGS COMPLEMENTED EACH OTHER

  4. The Promise of Heaven

The most important aspect of Christianity for the enslaved was the promise of heaven — a promise made by plantation owners. This idea preached the notion that for all the suffering that is done in the physical world, your soul will be preserved and you will experience a hardship-free spiritual life, according to Slave Resistance, A Caribbean Study. What this did for enslaved Black people was give them hope for the future. Converted enslaved people’s belief in heaven allowed some to passively resist their plantation owners and focus on the afterlife. With that belief, all of the beatings and lashings meant nothing because in heaven the enslaved person would be rewarded and the master would be punished.

  5. The most sensible African’s just wonder why so many of our people love the white man’s religion more than the white man himself.

  6. They gave us the scriptures and while we were busy reading the scripture they looted the continent. Tell them how God loves them, turn the other cheek when I slap you, the slave should be subservient to the master. All those verses to make people timid and submissive. Bring the image of a white man as the son god, give them the impression that God is white and let them bow down to the white missionary.
Unfortunately most people are scared of breaking away from the shackles of mental slavery. They still believe the crap fed to them by the white man reinforced by their parents. Intellectually handicapped because they can’t think outside the box. Centuries’ old box

  7. How can any African identify as a Christian when the Bible was used to support slavery and Christianity was brought by the very same people who exploited and enslaved Africans?

  8. THOSE WHO CLAIM THAT THEY DON’T BELIEVE IN GOD AND YET THEY ARE THE FIRST TO READ AND COMMENT ON THE POST ON THE WORD OF GOD ARE JUST HYPOCRITES. WHY READ SOMETHING YOU DON’T BELIEVE IN AND DON’T AGREE WITH. I DON’T BELIEVE IN WITCHDOCTORS, WHEN I GET SICK I DON’T GO TO CONSULT THEM, INSTEAD I GO TO THE HOSPITAL. AS SIMPLE AS THAT.

    • And we wonder why Black People can never get ahead. We believe what we were taught and there’s no other viewpoint.

  9. Must we believe everything the oppressors tell us? C’mon man. be real. if you want the truth, just go find it. It is there. The problem is that most Africans are so beyond indoctrination that they can’t see the trees from the forest.

  10. You c a n ‘ t get ahead because of your low IQs. The very fact that you people believe such bullshiit or as you say ” booshiit” is empirical proof.

  11. Tell me again why God needs my money???

I have known people who tithed faithfully, gave in every offering and still ended their lives not having two ngwee’s rub together. Of course, the explanation is, God will reward them on “the other side.” All well and good, but why then d o n ’ t the preachers wait to receive their rewards? It seems their hypocrisy knows no bounds. ?

  12. Christianity has done absolutely nothing for black people for the last 300 years, except kept them impoverished and created a race of religious fanatics.
