Forest end four-match losing streak

Share

Forest Rangers have ended a four-match losing streak with a goalless home draw against Napsa Stars on Friday at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Prior to this game Forest had lost to Nkana, Mufulira Wanderers, Nakambala Leopards and Lumwana Radiants.

Napsa started this Week 21 tie on a promising note with Laison Thole testing Forest goalkeeper Jairos Mulenga with a volley in the 7th minute that the latter saved.

Forest missed a fine chance to take the lead in the 21st minute when Ronald Chibwe failed to connect with a cross from Felix Nyaende after the goalkeeper failed to deal with the cross.

The second half began in the same fashion as the first, with Napsa dominating and could have taken the lead in the 70th minute but their Uganda striker Justus Anene’s powerful shot was stopped by Mulenga.

Chibwe then missed a nice opportunity to seal the three points in stoppage time when he headed another Nyaende’s cross inches wide.

Forest rise one notch to 10th place on 25 points while Napsa stay put in third from bottom in sixteenth place on 18 points after also ended a three match-losing run.
