The tribunal appointed to investigate allegations of misconduct by suspended Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Mutembo Nchinto has concluded its investigations and has handed over its findings to President Edgar Lungu.

Tribunal Chairperson Justice Annel Silungwe who presented the report to President Lungu at State House said they had completed their inquiry and had the honour of submitting the report and recommendations to the President.

Other members of the tribunal are former Chief Justices Matthew Ngulube and Ernest Sakala together with Justice Matthew Zulu.

And receiving the report, President Lungu said government will ensure transparency so that justice is done.

On March 10th, 2015, President Lungu appointed a tribunal to investigate allegations of misconduct by suspended director of public prosecutions Mutembo Nchito.

Meanwhile ZNBC’s Michael Kaumba reports that President Lungu has arrived in Maamba to commission the Maamba Power Plant after which he is expected to address public rallies in Itezhi Tezhi and Livingstone.

    • Lungu, your official last assignment, by next week today, you will be heading to Chawama. Meanwhile a send off party will be held in the evening of Tuesday at my farm off Grt North road

    • @The Chosen One: You could be right BUT UPND will re-instate him next week! Watch the space – Jack Mwiimbu is a big fan of Mutembo AND Edgar’s immunity will be removed over this one.

    • Nostradamus
They did it in good faith because Lungu appointed them. It could be irrelevant to give it to the new president. Knowledge is shared my friend

    • THIS LOOKS LIKE A WAKO NI WAKO TRIBUNAL: MATTHEW NGULUBE, MATTHEW ZULU AND ERNEST SAKALA APPOINTED BY EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU!!!

    • It truly is a wako ni wako, Umodzi kummawa, tribunal posse out to crucify Mutembo. How Chakolwa is so desperate! Zambians should give him what he fears most – total rejection.

    • JAMESON VODKA CHAGWA RUNGU KADANSA KUYA BEBELE COME AUGUST 11 AND WILL PUT IN PLACE A TRIBUNAL TO INVESTIGATE HIM…VIVA UPND,VIVA HH 2016

  1. Nchinto was thinking that the tribunal might delay till after elections but now it’s in. Let him be punished further never to be given any government job cos he is corrupt. Bravo bwana president no wonder I will vote for u

    • IF YOU DO NOT KNOW, MUTEMBO IS WELL RESPECTED LAWYER. SATA WENT TO BERG HIM TO BECOME DPP. HIS BROTHER NCHIMA WAS ALSO FORCED TO BECOME STATE COUNSEL BY SATA. THE JOB OF DPP HAS BEEN A WASTE OF HIS TIME. APART FROM THE FACT THAT HE WANTED TO SERVE.. ECL HAD HIS OWN PROGRAM AND HAS BEEN FORCED TO HOUND OUT MUTEMBO BY UNCOUTH MEANS. ECL WILL REMEMBER MUTEMBO. MEANWHILE I WILL STILL VOTE FOR ECL THAN HH THE TRIBALIST.

    • Iwe Chisenga, I know Nchinto better than you. I was working for his defunct company Zambian Airways. That guy isn’t worthy but just a criminal

    • @ CHISENGA how does a thief of 14 billion DBZ tax payers money become a respected lawyer. Maybe among thieves. Tell the thief you respect to pay back the 14 billion if your head is functioning properly.

  2. We are commissioning a power station while the UPND haters keep hating. Sonta po team Go PF Mr Walk the Talk, His Excellency Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

    • Polluting our air and costing us TAXPAYERS millions just because PF is too ignorant and CORRUPT to manage Kariba properly!

And this USELESS Lungu “commissioning” the Kafue lower FOUR YEARS after it was cancelled by PF!

Did it really take this drunkard that long to sober up?

Vote wisely Zambians. Vote NO to PF cluelessness!

    • What has Lungu got to do with the thermal private power plants in Southern Province? In case you didn’t know Zambia Sugar produces in excess of 50MW power from bagasse and now the Maamba project which at full strength down the line should do 300MW.

Sir Kudos aka terrible senile citizen mutinta. These are just that. Private. Keep away your crooked thieving finger.

Sonta epo waiba mambala K15 million or K15 billion non rebased (more than the DBZ debt of Zambian Airways)

    • Honey It would be great to share what it is in your view is not being done properly in terms of management at Kariba….
Isn’t it great that we have an alternative to power generation given that the weather patterns are in predictable…. is not this project in national interest will be useful in the economy to be run by HH if he wins on the 11th?

    • Sigodo….you may wish to know that GRZ has invested in this project through ZCCM… ZCCM owns equity in this project. So it is not entirely a private sector project. I think this is a great project which will be useful too in the economy to be run by HH should he win on the 11th.Above all it is the Zambian people and the people of Maamba who will benefit from this project…I say hats of to GRZ and President Lungu for this great project

    • I envy our brothers and sisters in Southern Province. They seem to have received the most in terms of development..to name but a few , they have received investment in terms of the upgrade of the airport in Livingstone and this project gobbled millions of dollars, they have also received investment in terms the new provincial capital in Choma, today the thermal power where ZCCM has equity has been commissioned. The bottom road had also been done… and this road will transform lives of many people… I believe a state of the art hospital in Kalomo is almost complete….many more clinics and schools have been done too

  3. My prayer was that kudos is dead, the guy has resurfaced. We will do bigger things than your ka Maamba plant, iwe ka kudos

  4. Staged. Visit The Post’s facebook stage, this is all staged. They know that DPP Nchito will be on their necks when they lose these elections. UPND will reinstate him.

    • Can you tells how Upnd will do it on 2099. If you think Upnd is winning I command you wake from your sweat dream and face reality.

  5. The Old Mother Fuc.king Ar.ses of Judges have read the mood voters well! They knew that Lungu is going AND UPND was NOT going to accept that fake report from their Kangaroo court and pay their sitting allowances!!

    • An elderly fool will always be a fool and never get any respect. These foolish former judges work to wako ni wako, Umodzi kummawa, basis. They do not deserve any respect.

  6. Any one going for a battle goes with a winning voice. Numbers at rallies does not reflect the turnout of polls on 11th August. The flashing out of K20 notes can gully the smallest of the unwise populous. Believe me, the percentage of voters will increase this year. I have on my curious capacity managed to conduct interview on masses of citizenry. People have a high zeal to cast votes. Those who did not register are leaving in regret. With the aforesaid, I predict that there won’t be any rerun election. Thanks be to God. Let us do the right thing and avoid all sorts of violence.

    • This is the type of argument we need on this blog not emotions without reasoning. Thanks Mwelwa I also wish I had registered but my job could not allow too busy.

  7. Thank you Tribunal for the job well done, whatever the outcome will be.
Coming to Mmembe and Post newspaper, that paper will never rise again, regardless of who wins the election. Which president would in.his right mind would let the Post and their rogue editor resurrect ever again?

  8. That includes Mutembo Nchito and
all other members of the cartel. Despite their differences in public, all presidential candidates share one thing in common, none would want the Post and the Cartel to rise again. Deep down their hearts all the opposition leaders like what is happening to Mmembe and the cartel and are happy that it would not be them to sort that evil out of society.

  9. Because of lungus talent of turning grey areas of the law to suit him politically despite president and his bending of laws willfully, every thing lungu does looks suspect.

    • This is because Chakolwa has a corrupt and evil tendency in everything he does. He is the most evil President that Zambia will ever have.

  10. Judicial review applications will ensue in the unlikely event of the Tribunal finding him guilty of professional misconduct; worse still if they recommend his retirement in the national interest. Like him or not, the State simply had no case against Mutembo. None of the ‘charges’ preferred against him can stand the scrutiny of an impartial tribunal or adjudicatory process.

  11. Question is what has the tribunal found and concluded so we can comment objectively……but to speculate!!!! if cleared does he take his job back….secondly if found guilty then what!!

    • Do you know that Mutembo is a SC or do you even know what that means? Do you know that Mutembo just has to do one case and he doesn’t need to work to put food on the table for another FIVE years? Do you know that what Mutembo earns from his private practice in ONE year is more than what a respected parastatal MD can earn in FIVE life times?

Bu lumpen Timwenge Tawaumwange bwachilamo as we would say in my Yunza monk days. And we would add Abash….!!

  12. @Timwenge Tawaumwange. I THINK YOU ARE ON THE WRONG SITE. WE DONT INSULT HERE. WE DISCUSS OBJECTIVELY. TRY ZWD FOR YOUR KIND.

  13. Sorry Mtembo!!! U & yo cartel r finished. Hh is a nonstarter. Gbm is a homo. Post is closed. We want it completely closed after elections. So PF another 5 yrs chabe!!!!

    • @ Legendary Mexican
The tribunal is called “Mutembo Nchinto Tribunal”, can you make sense now out of the heading? “Mutembo Nchinto Tribunal” hands in……bla….bla…

  14. Everyone is just commenting on the topic because they seem not to care about anything. This is why constitutions, policy issues, other lumpen slogans just happen. We have bad reading and understanding culture. Only Legendary Mexican is saying wait commentators, are we contributing to the right Topic??

    • That is the specialty of LT, wrong grammar and subterfuge…..I dare say. For how else can you explain the imponderable rendition of headings?

  15. I am just curious. Why was the Report presented to the President on a Sunday and with three days b4 General Elections which Lungu might or might not lose? Mutembo was on suspension so why is Lungu in a hurry to deal with Mutembo now? Does anybody know? I smell a rat!

  16. “President Lungu said government will ensure transparency so that justice is done.”

And yet there is no information at all on the content of the report. Great…!

  17. If Mutembo Nchito is found guilty, he will appeal to the High Court. Then all of the so called secrets will be out in the open!

  18. THIS IS THE LAST NAIL IN THE COFFIN FOR MEMBE AND HIS CARTEL. AFTER THE ELECTIONS,
PRESIDENT LUNGU WILL IMPLELEENT THE CO TNTS OF THE REPORT, AND THE THE RECOVERY
OF $30 MILLION ZAMBIAN AIRWAYS MONY WILL BEGIN. CORRUPT JUDGES AND LAWYERS WHO
HAVE BEEN BLOCKING THIS MOVE WWILL BE REMOVED, THE ROTTEN CARTEL WITH ITS LEADER
MEMBE, WILL BE TRASHED, AND KOLOPA LUNGU WILL BRING TO AN END THE GRIP THE CARTEL
HAS HAD IN THE PAST ON PRESIDENTS. WELL DONE CHAGWA, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Ba Chile, just chill a bit! $30million Zambian Airways money??!!! That was the same lie begun by RB at a rally held at state house just after he became president. Besides, that is not and has never been part of the Tribunal’s TOR’s. Your president spends his time fighting imaginary “cartels” and Fred Mmembe, instead of working and fixing the economy. You see, despite ECL denying it, you keep telling us that he is “fighting Mmembe & the cartel”.
In a pluralistic society (shud I explain what this means?), everyone has a right to free speech, Mmembe included. If ECL does not know that, then he is unfit to be President. This is not Zimbabwe!

  19. @MANOMAMBULWA , what is the problem with you? If the National team has all Tongas, we don’t say a thing because we know that it represents the best in the country who are available! I don’t care if the Justices come from CB or Zambezi or Kapiri as long as they are justices who served this country well! And I am not even from that province but I am wise! Wiser than Je Je and Under 5 and his supporters. 4 more days and we will not be hearing from your corrupted minds.
