Concourt orders that the main petition be heard today up to midnight.

Headlines Concourt orders that the main petition be heard today up to midnight.

court

The Constitutional Court has ruled that the main election petition challenging the re-election of Edgar Lungu be heard today up to midnight.

And Concourt has dismissed UPND’s application to refer for interpretation to the High Court the issue of the 14 days for lack of merit.

The UPND was denied the application to refer the 14 days interpretation to the High Court because the High Court is subordinate to the Concourt.

But UPND lawyers have responded that they raised the issues of inflation of the votes because Edgar Lungu challenged them to provide evidence in his answer to the main petition.

Meanwhile, the UPND has applied that ZNBC avails them all 19 Hours news bulletins from May 5 to August 11 because they need to refer to them in their evidence.
The matter has stood down for 5 minutes to enable PF lawyers to respond to the new applications.

Further, the court insists there is not much time because the trial has to be concluded by 23:59 Hours.

And the Law Association of Zambia came in to address the Concourt with a proposition to join the case but the Concourt refused because they did not file the applications formally.

The petitioners have also come up with a fresh application to have the full bench decide on whether the Concourt can allow the UPND to make amendments to the petition before trial proceeds.

The petitioners also want to inspect and make copies of all ECZ election materials in various places.

The Concourt will have to make a ruling of these applications before trial can proceed.

    • …by petitioners and LAZ, yes. There is no way LAZ can want to join the case on the very last day (when everyone else is pressed of time). Also, making amendments to the petition on the very last is a no-no, simple. Wanting to photocopy ECZ materials and wading through ZNBC news on the very last day? Funny. The petitioners thought the 14 days was discounting weekends (even weakends), birthdays, eclipse days, sunny days, … Crazy if you ask me!

    • upnd are irritating and when do they expect the respondents to respond to their amendments. After bragging that they had a solid case…..truly under 5!!!!! c u in 2091

    • It would be mad of Zambians to think that judges appointed by Lungu can rule against him!

Yes they ruled against him regarding the ministers to blindfold the opposition into buying the bait. The matter regarding illegal ministers will soon be tabled before the same judges and they will simply reverse the ruling and offer apologies to Lungu and PF ministers.

Why make a ruling in the kiddle of the night? I smell a rat here but Lungu should be reminded that if tries to arrest any opposition leaders immidiately after the court ruling, Zambia will go up in flames just like that. Even PF police and PF soldiers will not manage to save him.

Zambia is a failed state period. Judges have been threatened and told they will not enjoy their stay in their jobs if they rule against Lungu and PF…

    • Zambia is a failed state period. Judges have been threatened and told they will not enjoy their stay in their jobs if they rule against Lungu and PF.

Nothing is permanent! This peace prevailing in Zambia is but just a sham.

    • Going forward UPND should seek independent international monitors involvement in collecting the results papers and take them to ECZ for tabulation so that no one can dispute the results.

Our democracy can be resuscitated if we engage independent UN monitors to actually be stationed at every polling station and physically record the announcing of the results and collect the results papers for tabultaion at ECZ.

Without this strategy folks we should forget the democratic gains we achieved after removing UNIP and KK.

Lungu is now going to be a full blown dictator. Those who think are close to him should be weary of him because they will be his first targets to avoid blackmail.

PF stooges dont say i did not warn youon this one. One by one those PF founder members will be purged…

    • UPND LAWYERS CAUTIONED BY CONCOURT JUDGE

It has emerged that one of the pieces of evidence presented in the ConCourt by UPND on electoral fraud in Lundazi came from an SOCIAL MEDIA publication.

The Constitutional Court Judge could not take kindly to this. She was very tough on the UPND lawyers as she directed them:

“When you come here (Court), you must bring facts and not speculations. Ask your polling agents or assistants for evidence, not frivolous bloggers. This is a court, not a place for bedtime stories. We work on evidence.”

    • @Benzi. As far as you are concerned, you would have colonialism back, just because you want a UPND government at any cost! UPND has petitioned the result. Be patient and wait for the result. From your rant, one can tell that you know that UPND has no locus standi.

    • Reading the PANIC in UPND camp, you don’t whether to CRY or LAUGH at “uku WAYAWAYA” going on with Mushipe and Company. They wasted almost the entire two (2) solid weeks making amendment after amendment and they are NOT DONE yet even on the last day? Amazing really!

Sometimes you wonder if these people HH/GBM and their Lawyers really wanted to take this Case to Court and win. Or they thought by doing so ECL/PF would protest/object and cause mayhem giving them Case to argue to their favourite audience; the FOREIGNERS and SOCIAL MEDIA finger-thumping loonies who always give them false hope. Have they even read the Constitution to understood its meaning?

Now they are caught like Deer in the headlights—looking confused, dazed and paralyzed while the Semi Truck headed their way…

    • How UPND has been technically beaten in the presidential petition. The con court made sure it made it difficult for UPND lawyers present their evidence by doing two things.1.Failing to make Edgar Lungu hand over power.they are mute on this issue.Any normal person can stand as witness in court against the president.so most witness have grown cold feet.2.Delayed the process to frustrate the UPND lawyers and give 6hrs to present evidence. This is the same system ECZ used by delaying the results and deny UPND to do a PVT through non availability of the Gen 12 forms.ECZ then called all the results of 100 costituences in one day and quickly declared ECL as winner after the Job was done by Kaizer Zulu.In all these maneuvers God is watching and will pay them handsomely. Only time will tell.

    • @ Benzi, My friend you will die of heart attache take it cool, mean while you can continue celebrating the failed referendum which you won.

    • People complained about small shortcomings of ECZ, such as shortage or missing of G12 forms, neglecting the overall excellent work done by ECZ regarding the entire round of elections.

But what do we see from them? They could not manage to submit properly even a mere petition, after claiming they had overwhelming evidence.

They kept correcting mistakes until all the 14 days were exhausted; releasing several versions; Ver.1, Ver.2, Ver3, etc. of the same petition hoping that through guess work things might work out.

Now judge for yourself who did better between ECZ’s handling of elections and UPND’s handling of their own petition.

This is the same with MUVI TV, and Komboni radio.

The two condemned IBA saying they did not follow the Act when suspending their license.

      What…

    • What do we see, they themselves violet the Act even more by jumping the Minister and going straight to court, when they know they cannot take IBA to court but the minister’s ruling if not satisfied.

You may say,”but there’s no minister at the moment.”

Yes, there is not minister, I agree. What do you do when you are hungry and food is coming only in 3 hours time? You wait!

So they need to wait until the minister is sworn in.

You may say but is waiting fair? Well, no body advised them to commit an offense at a wrong time. If there is anybody who advised then as such let the pick a case with such a one.

    • ENJOY YOUR NEW CONSTITUTION. The British system of government allows the party with the majority of seats in parliament to form government and appoints a Prime Minister among the MPs of the party forming government. India which is also a former colony has adopted this system except that the Queen is replaced by a non-executive president. The PF would have already formed government under this scenario. Our system is bad because it is possible for a president of a party to win with a minority of seats in parliament who would then have problems in passing laws in parliament just like Obama has problems and instead tries to govern by executive orders. This is why he has failed to change things especially for the betterment of African Americans

    • @1.11 SIDO MARK
Edgar Lungu is the one who has refused to relinquish power. It only shows he is a child grown tall. That’s our president.

    • @1.17 Meimatungu
Compare our violent Edgar Lungu to David Cameron, United Kingdom’s former Prime Minister, who recently stepped-down on his own accord, without being obliged to do so. Cameron left behind an impressive performance record, leaving behind a far stronger economy than the had inherited from Tony Blair. Under Lungu, the denudation of Zambia’s economy is the ugliest ever, since independence. And yet this would be gentleman, feels mandated to appropriate to himself disputable presidential power. But if he, himself, the president cannot obey the law, then who will? Should it surprise us that we are being led by a bunch of thugs, Lungu himself being the chief among them?

    • @ 1.3 Benzi,

Don’t incite people t o think that HH, and GBM are mad.

Do you think HH and GBM are just jocking or they are serious ?

And if they are serious, are you then insinuating that they are mad to do so?

Please don’t belittle big people that way.

    • Its not all Bad News, two years from now, the currency will have completely collapsed, Shylock will want his $7 billion back with additional Interest for default and Il be able to buy any plot in Zambia for 10 Ngwee! Every Cloud has a Silver Lining!

    • I AM LOST HERE: UPND CLAIMED THEY HAD OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE ON THIS MATTER:
      ===========================================
Is this the time they wish to collect evidence of the alleged vote irregularities? Hopeless, they don’t even have a framework of chain of custody of evidence. How can you demand for the chronological documentation or video clips for your evidence from ZNBC? So you don’t have in possession, custody, control, analysis and disposition of physical or electronic evidence? I thought you guys were serious. Why did you choose to waste the Zambians’ time?
      Emotions, emotions, emotions.

    • AT LEAST THE MILK WILL BRING IN MONEY AS FOR YOUR SORRY SELF THERE IS NO MONEY TO PLUNDER EVEN IF YOU BOUNCE BACK IN POWER. WE ARE IN FOR A TOUGH TIME MATE.

    • You cannot legislate against stoopidity and incompetence. Even going to university does not help. Judge Annie Mwewa refused to work over the weekend and evenings and now she realises there is no more time to hear the case and judgement has to be rushed. We should just acknowledge what a charade of a country Zambia is.

  1. This is a typical case of Judges for Hire. Article 103(2) states that ; the constitutional court shall hear an election petition relating to the President elect within fourteen days of the filing of the petition.
    Clearly the word hear is not the same as determine. To hear means to ;
attend to, listen to , take notice of, perceive .
To determine on the other hand means to settle, establish , resolve, conclude, decide , define, finalise.
I submit that the judges handling this matter are corrupt to the core0.

    • The law is not definite like science which have formula to prove a point but it is abstract meaning that it is theoretical so it is subject to different interpretations depending on the angle you are looking at. So the fact that the word hear is used does not necessarily mean that they can not decide because the law is abstract.

    • Ambanwa, any profession has its own language. In the military ‘take-out’ means shot-and-kill, whereas in finance it would typically mean subtraction. ‘Hear’ in law and in the context of the petition in question, might as well mean hear and dispose. It is not expected that the ConCourt would take their sweet time after the 14 days to make a ruling (they could do so, if they so wish), BUT they are aware the nation is waiting upon them – so a quick fire should not surprise anything. Check out the case of Kenya petition of 2013 whereby the Supreme Court delivered an ‘oral’ verdict at the close of the petition hearing days and delivered the detailed written judgement 2 weeks later.

    • You have deliberately misdirected yourself by not quoting the full sentence. You left out a cardinal phrase for concluding within 14 days.

    • @5.3 lapkenifamily
The practice of law is mental gymnastics. It’s more exciting than science. There is always an argument, a counter argument and a re-battle. It’s here where cases are won or lost; no scientific formulas, fortunately.

    • @Ambanwa, with your kind of understanding of issues, no wonder you are in MANGI TROUBLE in Court.

Ichi DUNUU (dununa reverse) chilalisha abacheche. Now, it is LAW’s turn to make you CRY. You invited this double jeopardy on yourselves—muukose bena, muukose!!!

    • Ambanwa. I also argued in those lines. However, a friend of mine married to a lawyer just laughed at me. Lawyers interpreted the law in a different way than non lawyers. If you are not lawyer Ambanwa I would suggest we all keep quite and wait for the court to tell us what is the way forward. Law is not 1+1=2

    • @Lapkenifamily: Notwithstanding your observations, if hearing means just that, why should the decision or verdict be delayed when the court is not expected to receive anymore submissions?

If they can hear the matter in 14 days, they can decide on it within the same period. Or do you want them to go away for some days just to decide the case? Of what benefit is that, and to whom?

    • No they are very sane and logical. They are supposed to hear the case WITHIN 14 days after lodging in the petition. HH/GBM submitted the petition on 19 August 2016 so when do you start counting, from today the fourteenth day after lodging the petition? Common buddy, the petitioners should not have wasted time on preliminary issues. Remember out of the 22 witnesses statements, the petitioners just need one to succeed.

  2. Surely, they should have applied for this evidence from ZNBC 14 days ago. Why apply for it on the last day? I don’t understand the game the petitioners are playing. This is serious incompetency.

    • @MyZambia,
LOL.. Are you seriously suggesting that you would give your opponent’s mouthpiece (ZNBC)as much as 2 weeks warning that you will be coming to their premises to get information that will incriminate them and their masters, and expect them not to edit out all incriminating evidence from the tapes? You sound like a stand-up comedian.

    • Ba @Cactus, you still haven’t understood what @My Zambia is saying? Gosh, whatever they are trying to do today should have been done two weeks ago, simples! The application is made to the Court and then you act IMMEDIATELY.

You sound like a radio comedian…

    • Thank you @Vizungu. It appears @Cactus misunderstood my point or chose to misunderstand it. Let me elaborate further on your clarification, just to make sure @Cactus understands. If they had applied for it two weeks ago, they would have got it then and been prepared for the case today. They would have furnished the respondents with a copy of it because that is what the law requires. Even if the judges had said the case ends September 8, applying for that evidence today would still have been late because of the points I have raised.Hopefully, this is simple enough for you (@Cactus) to comprehend.

    • In fact, if it is evidence enough, they should have had it already. At least by date and time reference.
These are *****ic incompetent time wasters.

    • @vizungu,
LOL, I will slow it down for you.
If you are informed today that you are required by court order to release recorded tapes by midnight tonight, you will have no time to edit those tapes but release them by midnight. If you, on the other hand, are told you have a fortnight to do it, you will have plenty of time to edit before releasing.

Now which part this statement don’t you still understand?

    • Yaba ba Cactus, the applications would have been done two weeks ago and the said evidence collected the same two weeks ago. So, to you, the fact that the matter is being heard today means the evidence from ZNBC should have been submitted today? Maybe that’s where you’re missing the point!

    • Cactus is thinking like a thief (getting things through smash and grab). Mwana the law doesn’t work that way. Even in football ngawabelamina its an offside your goal wont count. That’s exactly what has happened to your petition lawyers. Kupwarara!!

    • @Lobyo
      @Umunandi
      @Myzambia
      @vizungu.
LOL. You are either very naïve about our brand of politics in Zambia or you are vainly trying to be deceitful. Based on PF Govt’s evident disregard of court rulings and the rule of law, the notion that PF Govt’s mouthpiece (ZNBC) would willingly have handed over incriminating tapes two weeks ago WITHOUT creating delaying tactics in order to edit them first, sounds like the beginning of a very funny joke. This is a no brianer, guys
Try something with more plausible substance. Good luck.

    • Ba cactus, show us what good your leaving things too late has done to your case. Where are the recordings you have been crying about? I rest my case!

    • @Laso,
LOL Among other things, this tactical move has bought more time as you are by now aware, AND reduced the odds that ZNBC will edit out all incriminating evidence over the weekend. I rest my case!

  3. UPND were never ready, typical of under 5 politics. The Country can’t be held to ransom by such mediocrity and incompetence in the name of justice. Looks like UPND need four years to be ready for this case. Now they want to go and photocopy papers and get recording from ZNBC? Shouldn’t you have done this immediately after the results were announced?

This is wasting the nation’s time to move on.

    • …and yes, this is when judges dismiss the case WITH costs! The mediocrity and incompetence of the petitioners ought to be punished – to think 14 days means something else is funny, very funny.

  4. It’s unfortunate that these lawyers don’t understand that from the inception of the ConCourt all interpretations of the constitution are under their belt. I’m sure even the judges don’t understand that coz of the reason provided for the refusal-High Court is a lower court. These guys made a lot of noise at the beginning. Looks like the evidence that they claimed to have is bizarre. I have every reason to believe that these guys dont have a solid case

  5. This is a super circus. UPND lawyers shooting in the dark. Where have they been all this time? All these arguments about the interpretation of the 14 days is just a waste of time. In the real world any smart person would have planned for the worst case scenario i.e assume it was 14 calendar days so as to avoid getting caught out. And also, simple logic tell you that you are not gonna be able to get so much ZNBC news footage & be able to package it for the court within the short time they have been allocated today. What are these people playing at and where are they really from? Oh, wait a minute, maybe they know their goose is cooked but just want to be seen to be arguing one way or the other….

    • @Laso.
LOL. Your comment reflects your level of IQ.
Are you seriously suggesting that you would give your opponent’s mouthpiece (ZNBC)as much as 2 weeks warning that you will be coming to their premises to get information that will incriminate them and their masters, and expect them not to edit out all incriminating evidence from the tapes?

    • Ba @Cactus ubukopo, even dripping like honey!! How do you want it explained to you? They could have presented their petition on ZNBC on the first day and obtained the material 12 hrs later. Still can’t get thru your thick skull?

    • Cactus, I was tempted to not respond to you so you can enjoy your ignorance but I feel so much pity for you I’ve decided to enlighten you a little bit so you can start the weekend with a little more knowledge.
      1. if your lawyers had on the first day asked the court to order ZNBC to avail news recordings, they could have been released there and then with no editing u seem to fear so much.
      2. If your lawyers had asked to have the 14 days provision interpreted on the first day they would have had time to prepare their case with the stipulated time frame rather than the way they have been caught out now.
while you are busy questioning my IQ your lawyers are busy looking stupid in court and your opponents are busy laughing their way to the inauguration of their candidate. Who…

    • @Laso,
      @jtwsy
      @umunandi
LOL. You are either very naïve or vainly trying to be deceitful. This is a no brianer. Try something with more plausible substance. Good luck.

    • @10 Laso
Stormy seas make good sailors. These learned lawyers are in uncharted territory. They are learning the dance while on the performance stage. At the end of the day, they would have earned their money.

  6. Mockery is an understatement…MADNESS IS THE CORRECT TERM! Normally, a person or a few persons could get mad at a given time, now this madness of the highest judges to collectively run a bizarre process is INSANITY!!! Sebana wikute(get embaranced but get your belly filled up) mentality!

    • “Damn it feels good to be a gangster”…..! Remember that song from the film Office!!! Jennifer Arniston and others! My feelgood movie of all time. HH can pick up a hint from the main character who loses his job to find another more peaceful one.

In fact, maybe ZNBC/Movie Channel can find the movie and play it for waiting Cadres!!

      Rap away!

    • @Keenfollower the time isn’t given by Judges rather it prescribed for by the constitution hence the judges hands are tiedthey have no choice but to comply the constitution requirement.

  7. The judges are corrupt after all they were appointed by Jameson Vodka Chakolwa Rungu to represent him in case issues such as election result petition rises up…

    • Vodka Chakolwa has really fired real bullets. You must be ashamed of yourselves. Chakolwa has defeated HH for the third time. You have heaped on him all types of names and insults then the guy still defeats you. On the 15th of Feb 2015 he defeated, on the 11th August 2016 he wallops you and this time in court he proves to be smarter than you. What type of Chakolwa is this? I would want to know the substance he is made of. A man who has inflicted defeated on the Zambia Selected Political Team of HH, Guy Scot, GBV, Mpombo, Nervous Mumba, Milupi, Miles Away, C. Banda and others. This Chakolwa is surely a great man.

  8. It would be mad of Zambians to think that judges appointed by Lungu can rule against him!

Yes they ruled against him regarding the ministers to blindfold the opposition into buying the bait. The matter regarding illegal ministers will soon be tabled before the same judges and they will simply reverse the ruling and offer apologies to Lungu and PF ministers.

Zambia is a failed state period. Judges have been threatened and told they will not enjoy their stay in their jobs if they rule against Lungu and PF…

    • @Benzi, come on my fellow compatriot……let’s love one another. After all was it not UPND that was going to arrest all in PF and send ECZ staff to the Gallows?!

    • Lungu visited them at night through dreams to warn them,of death.with the acquired spiritual powers from Malawi Lungu is now strong.Even Sata had strong charms but he died while cry ati please shi Castro dekeleko teine wakwi peye.lol lol Lesa ni malyotola.time will tell.

  9. BUT THESE GUYS ARE TIME WASTERS. WHAT WERE THEY DOING ALL THIS TIME? AND ZNBC WHICH IS POORLY EQUIPPED CAN TELL YOU ANYTHING AT THIS ELEVENTH HOUR. SUPPOSE THEY SAY THE EQUIPMENT IS FAULTY AND AWAITING A SPECIALIST TO COME AND REPAIR ON MONDAY. ITS NOT ZNBCs FAULT THAT YOU DELAYED THE CASE. IF ANYTHING ,UPND SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECORDING THE NEWS ON THEIR OWN.
MAKING AMENDMENTS TO THE PETITION AT THE ELEVENTH HOUR? MEANING YOU PRESENTED A FAULTY CASE INITIALLY. WHAT INCOMPETENCE!!!

  10. 1. As the PFools cerebrate whatever the outcome of the Con.court lets not forget about the hunger Management and come to reality that the country has been taken over by the Kingdom of the dark world, meaning everyone is now in the dark, very few people will see light because there is darkness. Our King is now ruling by ignorance, deceit and he is there to destroy and kill. The roads that you are boasting about from the Eurobond kaloba are costing us doubt the amount our colleagues are paying for in the neighboring countries. Where is the other money going? When the economy is performing badly they always make comparison with countries which are also not doing fine e.g. south Africa whose leader was recently convicted for misappropriating Government fund for his private business. Why not…

  11. Psssssssssssst, hey Ms Mushipe&Co……’High Court is subordinate to the Concourt.’ What dumbAs.s lawyers are these. They didn’t even serve the other parties until prompted!

I am glad to see our Lovely Judges understand High Drama! We are falling out of the Theatre Stalls laughing! The best thing is to do exactly what they are doing…treating HH&Co like persky irritating mosquitos nibbling at them!

    • BUT WE WON’T BE ASLEEP AT MIDNIGHT!! God trick, but as today is Friday, any Zambian with gumption will sit it out. I bet the Cadres will be outside waiting……….!

    • Officespace is a really funny movie. You’ll laugh until you cry!! HH will really find it helpful in moving forward as he sings to UPND demanding he leaves……’take this job and shove it…….I ain’t President here no more’

  12. President HH !! Its time for you to pass the hand to the next leader of the party. Thank you for all the efforts.

Please concede and allow the nation to move on. These lawyers are there just to make make money. They know you have no case.

That’s why they cant even prepare the case fully, hoping if it prolongs, so that they can cash-in more.

  13. To my fellow party members. Please don’t raise you hopes. HH has no case – whatsoever.

And if HH had to win ( just supposing ) Zambia will go to war. PF in the 7 provinces will not accept. They will burn down the nation.

The person behind all this is FRED M’membe to frustrate Lungu. But Lungu is a good patience man

    • I am not a lawyer but I can surely lay this point out. Hh has been played both by media houses such as muvi and komboni radio and as well as by Mushipe. MONEY is a magnet of all that is bad in this world. People will mislead you and gladly throw you under the bus just to get their greasy hands on your money.Hh you have allowed them to ruin your political career. They have made a fool of you and have dented your PR image. Look at all this. Now after this you will have to go deal with ICC. Do you realise how much damage this has caused to not only your political but your business career too. I doubt many foreign business men will want to do business with you after all is said and done. You should have hired and image consultant from the onset. Truth is you really look bad. You have been…

  14. @UPND UK TEAM
I salute you! UPND Generals and a few of us have talked lungs out on why HH must stand down and pave way for another leader. We could not have reached this comatose. The Party should quickly call for a convention so that we also sort out those who migrated (no names for now) just to get our positions.
Think of it even when the matter will be concluded at 23:59 the man (HH) cannot read between the lines. This is a total disaster and a lesson to “Election Investors” like Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba of Kasama, who believes money can buy anything! BB

    • Uk UPND team and Brain Bweengwa you aRE NOT upnd MEMBERS BUT EMANUAEL MWAMBA.we in the UPND are we are behind comrade HH.Let anyone dare him we shall deal with him.Form your own party .Its time to morn not to fight.HH won but they will not give him presidency because he is Tonga even you put another leader as long as he is Tonga or Lozi they will stop him.The way forward is to divide Zambia fullstop.

    • 19.1. I feel for you my bro/sister. Brain deficiency hasn’t got a cure yet. U ve got a long way to go before you can recover…

  15. 103 (4) A decision of the Constitutional Court under clause (3) is final. Why go to High Court? Lungu is very intellegent!!!!!!

    • PF cadres are not even reading this, they are busy in the barbershops getting all manner of haircuts and polishing their high boots for an all night dununa reverse party…

    • @Chanda, dont look down on people… Zambia is bigger than UPND, PF or any individual politician. We are one and it shall forever be like that. We had BY Mwila, Dean Mungomba, Mazoka, etc. All power people, but non was bigger than our great nation Zambia.

  16. HH and GBM, NOW OPEN YOUR EYES YOU DUMB PEOPLE. This is how God responds to rude, pompous and cantankerous people. This is the beginning of your end. You will never forget this lesson. Hatred and vengeance will never take you anywhere. There is nothing else why you brought about this case, it is because of hatred for Lungu period. Now let us see what happens from here. I can just foresee this petition being thrown out due to lack of evidence. I am so happy these two dunderheads will pour out their millions to their inept and stupid lawyers for doing absolutely nothing. It is money down the drain.
And UPND will be sent into political oblivion. Canisius Banda forewarned HH, but as usual HH NEVER listened.

  17. Guys I smell a big rat here…..why is the Concourt busy dismissing UPND’s application of relevant evidence that ACH time and none from the PF. Thesejjudges are corrupt to the core, no respect for the rule of law. They keep twisting the case. I feel sad for our country, Zambia is not indeed a failed state.

    • @25 Inzaghifmc
If the President is the one who appoints judges to the bench of the Constitutional Court, shouldn’t we expect such judges to be devoid of independence?

    • No rat and No smell either. The petitioners are doing the unthinkable, that is all there is here. To attempt to have the High Court interpret the 14 day petition hearing window is a no-no (any law student knows that). To amend the petition at the very last day is like making a substitution on the 90th minute when you are already 4 goes down – simply funny. The petitioners OUGHT to have been spot-on with the case and NOT ask the court to waste time on non-issues such as ECZ materials (you need to note here that the petitioners have no evidence against ECZ in the meantime. To ask the ConCourt to seize ECZ materials was simply absurd – its like Cops impounding your car for no reason at all -believe it or not, any sane court would NOT allow it).

    • @25.2 No Rat and No Smell
Good point. For whatever reason, UPND lawyers are here acting like misfiring spark plugs. Are they drunk?

    • @Inzaghifmc feel sad for yourself. Its your foolish Lawyers who are only focused on the money they will generate out of this high profile case instead of being focused on the case. Your foolish lawyers have twisting the case and delaying from they start. Playing delaying tactics in your own half when you know that you are two goals down and the game has to be played in 14 days. The Concourt simply discharged all the applications PF inclusive because of time factor. This is the first case a and a very good precedence for future reference needs to be set here. For the future presidential petition the judges will be referring to this case, ECL Vs HH on which ECL wired HH through the ballot and in court.

  18. They said they had a water tight case, I can’t see whether the case leaking. I definitely need a pair of lenses or a pair of binoculars. UPND Lawyers so many u-turns, why now. Where is the evidence after 14 days?

    • @27 Donald
The President, I suppose. But if so, how independent and unbiased can these judges be, law being so fluid, always taking the shape of its container?

    • Judges are appointed by the president ONLY IF RATIFIED by parliament. Ratification is such a big catch here and simply means parliament has such a major say.

Article 140. The President shall, on the recommendation of the Judicial
Service Commission and subject to ratification by the National
      Assembly, appoint the—
      (a) Chief Justice;
      (b) Deputy Chief Justice;
      (c) President of the Constitutional Court;
      (d) Deputy President of the Constitutional Court; and
      (e) other judges.

    • Rats and Monkeys will celebrate to night.while Cows, wild beasts and water lizards will cry bitterly. The animal farm con court will rule that Rats and Monkeys are better than Cows, wildbeasts and water lizards. The only consolation with cows ,wild beasts and water lizards will have their eyes open to that fact that they don’t belong to an animal farm called Zambia but should fight to return like a prodigal son to their mother land called Barosteland or North western Rhodesia. The Rats and Monkeys are scared that onnce cows and other hard working animals leave they will starve to death.Hence they are preaching of one Zambia and peace be with every animal. They are saying we are equal while in there hearts they know we are rulers keeping working for us as we steal from you. What a piece of drama…

  19. HH IS AFOOL HU HAS PUT THE NATION AT STANSTILL KOZ HE DOESENT CARE.THE FOOL STAYS IBN SOUTH AFRICA AND DOESENT CARE BOUT THE STANDOFF.MAY THIS STUPID PETITION BE THROWN OUT TODAY.TWANAKA.

  20. UPND should have been told by GBM that ‘Ba mukolwe ngabafula tabucha bwangu’ Too many cooks spoil the broth ! All those Mushipes plus 14 others are just there to chew HH’s money. Each applicatio made has a huge cost attached to it (K100,000) so the losers much prepare to lose ranches, milling plants, borrowed trucks and a few heads of cattle !!!

    • @29 Pilgrim
They ought to know what is at stake – the future of our country. This is not about HH or ECL. It’s about Zambia and her people, the peace loving Zambians; the voiceless and suffering majority. They deserve better.

    • Pilgrim: is it true? And who is paid the K100,000? Is it the ConCourt or the petitioners lawyers? Please clarify. Thanks.

  21. Time for the minds to settle down to business. It must be exciting for those lawyers and those judges. Let them show the world what mettle they are made out of.

  22. “I appointed the Judges,I sworn them, I decide,I remain president, I’ll look after them” Edgar Chagwa Lungu
Watch the space, we are in Africa ?, if. It turns out different kaya

    • YOU ARE VERY DULL. IF THOSE JUDGES ARE CORRUPT, THEY CAN STILL RULE IN FAVOUR OF HH AND TELL HIM THAT ONCE WE MAKE YOU WIN, YOU GIVE US SOME MULA OR PROMOTE US BETTER JOBS/SALARIES. SO YOUR ARGUMENT DOES NOT STAND EVEN A BIT.

    • Judges are appointed by parliament. The president simply nominates them. Blame it on parliament if you really-really wish to.

Article 140. The President shall, on the recommendation of the Judicial
Service Commission and subject to ratification by the National
      Assembly, appoint the—
      (a) Chief Justice;
      (b) Deputy Chief Justice;
      (c) President of the Constitutional Court;
      (d) Deputy President of the Constitutional Court; and
      (e) other judges.

    • iwe @Honest Opinion, the flag says you are in America, who appoints High Court Judges there? Isn’t it the President and then Congress do the confirmation formalities? So what is so suspicious about the Zambian system of having the President nominat Judges and Parliament does the Confirmation part of the equation? Oh, I forgot, to some of you anything done by “Africans” in Africa is corrupt and dirty, even though the same system is used where you are. And one would have thought having lived abroad/America people would learn a few things—ubu fontini ba @Honest Opinion muleke!

  23. “UPND has applied that ZNBC avails them all 19 Hours news bulletins from May 5 to August 11 because they need to refer to them in their evidence.” I can’t understand this. This is about 95 days and every news is 30 or minutes. 30 X 95 days = 2850/60=47.5 hours =48hrs. This simply means the court will be just watching past 19hrs news for more than two days continuously as eveidence from UPND. Am not a lawayer help me.

    • Its madness coz the tespondents will simply ask to have all the evidence replayed in slow motion for that matter ! HH’s lawyers are simply procrastinating for Money ! 7/10 rejected HH so who foes he think will support him

    • Thats a lot of news to watch. Elo ninshi ZNBS news is boring. Are those lawyers trying to make the Judges quit out of boredom lol

  24. That’s a problem of getting unreliable information from ZWD.When you take a case to court you have to be serious. Don’t just get stories from the media.Go to court with evidence. Sad and you want people to trust you with power.

  25. When two elephants fight, its grass that suffers. From 11th August, 2016 when the people of Zambia were asked to chose their leader they spoke through the vote, but what is surpring is the manner in which some selfish individuals want to go against what the people of Zambia choose. Please Zambia has for a long time stood to be a model in maintaining peace and stability in Africa and also in the world as a whole, why make the country come to a stand still just because of few selfish individuals? What we should know is that this is not the end of having elections in Zambia, 5 yrs later elections will again be conducted. Why not learn from what has happened and prepare adequately. The one’s claiming to have won the elections have some of their members in police custody having tried to…

  26. From overrated party officials seeking public offices to publicity seeking lawyers, this is just a bunch of political clowns. The country can not be held at ransom just for selfish reasons. The outcome of this case is the result of playing to the gallery by the petitioners.

  27. the so clalled learned judges are raping..and masturbating the law of Zambia in every way..we are watching..why Zambia..???

  28. @ Benzi you say UPND should seek independent international monitors involvement in collecting the results papers and take them to ECZ for tabulation so that no one can dispute the results. Do you know the first people who announced that Edgar has won by 50.7% were international monitors EU Observers.

  29. I still have respect for Zambia despite the Concourt “brouhaha and hullabaloo” ( Mpombo : 2016) . Tell me in which African country you can still have state institutions and business fully functioning when no president and Head of State has been sworn in for 14 days. Thumbs up to Zambia! You are pace setters in Africa…

  30. Pipo, even in th US, judges are appointed by th president. Realy, petitioners’ lawyers cud v done better. Lets unite, politicians com n go, Zambia z here till judgement day. It’s either petitioners’ lawyers are incompetent or th unpd guys were simply contributing 2 th body of knowledge in Law. Gud 4 law students, very soon thy’l refer to these cases as HH vs EL.

    • @39 Sir lussacs
What a mess the US political system is! Is it not partly because of the fact that a US president is the one who appoints those Supreme Court Justices?

    • @39 Sir lussacs
If the US, which is, by far, much less of a corrupt country than Zambia, can have its judiciary system so politicized, how much more vulnerable Zambia’s can be?

  31. @Benzi you say that UPND should seek independent international monitors involvement in collecting the results papers and take them to ECZ for tabulation so that no one can dispute the results. Do you know that international monitors EU Obsevers were the first to say Edgar has won and were rebuked by Judge Chuulu

  32. To all you bloggers saying, “The judges are corrupt”

You knew this way before the petition and still went ahead asking the same judges you now perceive corrupt to hear and decide your case., what an irony? Should the petition fall in your favor, will you still say that judges are corrupt? Just shut up and follow the game PERIOD

  33. When we told you HH had made a big mistake by appointing GBM and Not Canisius Banda as running mate you called us names. Canisius would have got more votes from both Eastern and Northern. The Easterners werent happy at how HH treated Canisius hence the whitewash in Eastern. When you look at HH even today, ask yourself, who has he surrounded himself with ? Is it the old UPND members or hungry scavenging vultures ? Thats why youll never hear Cornelius Mweetwa talking for UPND these days. He backed out bells ago.

    • @43 to hell with your stories the issue here is a Tonga you call Kachema ,Ngombe ilede should never rule Zambia. We are educated and wise enough to know that as long as you are Tonga,Lozi or Kaonde you will never rule in Zambia. We have decieded and you shall hear from us a new John Garang of south sudan will be born.we shall leave trenches for a few months Zambia will be no more ,but two countries will emerge. The new one we shall call it Zambezi republic. It will be federal in nature so that each province will be a state so as to decentralize power and enjoy peace. We no it will not be easy but we prepared to fight.

    • @43.1 CIA(operation black eagle)
I see you getting dehydrated even before the race starts. Remember, you may perspire; don’t expire. We still need you.

  34. No one will be arrested after the Concourt rulling. Unless may be if the UPND wins aling the way can we expect arrests. I can assure you no one will be arrested. Peace will only come to Zambia if PF wins. Otherwise I see chaos.

    • lair this time Zambia shall see no peace.we want to be free.its better to die while standing than kneeling to Bembas.

    • $3.3 you can not intimidate a man like me.We are not cowards like you.I would rather die while standing than kneeling before a Bemba.

  35. Zambia is a failed state. I miss MCS and Levy. Our economy is in recession. The gap between the poor and the rich is extremely wide. I will not be suprised if the concourt rules in favour of Lungu. Our Judiciary is compromised.
The hard fought for democracy has been defeated by PF. A true meaning of their campaign song of Going backwards. Indeed all the achievements of Levy and MCS have been reversed by PF under Lungu. Zambia is worse now than at a time of Magande and HIPC.
It’s a dark moment for Zambia.

    • Hope you know the difference between failed-state and economic crisis. Zambia is an economic crisis BUT is not a failed state. You don’t have petitions in failed states.

  36. Funny. The petitioners did not ask the interpretation of 7 days in which to petition whether it included working days and managed to file before 7days “successfully”. On 14 days to hear the petition we want interpretation???!!!!!! and to mean no working days.

  37. 45 open your eyes Zambia is gone.It wont be business as usual. After you rig ati peace one Zambia bla bla .Foreget Zambia its just good for history and civic education text books.Time to fight is now.We shall not continue watching our children being denied Jobs and previleges because they are Tongas ,Kaondes or Lozis. Its better to fight for them now they will be proud of us in free Zambezi republic.

    • THE PROBLEM IS THAT
YOU MOVE WITH “TRIBE” WRITTEN ON YOUR FOREHEAD
      AND POSSIBLY ON YOU FORESKIN!!
WE ARE ALREADY INTERMARRIAGED AND IT’S IRREVERSIBLE
AND HAVE GREATER KIDS THAN YOUR NAZISM SUGGESTS.

  38. Interesting to see so much pleasure in a corrupted judicial set up. Wait till you get locked up and your rival buys the court judge, corruption has no face. One day it will bite the very ones ululating today. Mark my word.

  39. let them pass the judgement so that we move forward the damage has already been made….. let them stop acting funny has if they were looking into the matter wiliest they know what they are up to.

  40. BUILD A ROAD,OR ANY REMARKABLE STRUCTURE,PEOPLE, BUSINESS, AND MORE EMPOWERMENT WILL COME… SO STOP WASTING OUR TIME SIR. AND PLEASE STOP PRETENDING NOT TO KNOW HOW DEVELOPMENT CHANGE A NATION AND ITS PEOPLE. LUSAKA TIMES PLEASE LET THIS REACH OUR LEADERS….THANK YOU.

  41. Kwena bane njipusheko, bushe ka Upnd kanamanshi? Is it a kitten or poodle or puppy?
I ask this because of the “amendments” that UPND is demanding now. How could anyone in his normal sense demand to start reviewing ZNBC news bulletins to today? Sonthey have no evidence at all? Awe mwandi nika pushi aka ka Upnd.

  42. And if UPND leaders and lawyers are human beings, they must now be convinced beyond reasonable doubt that their demand for the president to step aside when a petition.is filed is most irresponsible and most unreasonable. If the petition were to go on for the next few years as theybare demanding then a country should have no president? You can never win an election if you are that irresponsible. It is underfive games, ruling a country is very serious business.

  43. Sir H.H i as much as i like you i voted for Mr.Edgar Lungu and PF, because i believe in them. LAS VEGAS WAS ONCE A DESERT,DUBAI WAS ONCE A DESERT,SUN CITY AND SUN HOTEL WERE BUILT WERE THERE WAS A DESERT, RIGHT NOW CHINA IS BUILDING AN AIRPORT ON A MAN -MADE ISLAND, TO NAME BUT A FEW. Mr.HH AND THOSE PEOPLE THAT SAY “ARE WE GOING TO FEED ON THE ROAD” DO YOUR RESEARCH RIGHT. SO SIR PLEASE LEADER -UP. ACCEPT YOUR LOSS AND MORE ON PLEASE. GOD IS FAIR, 2021 AM SURE YOU WILL WIN. BUT NOT THIS TIME.

  44. UPND SHOULD NOT JUST BE ALLOWED TO LOSE LIKE THAT. WHAT ABOUT THE FIVE BALLOT PAPERS THAT MUSHIPE HAD? WHERE DID SHE GET THEM FROM? THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE SCREENED SERIOUSLY. I CAN SMELL A RAT. UPND HAD CONCOCTED A SCHEME TO DISCREDIT THE POLLS. SO THAT GUY WAS PLANTED BY MUSHIPE AND COHORT. THE CHAP WHO ENTERED THE ECZ TOTALING CENTRE IS ANOTHER MANIFESTATION OF A HOAX. IT MUST BE INVESTIGATED. THESE LIARS MUST BE BROUGHT TO BOOK. THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE CLEVER. NOW GOG IS EMBARRASSING THEM PUBLICLY.

  45. I like this soap, and I will definitely miss this episode.Unfortunately there shall be no more episodes after midnight.Help me please to save on my flash.Am failing to.Anyway am glad it came this far. They have been given an opportunity to substantiate their claims of vote rigging and they have blown it up.Let them keep quiet

    after midnight…..Losers!!!!

  46. forget about Zambia .take me seriously those that know the history of Zambia will tell you that Zambia is simply a unitary state.I say no one will force to remain in Zambia. Those who think they will manage to divide rule southern,Western and North western should forget. These provinces are the mother of every Tonga,Lozi,Luvale,Kaonde,Lenje,Soli, and Lundas in Copperbelt and Lusaka. So are northern,Eastern and Luapula are the mother of the Bembas and Nyanjas in Lusaka and copperbelt. We have equal numbers and we can effectively defend our territory in Northen Western Rhodesia. We shall make sure we divide this country accoding to the 1911 map.Zambia will die with Kaunda.

  47. Of course the judges will come back with the same verdicted they delivered on 11 August…! How can Zambians and the opposition expect these people to change overnight? They would be shooting themselves in the foot if they asked for a re-count or told Lungu that he is not a winner afterall. The country is already divided and it has been like this since MMD came to power.

ZAMBIANS REMEMBER THAT THE RICH ARE TOO RICH TO CARE ABOUT THE POOR…!

  48. I hear the concourt has rejected 90% of the evidence produced by UPND.Is there such a thing as “rejecting” evidence?

    • Yes, if it is not relevant to the case the preliminary court accepted to be brought and heard. It’s all about relevance.

  49. Sunny Chintombwa (HH) naulusa. Even if elections were called again Chintombwa teti awine….Bye Bye
You were told but did not listen..

  50. This is nothing less of a circus…
When not even LAZ can follow the Law to submit formal application.

“And the Law Association of Zambia came in to address the Concourt with a proposition to join the case but the Concourt refused because they did not file the applications formally. “

  51. @1.3 Benzi

    How can you say:

“It would be mad of Zambians to think that judges appointed by Lungu can rule against him!”

Why should you start assuming that ust because HH and GBM have faith in the Constitutional Court, then they are mad?

Don’t you know that they have the right to exercise their democratic rights?

Don’t incite people t o think that HH, and GBM are mad.

Do you think HH and GBM are just jocking or they are serious ?

And if they are serious, are you then insinuating that they are mad to do so?

Please don’t belittle big people that way. As zambians let us please aplroach matters with respect and the right attitude.

    • @Benzi 1.3 should just sit down and enjoy England! Ale bwata limbi na bond olo business takwata ku Zambia so kule bosa bosa fye!

Umwana tale bomfya bongo bongo! I think ale fwaikwa baptism by fire aka teacher Jane or something! Li saka!

  52. Midnight approaches. All will be clear. Chess in the dark will be over and the games are done. The real work remains to be done and it’s up to ALL to keep the peace we should guard jealously as sometimes it is all we really have.

  53. Midnight hour will be interesting. The handlers and sponsors of puppet UPND president HH should understand from the 14 day events in our independent concourt that we the people of Zambia are prepared to burn ALL the contracts and documents signed by those puppets like HH. The verdict of the concourt is only the beginning. Wait for more. This message goes also to the corrupted local tribal elite which continues to sleep with the enemy. The young generation of Zambians will not have the patience of their fathers.
They have the melanin and the stamina to take on anyone.

  54. UPND LAWYERS ABANDONING GET THE CASE?
COMEDY AS MARTHA MUSHIPE SHOUTS AT THE JUDGE AND IS THREATENED WITH CONTEMPT OF COURT

  55. HICHILEMA BLAMES COURT,
Following the collapse of the electoral petition challenging the election of President Edgar Lungu and the protest withdrawal of his lawyers from the case, United Party for National Development(UPND) Leader Hakainde Hichilema took the stand and addressed the Court.
He has blamed the Court for the failure of the Case.
He also accused the Court of failing to rule on the application they made regarding who should exercise executive functions during the period of the Petition.
The Court had given 14 days in which the Petition could be heard as provided for in the Constitution.
However Hichilema’s lawyers used the opportunity to go on a fishing expedition raising numerous preliminary matters disregarding the main Petition.
Hichilema also blamed what he termed a…

  56. HICHILEMA BLAMES COURT,
    Lusaka-2nd September 2016
Hichilema also blamed what he termed a single Judge in reference to Judge Ann Sitali who the Constitutional Court tasked to hear preliminary matters.
Hichilema stated that he had come to seek Justice but had been failed by the Court.
It is expected that the Court will adjourn to enable it make a final determination.
Hichilema also insisted that he should not have been bound by time limits as stipulated by the Constitutional Court as his right to heard was a fundamental human right.
He has requested the Court to give him an hour to confer with his lawyers on the forward.
The Court has adjourned and will convene after an hour.

    • Newsflash…….HH and his legal team walk out of Concourt moments before the judgement is given, stating that the case was unfair. dramatcaly, he yeled back as he eft the court, “We are takng it to the european Human Rights Curt, they will rule in my favour and I shalcome back with the Right to enter State House.” it is said he fell down the stairs shortly as he was not paying attention.

  57. HH has gone to tell his lawyers that he will.not pay them for walking out on him.
Don’t worry HH, the lawyers will still give you their bill. If you don’t pay they will go back to the same judiciary and sue you with costs. And they are smart, those lawyers are on money matters, including Martha Mushipe and Jack Mwiimbu whom you thought were your friends. They will make sure that you pay before you start addressing your other creditors. Just start negotiating with GBM how you will share the bills, otherwise your businesses and cows will be liquidated to recover the debts. What a way to end your life. Anyway, never mind HH, you can start again as we are about to privatise Zamtel..
    .

  58. @78 Captain Sankara, are you saying that HH’s lawyers walked out (ZNBC News called it “recused themselves”) without consulting their client? Unheard of in Zambian law history, walking out on a client?

    • very common. when a legal team feel conflicted perhaps because they discover their client has deliberately told them a lie. to protect their reputation and to keep in line with Legal Body rules, they can walk out.

  59. HI, participants,
I said it on this media that LAZ has failed to show leadership in the Law dispensation particular in this time of elections. I doubted their desire to join the team when the procession was already in motion. Being the mother body of law, Zambians expected the body to be proactive and advise correctly.

What is very worry some is the the body cannot even apply correctly. What then is left with a layman when the master cannot show seriousness on such critical and national threatening issue? LAZ is now in wrong hands, under madam ka sonde. The beauty of mama lady is no help for the mammoth challenge before her. Her feet are too small for the shoes. ( Bob marley sang that song).

With this current LAZ leadership, Zambians let’s get ready to get mediocre services…

  60. SOMEBODY NEEDS TO COMFORT HH, HE IS ALONE: SERIOUSLY HE MAY BE IN IMMERSE EMOTIONAL BREAKDOWN SITUATION
    ====================================
I am sitting here wondering and trying so had to put myself in HH’s boots. What a lonely feeling for him. Everyone he turns to, don’t seem to be helping. First he turned to GBM, Guy Scott, Miles Sampa, Mulenga Sata, lately Nevers S. Mumba and more importantly his followers on this Blog who are not offering a comforting touch for a fair shot at reality of life. None of these guys are helping him and now he realises that he has slammed the Police, Church, ECZ, the Courts and basically all government institutions.
Losing an election should be likened to losing someone you loved through death. It is so heartbreaking that you wished you were dreaming…

  61. Rejoice after stealing votes. It won’t be an easy ride, God will definitely punish you thieves. You may think you’re clever by dribbling others but there are consequences for every sin time will tell.

  62. Tick………….tock…………tick…………tock……..
    tick……………………tock..tick..tock..tick..tock..tick.tock.tick.tock………..no.news?

  63. Good Morning every one.

The Race is not for the swiftest.

But the one who endures the race.

    NOW LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    On MONDAY

  64. Most Dramatic Exit – Legal Team UPND

Best Sound Design – collective groans emitted by a divided nation

Surprise Newcomers – Counsel HH, GBM Legal Zentertainers

Most Tragic Performer – Countdown clock set to Zed People Time

Outstanding Role in Confusion Generated Special FX – The Zed Constitution

Best Premature Online Dramatic Exit – Katondo “Poison Death Wishes” Boys

Best Non Fiction Comedic Screenplay – A tie between all parties present and the Zed constitution

Lifetime Achievement Award – Peacefully patient Zambians

Most Sought After Prop This Weekend – High Blood Pressure Pills

  65. The tragedy of this matter is not the UPND exercising their right to challenge injustice. It is the ignorance, pettiness, refusal to uphold processes and the rule of law by most Zambians – including purchased lawyers and judges wallowing in the decadence of PF political primitiveness. The tragedy is the readiness of gullible Zambians, devoid of principles, analysis, objectivity or broadness of mind to swallow hook, line and sinker the diatribes and machinations of the PF regime for a few pieces of silver or unsustainable crumbs from Lungu’s banquet table. The tragedy is the myopia – inability to see that perpetuating PF rule on irrational uninformed prejudices about other people who are equally entitled to seek a role in Zambia’s destiny on a level playing field, will be the undoing of…

  66. The whole world knows shameful PF are thieves. You have stolen from the majority Zambians voters. Stop mocking HH as Kalusa when you know deep down that you stole in this elections. This election is a sham, where on earth after the elections can you have 70 members of parliament petitioning? ECZ you are to blame for all this. God will punish Essu Chulu, Priscillar Isaac and Chris Akafuna. You are the ones who have sold our Country to the devil. Time will tell guys as long as you know what you have done. Shame upon you for helping Fipamafi thieves.

  67. UPND is a regional party. It is very difficult to win presidency from 3 provinces out of 10. In fact Zambia should include an electoral college vote so that leaders from regional and small parties like UPND can never rule Zambia. Good bye HH…until you make your little political party through out the 10 provinces of Zambia.

  68. @89 Harold Muna, tell me what is principled about Godfrey Bwalya Mwamba. Tell me what is so orincipled about HH cheating people that he will give free education to university immediately he steps into state house. Tell me what us orincioled about HH lying to people that he will bring back Anglo American to restore people’s jobs. If you do then we can have a meaningful discourse.

HH told people at a rally in Chililabombwe that they attend his rallies in huge numbers but when it comes to voting they deny him the vote. Tell me what HH has done to change things.

  69. So the Concourt itself has failed together with HH lawyers? Shame. I will soon be launching a complaint to the Judicial Service Commission to probe the incompetence and misconduct of Concourt judges. Just compiling my evidence now.
