We take a look at how some of Chipolopolo’s foreign-based players fared at their respective clubs over the weekend.
-DR CONGO
Zambia captain Rainford Kalaba played the opening 72 minutes while midfielder Nathan Sinkala the full 90 minutes of TP Mazembe’s 1-1 away draw in Tunisia against defending champions Etoile du Sahel on Saturday night in the semifinal, first leg of the 2016 CAF Confederation Cup.
TP equalised in the 52nd minute through Roger Assale after Hamza Lahmar put Etoile ahead in the 20th minute.
Kalaba and Sinkala were the only Zambians in the travelling party to Tunisia.
TP are chasing their first Confederation Cup title while Etoile are targeting a record equalling third victory when they meet in this weekends final leg decider in Lubumbashi.
-RUSSIA
Ural’s six-match winless run continued on Saturday when they lost their fourth game in the midst of the drought after going down 1-0 at home against Anzhi.
Midfielder Chisamba Lungu played the full 90 minutes.
-ARMENIA
Gandzasar also lost at home on Sunday, going down 2-0 against Alashkert in a match midfielder Lubambo Musonda played the full 90 minutes.
-TURKEY
Striker Evans Kangwa was also on the losing side on Sunday in Gaziantepspor 1-0 loss against leaders Istanbul Buyuksehir.
