WEEKEND SCORECARD: Wedson begins Zambia reign

Share

Monday, September 26 marked day one for Wedson Nyirenda as Zambia coach.

Nyirenda began his tenure with his first training camp in Ndola ahead of the October 9 clash against Nigeria there in a 2018 FIFA World Cup Group B qualifier at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

It was a positive start for the new coach who was at near full-strength with 16 out of the 23 domestic call-ups reporting for the first week of training.

They included Power Dynamos midfielder Fwayo Tembo who returns to the fold for the first time since June, 2015.

However, seven Zesco United players were missing and are away to face Lusaka Tigers in a league match on Wednesday in Lusaka.

The foreign-based call-ups will start arriving in camp this weekend.
