Outgoing ZANASU Vice President Prince Ndoyi says the suspension of UPND Vice President Canisius Banda for politics is “grandiosely suspicious and sends a wrong signal” to young and upcoming politicians.
Mr Ndoyi said youths are deeply concerned about the signal that the move to suspend Dr Banda will send in the political arena.
He noted that youths have held Dr Banda as hard working, loyal and consistent politician who has earned the respect of many in the political arena.
“We have received the news about the unexpected suspension of Dr. Canisius Banda whose Vice President for Politics in the UPND. We are not very surprised as youths but we are deeply concerned about the signal that this will send in the political arena.
“Let me say the suspension is grandiosely suspicious and sends a wrong signal to the young and would be politicians in the country. Because we see Dr. Canisius Banda as a hard working, loyal and consistent politician who has earned great respect in the political arena,” he said.
He further said it is outrageous that politicians like Dr Banda are less celebrated.
“It is outrageous for such characters in our politics to be least celebrated in our politics and the complete opposite is what is most celebrated. Why do we say so, Zambians are unfortunately seemingly celebrating unethical traits in politicians, we are more celebrated when we are thugs, violent, immoral, corrupt, inconsistent, disloyal etc,” he said.
He said the country’s politics should be transformed so that hard working people can be celebrated and ensure that crooks who continue to jump from one party to another everytime the fortunes of their Party dwindle are not given undue attention and celebrated like Heros.
He also said the country’s politics should move from viewing opponents as enemies who should not be seen talking because the country needs everyone’s participation in its development agenda.
He added that there is need for tolerance of different views among political leaders and that intra-party democracy is the only way individual political parties will help grow the country’s democracy.

Just accept UPND is a Tonga marginalised party
The only problem with Dr. Banda”s suspension is that only people that don’t support UPND can see how bad it is.
Dr. Banda is a likeable person. For me , he is one of those politicians i have learnt to admire . He always speaks good and gives reason. He is exemplary . Because of people like him , i was almost persuaded to join politics. Truly , this has been your worst year Dr. Banda. I Remember when Richard kapita left, when Edwin lifwekelo too Left. You calmly thanked them for their great contributions to the UPND. I will always pray for you Dr. Banda and i know God will show you why these things are so.
Even then ,be strong Man and know that your Victory is surely certain. Know this please that there are many out there who love and admire you. Again i say be strong , be strong for us .
Banda has now become a young politician. Ah too many dull people in Zambia . Upnd has rules so if you break them be prepared for repercussions. This is why young people are dying young. They lack any discipline although in this case this boy is just dull
@ NEZ. I AGREE WITH YOU. IF H.H. HAD NOT FOUND PROPER REASON TO SUSPEND BANDA HE WOULD NOT HAVE DONE SO. LIKE ALL PARTIES UPND HAS IT S RULES AND THERE HAS BEEN ALOT OF TALK ABOUT BANDA S DOINGS OF WHICH HE COULD HAVE EXPLAINED TO HIS PARTY PRESIDENT BUT HE DID NOT DUE. UPND IS A PRINCIPLED PARTY AND DOES NOT INTERFERE IN THE OPPOSITION S METHODS.
And one of the rules is to make HH as the only wiseman in UPND.
LETS JUST COME TO TERMS AND ACCEPT THAT MR KALUSA HH HAS A FULL STOP IN HIS BRAIN,THE LOSS OF THESE ELECTIONS HAVE GREATLY AFFECTED HIM PSYCHOLOGICALLY THE MAN CAN NOT SIMPLY THINK ANY MORE.

Next we will hear Dr. Banda has been replaced by a failed politician in the name of Dr. Nevers Mumba. Under five still practicing kindergarten politics i wonder how many will leave this failed political party in the next 2 years
If this suspension is truly effective then we will know that the party belongs to the Tongas only. why should you suspend a senior leader without talking to him. Be aware of Nevers Mumba and GBM there just there to destabilize
your party.

Dr Banda is a hard working, loyal and consistent politician who has earned great respect in the political arena,” BUT through a less than worthy quasi political/Cult Party. There is need to ask why, he hides his light under a bushel. Why is he in UPND? What glue holds him there. For Dr Banda to continue enjoying public respect he must now relocate his intellectual base and perhaps join another more suited or in the absence of one, form his own Party! Why not! The end of everything is the beginning of an Adventure.
Imagine you take your soccer team to the Fifa world cup finals and the coach decides to leave you out of the team simply because you don’t have money to oil his hands?
