Victor Ochen, who is on Forbes’ Top 10 List of Africa’s Most Powerful Men, is set to be in the country to attend the ZED Factor Talent Search Launch at Lusaka Grand Hotel. Victor Ochen ,a Noble Peace Peace Prize 2015 nominee, got interested in the pioneering project which is about youth empowerment. Victor Ochen endorses the project and has indicated that he wants to work with the Founder Ms Lillian Mutambo who is based in the UK. Mr Ochen and Ms Mutambo are scheduled to meet in London to discuss progression plans of empowering the youth of Zambia. Ms Mutambo is a qualified Social Worker and graduated on a full scholarship in 2013 from the University of Winchester. Ms Mutambo expresses how she wants to empower the youth of Zambia though performing arts. Ms Mutambo is already working with unemployed youth who are between the age of 17 and 25.
Also at the launch will be a book signing session with Matilda Muchindu who is an author and actress based in Australia. Her book titled Nightmares to Dreams is an illustration of her life’s journey as a single mother of four who went through very rough times but is now living her dreams. Ms Muchindu has also directed her unreleased movie titled “What Kept Me Going”. This touching movie was partly shot in Zambia with local actors selected and Rokafella Chisenga worked on the production. Ms Muchindu will talk briefly about her book and movie.
Also set to Jet in is Mrs Fikelephi Jackson Founder of UK NGO Against All Odds. Mrs Jackson appointed the founder of ZED Factor as an ambassador for the UK Charity and are travelling to Malawi this month on a mission. Ms Mutambo is a singer with stage name Lily Mutamz and is a special guest in Malawi where she will be singing at schools in Blantyre and other places on this Malawi 2016 Mission. Mrs Jackson has indicated that the ZED Factor participants will be appointed as ambassadors in Zambia to support with charity work of supporting school children identified with school uniforms and learning materials or where ever they identify the need to do something within the NGO’s mission.
Ms Sylvie Chibiliti a former American Idols Contestant will also be the country as she will be a judge along with Owas Mwape a Zambian based Actor. Also set to perform are artists like Shenky Shugah, DJ Neo, Earthquake the dancer and his crew, Revival Choir from Chunga, Simon Mwila (the former bus conductor/drankard now turning into lawyer) will say a poem and more local artists. This event has been sponsored by Lusaka Grand Hotel and tickets are very limited. An official press conference will be on Saturday at 10hrs at the Lusaka Grand hotel. The launch will start at 4 pm with a red carpet session. Ms Lillian Mutambo will also be ministering in song . Ms Mutamz set up a company Mutamz Records which identifies never heard of talents and is on a mission to them known globally.
